Same sentiment for Taiwan. Uber safe, low tax rates, good health care. But I really can't understand the language :) hahaha. Actually, if AU did not pan out, I would have applied for Taiwan citizenship this year. Fortunately, AU did grant me a visa this year.
Canada for me is too far and too cold. Plus, most immigrants have a hard time finding work there, unless they have prior experience or they studied there. Whereas in Au, it is nearer PH, good weather conditions, and easier to get a job.

Pero ngayon, parang wala na kong naririnig na masyadong maganda from anyone i know who is working and living there.
Mate Singapore is a very nice place... WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY better than the Philippines!

Food is great, very covenient, very safe (lumalabas ako at maglakad ng 1km to a McDonald's at 2 in the morning kasi nagugutom) - what more can you ask for?

Oh yeah, did I mention a very low tax regime and a salary that is at the least double sa kinikita sa Pinas? :)
I agree, Sg is a nice place.. in terms standard of living..

In the country where I am right now has a similar case, knock on wood, but I can say that I feel safer here than I do kapag nasa sariling bansa ako

I can walk with my backpack on my "back" and not in front of me.

I can stroll in the city center while using my phone or a camera dangling around my neck.

i can shop a very busy marketplace not worrying if someone's eying my wallet.

ang hindi lang talaga matapatan ng ibang bansa, at least on my own perspective.. ay yung saya ng mg Pilipino at saya sa Pilipinas.. lalo na ngayong magpapasko.

i was in New York City, on Christmas Day last year, pam-pelikula ang setting, may konting snow, naka-winter clothes ang mga tao... makulay, masaya, kumukutikutitap!

but I'd rather be in Pinas that time having a simple, happy time with family and friends.

i like Oz better, although mas geographically isolated sya
geographically isolated from? may eroplano naman nobody is isolated anymore.
may mga klasmeyt ako na nagmigrate sa US at Canada at simula nung nagpunta sila dun e hindi pa sila nakakabalik sa Pinas for more than a decade.

Probably he meant geographically isolated from other famous destinations like europe, america, south/latin america, Caribbean, etc., as compared maybe sa Canada.

That's exactly what I meant.. like if you're in the US-- Canada, Central America, and the Caribbean is right at your doorstep.. then with all travel promos like Groupon, you can go to Europe cheaper and faster, I supposed, than if you're coming from Oz.

The airfare from US to Phils is not that expensive anymore, baka noong 1980s pa yun. A lot of pinoys choose not to have a vacation in the Philippines, not because of airfare alone... pero usually yung mga kaakibat na gastos kapag umuwi ang isang OFW.. lalo na kapag magpapasko

On the otherhand, one of the prime reasons I chose Oz is its proximity sa Pinas.. I could go on a quick vacation without having to sit on a plane for 16 hours or more.

I bought a 2 way ticket SG-MNL from CebuPac for the xmas holiday since namimiss na daw ng mga lolo at lola mga apo nila. We're family of 4 (2 kids) and it only cost me S$1300.00 with 40kg luggage.

Hmmm I wonder how much it would cost kung nasa AU na kami.

From OZ to Pinas, airfare would depend kung saang state ka mag depart
and would depend kung anong airline at kung anong season

Cheaper airline like jetstar that travels to Manila from OZ and may Cebu Pac

SG to Pinas would still be cheaper kahit peak season kasi malapit sa Pinas

At sa main topic naman: Singapore VS Australia VS Canada VS Pinas:
Singapore = positive would be malaki sweldo, standard of living is good
negative would be mahal daw yong bahay and car
    Australia = positive for some would be the weather/climate;
for some people, it will give them more opportunities
to work and excel in their field of work at sa iba yong
tax system is good - "salary packaging"
= negative? depends on the individual's experiences
Canada = positive: maganda na country
negative: minsan nagpapala ka pa ng snow; long flight to Pinas
Pinas = positive: more fun in the Philippines; mura ang fee pagnagpapamper ka

like good public roads and good health system...free checkup, free hospitalization and subsidize meds, free school at iba pa...

    State: Sydney
    Airline: Cebu Pac
    AU$1700 return sameng 3 na
    no meal no baggage papunta
no meal 1 baggage pabalik ng Sydney

2 years ago nakakuha kami ng same price going to manila ....

??? Diba mas marami nagtatravel ng pasko.
Considering na may force shutdown pa usually mga company sa OZ pag pasko hangang New Year.
Mas marami nag-uuwian kaya nga nagmamahalan airfare pag pasko e.
    I don't get your logic.

    ahh salamat papi

another question: ito bigla nalang tumama saken e

    @thegreatiam15,

drug addiction normal? can you cite some stats mate?

though there are more juvenile delinquents here than where we lived before (Singapore) but I really find it disturbing that you label seeing an "adik" kid normal in Australia...

overall i would still find it safer to raise my kids here in Australia than in the Philippines...
