Obtaining Police Clearance from the US/FBI

Tanong ko lang po sana kung meron na ba dito naka-try makahingi ng police clearance from FBI while outside the US? Nabasa ko kasi na pwedeng i-mail sa kanila yung mga fingerprints and other documents pero hindi naka-mention dun kung nagme-mail ba sila ng clearance to addresses outside the US.

Kung meron na po nakasubok, baka pwede niyo naman po share kung pano kayo nagrequest at kung gaano katagal bago nyo nakuha. TIA!

Step 1. hanapin mo sa FBI website yung police clearance request. nandun yung details ng fomrs na kelangan mo i-fill up. If I'm not mistaken, may 3 forms kang kelangan isubmit:
a. requestor details
b. fingerprint card
c. payment form

step 2. fill up yung forms

step 3. punta ka sa PNP crime lab para magpafingerprint (pwede mo gawin by yourself, pero sa experience ko sa PNP crime lab sa crame, they will do it better than you can, trust me)

step 4. nisend ko via DHL yung request, pero yung pagpappadalhan nila ng result is US address for me. pwedeng ipadala sa philippine address din but you need to secure/pay for return correspondence (I dont know how to go around this, kaya sa US ko na pinadala)

step 5. wait for 4-8 weeks daw for the results

1) yung sa inyo, pinadala sa US address po di ba? after nun, yung friend/family nyo sa US na nagscan tapos inemail na lang sa inyo and scanned copy?

2) yung fingerprint card, pwede bang i-print ko na lang ang softcopy dun sa website sa isang plain paper? or kelangan talaga sa "card" nakaprint?

6. Can I use the fingerprint card I download from this site?

Yes. The FBI will accept the downloaded paper fingerprint card only for the purpose of requesting an FBI Identification Record. If you go to a law enforcement agency or private fingerprinting agency to be fingerprinted, they may prefer to use a fingerprint card on standard card stock. You may use the fingerprint card provided by the printing agency.

mukhang pwede nmn imail ang result outside US.. kasi nakalgay sa application form, merong separate required address where to send the results..

1. yes - pero di pa dumarating sa kanila (kamaganak ko) ung clearance ko... 4th week ko palang ata to since I sent my request (up to 8 wks daw processing, not sure if that includes shipping)

2. tama yung nisend na link ni lock code, yun ang dapat na gamiting fingerprint card... though I think standard naman ang hitsura ng fingerprint card, including ung sukat ng blocks na nilalagyan ng fingerprint, specific to FBI yung mga labels/headings nung fingerprint card na madodownload mo from that site.

@itchan : so sa "card" niyo talaga prinint? hindi basta sa ordinary bond paper lang?

para po sa mga nagaabang ng FBI clearance....tumawag kami to inquire about the mailing of FBI clearances. sabi ng FBI, pwede raw ipa-priority mailing para mabilis pero kelangan meron tayong account sa fedex. ibibigay lang daw natin ang fedex account number sa kanila tapos ipapa-mail na lang daw nila thru fedex. fyi.

finally! we just got my wife's FBI clearance! as in napasigaw kami sa tuwa pagbukas namin ng mailbox. hehehe! it took exactly 6 weeks from the date FBI got our application request.

im planning to go PNP headquarters this friday for the fingerprint.. just would like to ask kung may bayad.. im planning kasi to have 3 sets para just in case di maganda yung isa.. may dalawa pa ang FBI to check...

i'm not too sure sa pinas. yung sa wife ko, dito kami sa singapore police nagpa-fingerprint for her FBI clearance. may bayad dito pero di naman kamahalan.

i went to campe crame today for fingerprinting... they are very accommodating... i paid 200 pesos for the fingerprint.. i used the fingerprint form from them.. another requirement is you need to have 2pcs. 2x2 picture... i would really suggest to get your fingerprint either from crame or nbi.. this will reduce the risk of fingerprints that cannot be read by fBI...

you said, you used the fingerprint from them, you mean Crame's own form?
are you not supposed to use the FBI form for the fingerprint?

@lock_code2004 : nag-post kayo dati (May 6th) from FAQ ng FBI....pwede gumamit ng ibang fingerprint card na galing dun sa agency/company na kukuha ng prints nyo.

i used the fingerprint form from Crame.. i downloaded and print the FBI from in plain letter typewriting paper.. however, when i got to Crame.. they said that the fingerprint can't be done on the typewriting paper...

for my wife's FBI clearance, credit card ko ang ginamit at ako ang nag-sign sa credit card form.

@multitasking @hotshot Mga sirs, tanong ku lang kung anong itsura ng FBi clearance? Letter lang ba xa? Ineexpectku kasi parang sa NBI clearance na nasa colored paper..ahaha..ung dumating kasi is ordinary letter lang stating na walang hit or criminal record na nagmatch sa pinadala kong finger print card..

@angelmar17.. yung sa akin.. di ordinary paper.. may security feature yung paper na pag ni scan or xerox mo..... may lalabas na parang unauthorized copy... nga ako natanong pa ng CO ko about that.. pero ni explain ko na lang na ganoon talaga yung paper..

@angelmar17 .. ni check ko yung FBI clearance ko.. parang gray na paper sya.. then sa may result nakalagay "A SEARCH OF THE FINGERPRINTS....". plain gray na paper sya.. pero pang ni scan mo may lalabas na unauthorized copy.. dre subukan mong I scan yung FBI clearance mo...

@multitasking salamat sir, wala pa kasi saken ung actual na letter, sa US adress ku kasi pinamail para mabilis..sabi nga nung sister ko gray paper xa..try ku pascan sa kanya bukas kung magaappear ung unauthorized copy..picture lng kasi muna ung sinend nya saken para makita ku ung content ng letter..salamat ulit sir! Question pa sis

1. Yung standard fingerprint form (FD-258) na nasa FBI website, did you print it? If yes, what kind of paper, kasi if ma-i-ink hindi pwde ordinary bond paper diba? Or did they use their own fingerprint form sa camp crame?

2. How long bago mo natanggap yung FBI? Based sa timeline mo, more than 1 month?
