Pag recruiter kasi pinu-pool muna nila lahat ng applicants as compared sa diretso na sa employer. Mas ok un diretso na employeer kasi mabilis sila tumawag. Pero nag apply din ako sa mga recuiter like hays etc.

Wife ko IT din pero logistics/freight forwarding domain.
May tumawag na HR ng toll mismo direct from linkedin. May oopen daw sila ng position pero d pa approved kaya tawagan daw uliy. Swak na swak sknya un role hehe

Manufacuring/electronics dn ako tsaka b2b/logistics. Un nga, pinapapunta ako ng resource manager dito sa melbourne same company ko sa SG baka offeran ako ng job.

@Isyut hala! 1 month lang din plan ko apply diyan then balik muna sa current job if hindi pa din makawork diyan. so as of now, you said wala masyado opportunity. nako po. huhuhu. focus ka muna sa target job mo po talaga?
@IslanderndCity Yes, very challenging po ang job hunting dito lalo na sa Adelaide. Kung 1 month ka lang dito that would be good at least you get to know the place. If you are coming from SG talagang maninibago ka dito. So, be prepared in all aspects.
@Isyut sa 3 weeks na pag-apply mo, focus ka lang sa profession mo talaga? wala ka pa sa point na nag-apply sa kahit anong jobs same sa ginawa ng iba dito?

Also having difficulty here, me and hubby.

Ako naka isang interview lang after 2 months, but seems pretty bleak. All else are either rejections or being ignored. Reeeally worried :-s

Si hubby naka isang face-to-face and some phone calls from recruiters, but that is all for now.

I have a housekeeping job for now but very laborious job, still have not found the right strategy to finish a room in time. Very tired na ako pagdating sa bahay, layo pa lakad from station to bahay... i'm not complaining :-p haha *loka-loka*

parehas tayo @kulotski ...hk din ako..pero medyo na master ko na ang technique sa mabilisang linis na mukhang super linis tlga! haha nakaka relate ako dyan sobrang pagod tlga, pero pag dating ng payday masaya na rin kaysa wala..haha

Building maintenance work ko sa pinas for more than 5yrs. Mainly handling airconditioning and refrigeration systems ng building. I used to work in malls and supermarkets and dept stores.

Mahirap lng tlga d2 kc ang hvac system d2 hindi parehas satin. Plus masyadong specific cla masyado s skills.

Registered mech engr ako sa pinas unfortunately napunta ako sa building management. Masyadong mataas ang skill ng mga engr d2, mostly sa design.

Kung maintenance man papasukin ko, usually tradespeople ang hnhnap nila, may specific skills.

Kahit sana simpleng tagapalit lng ng ilaw o tagakumpuni ng sirang gripo, kaya lang walang maniwala...

And i knw i am more than that. Pero ni isa wlang maniwala.

Pero im not losing hope.

kung maintenance guy (tagapalit ilaw, etc.) meron nyan sa mga hotels. try to connect sa mga pinoy who works in hotels kasi maka refer yan sila. ako walang previous exp sa hotel pero nakapasok dahil sa kilala ng kakilala ng kakilala.

Maisahre ko lang po lalo na doon sa mga PRs to give encouragement, most of the Filipino na nameet namin who have been here for like 3-13 years, who does odd-jobs here and there, they somehow look up to us even though bago pa lang po kami. Why? Halos lahat po sila ay non-PR, meaning others are on tourist visa or student visa (which really cost a lot of investment). Ang biro nga po nila sa isa't-isa is nagpi-PHD na daw po yung iba sa tagal ng pagiging on student visa nila. On the otherhand a lot of them are doing great, most of them have their own small businesses already back in PH, which is really admiring. Kaya ang lagi nilang sinasabi sa misis ko, huwag mag-alala dahil makakuha ka pa ng marming hours of part-time dahil PR ka and eventually makakakuha ka ng IT job. Please don't get me wrong po if I promote po doing odd-jobs even though we are IT professionals back in PH. At the back of our minds these are just temporary and sooner or later we will land a job base on our professional work experience. Napakalaki po talga ng difference dito compared sa PH, for example if you work as a full-time waiter in PH, I believe you will just get by barely, pero dito po, you can live a decent life.

I am working now sa 1 hospital. Cleaner. Odd job cgro sya kc more or less 20 hrs a week lng ang bnbgay skn. Ung sahod ko eh mas maliit lng ng like 3 dollars per hour kesa sa sahod ng partner ko whose working full time 40 hrs per week as nurse. Sa ospital kc standard sila sa pay, may pinagbasehan.

Actually, mas malaki ng 250% ang sahod ko ngaun kesa sa sahod ng manager ko sa pinas sa engineering dept.

Gustuhin ko man kumuha pa ng 1 job, i think oks na ung kita ko now, gustuhin ko man o hindi makakaipon tlga ako kasama ng sahod ng partner ko combined.

Un lng ung pride natin syempre. Im working as cleaner. At casual role lng anytime pwede ako hindi na pagtrabahuin.

Apakababa ng cost of living d2. Or should I say, mataas ang cost of living d2 Pero ang purchasing power ng 1aud eh malakas din. Thats y kht odd job lng d2, kya nang lumaban everyday.

Sa ngaun, kht hirap pdn aq magenglish, gusto nmn ng boss ko d2 ang trabaho ko. At willing sya to giv me more shifts kht pa magreklamo ung iba kong workmate. Sb nya sya n daw bhla sknla kung mgsb man cla ng msma akn.

Importante kht odd job pa yan o professional job mo, ibgay mo pdn full heart mo sa trabaho. Dahil hnd tlga biro ang laki ng kita d2.

&lester_lugtu may brother na architect yung pinoy na kakilala ko dito. sbi nya marami syang clients na cleaners na nagpapagawa ng bahay.

bookmarked this thread. nagsisimula nang mag sink in ang kaba ko sa job hunting. papunta po ako adelaide sa sept 14 at patingin tingin na rin ng mga job openings. galing ako sa facilities management (4 years) more on electrical sana me matiyempuhan na related sa experience ko. pag wala baka pwedeng mag hardinero or tiga assemble ng box ng pizza muna.
