    @LokiJr I had to tell them the truth na wala pa ako dito at that time. Hirap na baka ma-invite for interview tapos wala pala doon. But the Aussie number caught the recruiter's ATTEntion.

    Yup tama.. if you got friends, and relatives here.. they can arrange interviews via skype for you. Meron ako couple of skype interviews before saka online personality test na sinagutan. Pero hindi ako nakuha sa mga yun. Hehehe.

    during actual (face-to-face) interviews, do you need to come in business suit attire ba? or smart casual will do? thanks!

    Smart casual will do, but depending on the position.
    Don't worry its very different here I heard some local went to interview wearing shorts.

    Sometimes, the recruiter will advise you what to wear sa face-to-face interview with their client. and some will give you tips and possible questions their client would ask during the interview..also,visit the company website..learn kung ano ung line of business. better be prepared..

    i enjoyed reading this thread...hoping that more can post advises regarding applications...i am currently in the Phils, Accounting ang field ko, and i am hoping to land a job before i get there next year...I have some preparations on my part like registering as an Associate CPA of Australia and being a member...i do hope this will help in my future applications... :D

    @peach17 Hirap din mag-adjust..wala pang work and family ko dito..niluluto pa lang ung job na para sa akin hehehe..lately lang din naging busy attending interviews..almost everyday nag-aapply hindi lang thru seek, pati direct mismo sa company website.. I'm sure alam mo na yun..
    review your resume and try using power words, if afford, use professional services.
    When interview na, basta be confident lang, very particular sila sa communication skills and team fit. prepare 5-7 stories na workrelated for the behavioural questions.

    Tip po sa akin nung isang agent: "Always dress to impress", meaning kung merong lang suit gun isuot mo.

    Even for lower level jobs, sabi nung facilitator sa isang training where I attended, sabi nya naghanap sya ng warehouse personnel, madaming applicant, pero merong isa na naka suit - yun na pinili nya, kasi parepareho naman either konti o wala experience.

    Sa mga nagaapply na na wala pa sa Aus, sinasabi nyo ba kung PR status kayo tsaka may mga pumapansin ba kung halimbawa eh months ka pa before dumating sa Aus? Gusto ko sana mag try before dumating dyan para atleast sa first week mo pa lang makasched ka ng face to face interview kung susuwertehin.

    @chesian ..based on my experience.. napansin yung application ko ng current employer ko mga two months bago ako pumunta sa Sydney.. then ni verify lang nila kung kalian ako ng Sydney so that they can set up the exam..

    with regards to the PR status.. naka indicate sa cover letter and resume ko na may PR ako.. including kailan yung grant date..

    9/1/2012 - Taken My 3rd IELTS Exam
    9/14/2012 - Got IELTS results: L=8,R=8.5,W=7,S=7 .. :-) .. pag may tiyaga..may nilaga
