kakatawag ko lang sa BC office. wala pa rin =(
ipagdasal natin na makuha natin lahat ang 0.5 na kelangan natin.
ako nga rin. di ko expected yung writing ko. though less practice ako dun pero alam ko papasok sa 7.0 ang skills ko.

mag-email uli ako mamaya.
di pa kasi office hours sa BC UK this time eh.
baka today na ibigay ang results. hehe!

Ayos, akala ko nasa 35 points cut off para 7 ang score kapag listening, 30 pala, pinataas mo hope ko hehehe. Grabe listening pa lang na momroblema na ako, pano pa kaya yung speaking at writing @-)

I don't think you can really call it "reviewing" but more on practicing how to answer the tests. It's virtually impossible to know what the questions will be, but it is possible to learn the type of questions that will come up. Anyway, to answer your question, 3 weeks before the exam is all I needed. But keep in mind, this is from someone who failed the writing exam LOL!

I dont have enough idea for now regarding IELTS since this would be our first time to take the test. By the way, we'll be taking GT. If i would get much higher than 6 in each band score it'll be much better for me. Is it true that GT is more easier than Academic exam? I'm a right?

I got a 6.5 in writing without even finishing the test. So getting a 6 should be easy. I assume you're headed for Canada?

Yes, GT is generally easier than the Academic test. But they only differ in the reading and writing tests; the speaking and listening tests are one.

If you're headed for Australia, then you'll need at least 7 in all bands to earn points.

@ios_dev ah ok..kasi yun ang nabanggit nung agent na nakausap ko. I actually didn't need a points for ielts and 6 is equals to zero for the point system. Anyway thanks for input so i can clarify it with our agent.

You need a minimum of 60 points for visa class 190. Most people barely make the cut and rely on IELTS to reach 60.

from our agent explanation, i already have 60 points even i scored 6 in each band score that is equal to zero in point system. But it'll be much better if i have higher than 6 in each band score.

Right, if you get 7s, you'll get more points and I would suggest to go 189 instead of 190. That way you have the option to choose which state to live in. Also, 189s are processed before 190s.

What field/industry are you in?

I think lang na pwede 6 sa ielts para sa visa 190. kung 55 points kana tapos usin visa 190 then the state can give you 5 points para sa 60 points requirement. yun ay kung

age 25-32 = 30pts
work exp 8 years = 15 points
bachelor = 10 points
= 55 points + 5 points for state sponsorship = 60 points

Yun nga lang may mga requirements din sa ielts ang state sponsorship, I think sa profession ko NSW 6.0 ang ielts need nila, sa SA 6.5 naman, then lahat ng states eh 7.0 ang need sa ielts for state sponsorship.

@ios_dev ok, thats actually we are up to. But 190 is safe for me because of the 60 points. I'm in aviation field. I'm an aircraft mechanic. But of course i'd rather dream of 7 in each band score for me to be skilled independent.

Nice! Then I guess you're just about set. Start packing your bags! It's very rare for someone to get less than 6 in IELTS.

@thegreatiam15 Same na same tayo. First take almost no review and I failed Reading and Writing. 2nd take I passed Reading but no movement on Writing did my Remark sa BC SG but no change. Then my last exam sa IDP I really prepared for the writing test. I even attended tutor class for 2 days for 2 hours pero wala still the same. I am praying now coz I know I did better than my previous exams. Hopefully, the score will change this time.

dapat dito palang mam ipractice na natin yung iwas text speak, kasi ako naging sakit ko yan everytime makikipagusap ako sa fb or viber etc.

haha anyway im sure magiging ok din tayo minsan kasi pag sobrang rush nasisira diskarte natin e, ang natutunan ko sa past exams ko dapat talaga magprepare nang mas mahabang panahon

Anyone here who wants to shed some light, maybe one of you guys did experience to take TOEFL iBT examination before? What do you think?

@ArvieP almost parehas tayo nang situation before, i think ang maipapayo ko lang talaga habaan natin preparasyon natin.

kasi tayo may general idea na tayo sa exam, so alam na natin ano ieexpect hehehe

for now wala akong proper na theory paano papasa since hindi pa ako nakakakuha nang desired results ko, at the moment wala ako sa position talaga sabihin kung ano dapat gawin natin.

pero let's see malay mo this time makaswerte na tayong dalawa cheers GOODLUCK po sa next exams!

@thegreatiam15 korek..pinapractice ko din yang iwas text..pero feeling ko vocabulary ang kulang sakin..kasi mga common words lang madalas ko gamitin.pero last exam ko i used diff words na kaya i tried na rin ang remark.still praying na di na ako magreretake...saka now i am helping friends sa review nila para mareview din ako just in case di magbago score prepared na din ako..

hello i think thesaurus can help you : )

make a list of common words na daily ginagamit mo tapos gawa ka nang table

lagay mo common at new

then lagay mo sa the saurus yung synonym at antonym nya lagay mo dun sa table na new words tapos magcommit ka for a day yung new table lang gagamitin mo na words ayon kay thesaurus..: )
