guys.. na ipost ko na itong suggestion ko sa kabilang thread.. for those who are still looking for jobs.. have you tried a different strategy like paying someone to write or revise your resume..we all know how important having a good resume that will catch attention of the recruiters.. it is costly kasi around 350 to 400 AUD .. pero comparing sa expenses of finding a job + stress level + time na alang work.. feeling ko sulit pa rin sya...

Saan ka mga recruitment agency nag-apply if you don't mind?

We intend to do our initial entry this November but will settle siguro mga March of next year. We are thinking mag-aaply na online before kami mag initial entry.

    Best of luck!
Same plans here early next year pero naka entry na kami sa Melbourne last month
Hehe! It's been three weeks and naka isang interview pa lang. Usually either local experience or CPA/CA (Aust) na certification yung hinahanap. :) Suggestion, if kaya maging CPA before lumipad dito, do it now.

You can do some research online to verify yung impact of having someone generate a resume for you.... In my opinion, it is worth the risk specially kung matagal na yung paghahanap ng work then ala pa rin positive result.

    @anneoz08

It is probably not too difficult but the reading materials are very thick; yung nga lang it is open notes... So the key there is to understand everything and make some notes on it. My wife is clocking around 90minutes per day to study. She is having fun naman so all good.

Maraming gumagawa nito mate... A designation of CPA in the Philippines is not heard of here in Australia so Pinoys have to take the exams for added recognition. You can still get a job without it but some opening requires CPA/CA's only to apply.

What do you mean mas better ata to study via TAFE or online? Study what?

@TasBurrfoot i've search kasi sa tafe, may mga courses na certificate in accounting, myob, etc. duration is weeks to 3yrs also. So ur wife is on her way to CPAA? Is she working as well? Open study ba sya or classroom set up kasi remote area lugar nmin online lang option ko. Worried lang ako sa 3 yrs study. I'm not sure if i can make it, whAt if kung ma pregnant ako wala pa kasi kming kid and we're not that young. Pwd bang installment kya ung exam hnd sbay sabay like in pinas. Can u take it longer than 3 yrs?

Nga pala sorry dami kong tanong re: syllabus, iba pa to s transcript? Salamat!

She is taking it 1 paper at a time... She pass 2 papers na so 4 to go nalang, her third will be next month. Yeah, she is working at the same time in an audit firm.

It is self-study; you just enrol (and pay) then they will ship you the giant book and on organise your test date. Come test date, show up and do well to pass... :)

Yeah, it is a bit tedious but you are given 6yrs to finish it - you have to be determined to finish it otherwise masayang lang ang mahal na fees.

TAFE - you can get these but the gold standard probably if you want a career in accounting is either CPAA or CA.

All the best! :) Wala pa din kami anak ni misis, if mabuntis sya next month, di pa namin naisip ano ang plano nya for CPAA... :)

Hi po, getting a ceritidicate/diploma/masters in accounting through TAFE will not make you eligible for a CPAA/ CA qualification, only certain exemptions on some papers required for the CPAA/ CA . Although it will give you a good grasp of AU acctng/finance/tax/business laws that will be helpful in an acctng-related role.

As for the resume writing suggestion, if you're not too confident with your writing skills this may be a good way. Otherwise, I'll say this again, aside from continuously revising your resume you should always look out for volunteer opportunities around your area, which is a good way to expand your network. I have an African friend who used to drive a cab for a living but decided to stop and concentrate on getting a job to practice his profession as an accountant. He updated his CV and spent days calling and getting in contact with volunteer organisations until he was taken in as a volunteer driver instructor for new immigrants. In his volunteer work, he met company executives also serving as volunteers and who became his referees. He is now an Accountant while at the same time completing his CPAA.

Transcript of Records is different from Syllabus...

I am not sure if you need to pass IELTS though; tell you what why don't you call the CPAA hotline and ask about your situation. Might be easier to get first hand information rather than wait for an answer here in the forum. :)

No online exams as per my wife's experience; you probably need to fly in and out if ever you decides to take the exam. Again, you may want to refer this to the CPAA hotline.

    All the best! :)

@chinky Hi! I recently applied for assessment. So kung okay lang i'll answer your question. Online ko siya ginawa. Yes, meron dun become a member and then andun yun how to apply tapos may link from there :) kung may scanner ka, i think pwede mo ipadala sa email yung mga supporting documents mo. Pero hindi ko na ginawa yun since meron dun yung identification na kelangan mo ng 100 points and kailangan siya ipacertify so I opted to just mail all the documents so yun .

@anneoz08 hello!

@muffles127 Hi! Thanks for sharing your info. Will take into consideration if kaya ko rin kayang mag pa assess ngayon. Will be in Au in December so hopefully makapag start na rin sana ako before going there.

Hi! Di pa ako ngstart mgpaassess ayusin ko pa docs ko. I'm here na in AU for few months na and sadly i don't have the college syllabus with me. I need to request pa from the Phils i dont know how long bago ito mkuha. I'd like sna to enrol 1st sem 2015 kaya lang di n ako aabot so 2nd sem ako.
You can see all the requirements sa CPAA page. Since PR n ako dito di ko n need mg IELTS. Advice ko sau ayusin mo n lhat ng docs mo before going here and paassess kna agad pra mkaenrol ka asap.

Buti nmn mahirap di n ko mghihirap bawas effort na through CPAA:) problem ko lang ung syllabus ko from college, i need to request pa bka matagalan since 2004 pa ko grad. So bka di n ko mkaabot s 1st sem ng 2015:(.
