don't mind the school sectioning. based on my experience, kahit nasa section 2 ung school mo as long as u submitted all the school requirements coupled with good experience related to ur education, i-aassess nila yan as equivalent to australian bachelor degree. di naman ako graduate ng UP pero naassess ako as level 1 so ausin lang ung documentation papasok na yan.

malalalaman un sa letter nakalagay naman un. @KTP , uu ganyan nga, kapag nakalagay sa letter mo na broadly comparable to Australian bachelor degree, automatic 15 pts yan. wala namang pakialam c DIAC sa sectioning ng skul eh.

Sa point system lang siya. Kung section 1 school mo macclaim mo automatically yung 15 points sa educational background samantalang hihingi sila ng additional documents kung section 2 at 3....Everything else is just the same

Batobats, most UP campuses are section 1, but since non-ICT ang course mo, baka kaylangan mo ng RPL (recognition of prior learning)...

Pero baka depende pa rin yan kung gano karelated ang curriculum ng course mo sa ICT field, kasi alam ko may mga BS math na courses (UST in particular) na may major in computing ganon, baka lumusot sa ACS yun kung madami kang ICT subjects...

But if it's BS math na di talaga related sa computing, then most likely kelangan mo RPL

Since BS Math ako and nag-RPL do I still get the full 15 points? Ang worry ko kasi walang nakalagay na comparable to a Bachelor's degree yung ACS result letter ko since hinde ako com sci or engg grad.
Hinde ako clear sa part na ito ng qualification kasi may category din na 10pts which is for other qualification recognized by relevant assessing authority. Baka dito ko macategorize, madeny ako bigla

Or did get it wrong? Sufficient na bachelor's degree to get 15 pts on qualification and ACS is just to assess I have potential employers in Oz.

Meron po bang mga kagaya ko na nag-RPL with the new pts system na na-approve na?
Medyo kinakabahan na ko baka kelangan ko pa magpa-accredit na translator to get extra 5pts

Hi Batobats,actually parang same case tayo.Assessed sakin ng Vetassess comparable to Aus Bachelor's degree pero hindi relevant field of study.Under Vet,if your occupation is not in a relevant field of study you need to have at least 3 yrs. of working experience in lieu of this.I don't know if this is the same with ACS.But someone told me na All 4-year Section 1 degrees are assessed as comparable to an Australian degree,regardless of the relevance of the discipline to your nominated skilled occupation.

Refer to number 5) application types... I cannto answer the details ng RPL na kasi I didn't go that route - I have a friend who did though kaya nagkaron ako ng idea about that process...

Some info lang pala about school sectioning. I have spoken with an ACS officer through email. And I found out itong sectioning ng school is just one of many factors ng ACS using CEP if ano ang magiging assessment sa school mo. So even if section 3 ang school mo, pero yun course mo and subjects are assessed by them as relevant to your nominated skill and they think are equivalent to those of Australian standards.. ma-assess ka pa din as AQF Bachelor's Degree.

So yun mga section 2 and 3 don't lose hope.

Bryan, pinalitan ko na yung signature ko from "fallback just in case my school turns out to be section 2 on latest CEP" to "Fallback just in case DIAC finds my application to be lacking 5 points, for any reason and rejects my 175" hahahah!

Alam mo sa tingin ko sa dami ng application ni DIAC, why would they go all through the trouble na pag-aralan pa yun transcripts and subjects mo and tumingin pa sa CEP if ginawa na ni ACS yun? Disclaimer lang yun sa ACS site, pero I am very positive na naka-depende lang sila sa assessment ni ACS sa qualification mo.

Agree! di ko icacancel yung 175 ko bwahaha! ngayon pa na october na ang nipoprocess :P abangan ko na lang magka-CO ako... kung for any reason ireject nya ako and 5 pts lang kulang, go ako ng 176, pero di ko icacancel hahaha, antayin ko ireject na lang (sana wag)

That part I'm not sure... kala ko kasi pag successful na ung RPL mo e, equivalent to bachelor's degree ka na dapat, pero kasi yung mga hindi nag RPL, may nilalgay si ACS na equivalent to bachelor's degree sa result letter e... Kelan mo nakuha ung ACS certificate mo? Here's what you can do:

1. Email a query to ACS, pwede yung mismong officer na nagemail ng result mo, accomodating sila for enquiries

2. Post mo to sa ACS thread natin, baka may mga nag-same route na makasagot

3. Check other forums

You may also be able to claim points for a qualification not related to your nominated occupation. If the assessing authority who conducts your skills assessment cannot provide an opinion about this qualification, you should contact the Vocational Education Training and Assessment Services (VETASSESS), who are the national assessing authority for a broad range of management, administration, professional and associate professional occupations.

Ang alam ko lahat ng skills assessment after Jul2011, dapat meron ng nakalagay na equivalent to bachelor's degree" statement.. requirement yan ng DIAC as one of the bases to get educational qualification..

Since hindi nga siguro IT-related ang course mo, hindi makapagbigay ng opinion ang ACS.. but have you tried asking them? As suggested by @itchan..

Sa Engineers Australia kasi, separate ang bayad ng skills assesment at ng educational qualification.. kaya sa letter namin, nakalagay both positive skills assessment at equivalent bachelor degree..

so to be safe..
a) ask ACS first.. baka pwde ka kumuh ng opinion
