@czha !! natanggap aku dun sa small accounting firm, ngaun ngaun lang... yun nga lang ang layo, frankston ako, northcote ung lugar.. pero rewarding kc ang bait nung employer, pero subcontractor aku kc abn hiningi sakin, ok na din kesa wala, bait naman nya eh, para ka lang nasa paaralan pag nagshashare xa ng kaalaman.

pangdagdag experience din sa resume. nga pla mga dre, ung resume ni boss rod, malakas datingan.. binago ko lang na pang accounting, pero ung format swak eh.. puso lang meron din yan sa kabilang pc na makakarelate sa resume natin.

Pwedeng pakishare na din pre.. pay it forward kumbaga

Hi everyone,

Hope maging inspiration to sa mga Kababayan na nag-i-start palang. I arrived in here in Melbourne on June 29 and 5 days after arrival, I started to apply for work. Fortunately I was able to get an auditing job today. Verbal offer palang pero napakasaya ko. Though 3-month contract lang to, ok na din para magkaroon ng local experience. Big 4 accounting firm pa kaya sobrang saya talaga. Salamat sa Panginoon at talaga namang ginabayan nya ko. To God be the glory.

@ladyinpink and @multitasking, salamat sa inyo. Actually malaki utang na loob ko sa CV format ni Sir Rod Gante and Ms. Madina Shiela Mendoza. Di ko na maalala yung user name nila dito sa forum pero maraming maraming salamat din po sa inyo...

Para sa mga naghahanap pa din ng work, wag lang tayong mawalan ng pagasa, tumawag din tayo lagi kay God at ang pinakaimportante ay wag mawala yung faith natin in Him na ibibigay nya yung the best job na para sa atin in His time. Always remember that God has sent us to this place for a purpose and of course because this is His will. Kaya wag tayong panghinaan ng loob dahil magtatagumpay tayo dito. We belong here!!! hehe.

Congrats! Isa ka s mga maswerte na nakakuha ng job. Ako 4 mos na dito Melbourne and so far undergoing ung character reference at police checks ung min 100 points.

@multi tasking,
At that stage na background checking na ang HR, job offer na po ba susunod? Ako nga lng kaya bina background check from 5 na final interview? How long po ba ang background checking nung docs na may min 100 points?

Pero okay nako, hindi na mahirap tanggapin. After all, hindi ko naman tlga dream makapunta d2, dala dala lng ako ng dream ng partner ko of living here.

Mag 2months naman ako sa work ko now as cleaner in a hospital. And next week, from 22 hrs per week, magiging 33 hrs per week nako. Natutuwa kasi boss ko sa trabaho nating mga pinoy. Sna lng 2loi 2loi.

Hindi ko ndn balak humanap ng 2nd job. Kuntento nako sa 1 job. This will give me pa extra time to do other things.

Relax lng. Pagwork, work tlga. Pagrelax mode, pahinga tlga.

At hnd nako nadedegrade sa work ko ngaun as cleaner. Gaya nga ng sbi ng 1 patient na nakausap ko one time nililinis ko room nya, it doesnt matter kung ano work mo as long as kumikita ka, and ur earnings make u happy. Just smile.

Hehehe.

Im not giving up my engineering job dream. Pero that doesnt mean i would hav that here. Pwedeng sa pinas ko pdn sya mafulfill. Importante, we're not stopping learning.

S mga wla pdng job jan, ke skill related o odd job, tiis lng. Basta smile lang palagi.

@lester_lugtu Tama ka dyan boss tsip. Sabi nga nung isang master dito sa forum: “a job is just a job, it does not define you as a person…”
I wouldn’t mind doing odd jobs once dumating kami dyan next year. Engineer nga sa Pinas pero ang sahod mo either: kulang or saktuhan lang. kung sobra man, pag nabaha kayo o ang kotse mo or may na-ospital na family member bye-bye savings. Tingin ko mas nakaka-degrade yung thought na “engineer nga ako pero ba’t parang kulang pa rin ang sahod ko?”. hehe

Being a cleaner in hospital is not that bad, on the other hand. U jst hav to clean, non-stop, patient rooms and other areas for almost 5hrs a day 4days a week, and earn as much as 7x ur salary in the Phils.

At the end of the day, good compensation is what drives us to go here. Dahil mababa sahod sa pinas, and there's a chance to go here. Walang pilipino ang aalis sa bansa nya kung kumikita sya dun ng 100k a month.

So after all, hindi naman dahil sa gusto natin icontinue ang pagiging professional natin dito sa australia, part lang un, ang magkaron ng satisfying na buhay, part lang din un. Ang magaral d2, part lang din. Ang maging tourist, part lang. Ang madefacto, part lang. Lahat yan part lang ng main reason natin na kumita ng mas malaking income.

So pasensya na sir, sometimes we aspire of some greater things in life, when God has already given us enough. And what is only left is to be contented and happy.

Looks like okey ka na currently @lester_lugtu and I am happy for you; keep looking for that job though whereby you will be able to make the most out of your talents...

I beg to disagree with your statement above though...

But yeah, it is different strokes for different folks. It's just not a universal fact.

Hi po, para sa mga katulad kong naghahanap ng work, gusto ko lang ishare na malaking tulong din ang career centre. try niyo po icheck sa state niyo baka meron. for me, i called the WA career centre and they referred me to an NGO that offers free career advice. it was worthwhile going because they checked on my CV and provided valuable inputs, gave me insights on industries where I can apply based on my working experience, advised how to write cover letters and how to address key selection criteria, and etc.
