Guys,ask ko Lang kng panu mkawork sa Australia as medtek.anu bang mga requirements?madali bang makakita ng job as medtek dyan especially s south Australia?

    a) if you want to apply for your own visa as a skilled migrant...
    check mo ang profile ni @ren , she is now in SA working as medtech...
    may search function sa taas..

    and also read the thread "How to start my application"..

    b) other option is to apply for work/employer sponsored visa 457..
    may mga ilan na lucky to find employer kahit wala pa sa Australia..
    pero mostly IT, engineering etc.. not sure about medtech..

    Hi there sorry late reply kakabalik ko lang from holidays.

    Based on https://www.migration.sa.gov.au/snol_data
    Here in SA as of 7/11/2013 the Medical Laboratory Technician - Special conditions apply, while Medical Laboratory Scientist is highly available for SA state sponsorship.

    What I recommend get your papers assessed by AIMS (Australian Institute of Medical Scientist) http://www.aims.org.au/services/assessments
    and aim for the Medical Laboratory Scientist (that would mean taking the exams offered)

    Since Med Lab Scientist is in SOL list, there are far more flexibility with visa options and which state to live.

    Aside from SA Pathology (for government hospitals) there are only 3 private labs here in SA so Lab job market is much smaller compare to Sydney at Melbourne. But the good thing is because we have Phlebotomy skills and excellent english communication skills it increases our job opportunity. :)

    Hi gusto ko lang po itanong, Medtech grad po ako pero ang work experience ko 1 1/2 years sa Research lab sa pinas, and more than 3 yrs sa Clinical Research din po sa Sg, sa AIMS din ba ko dapat magpaassess? May mga kilala ko po ba kayo sa AU na medtechs na hindi Path lab ang background pero naging successful ang AIMS assessment? Maraming salamat po.

    @sol If you haven't lodge your visa then yes you have to. But once you are here already loooking for jobs then dont worry it.

    @j_1019alisen I believe I got 15 pts for Bachelors but then again It was a different point system back the 2010. But I still believe it was a 15 :)

    Hi ms @Ren, thank you sa topic na ito. Medtech din ako d2 sg at nangangarap din ako mkpunta jan SA ksma ng family ko ksi ndi nmen ksma ni hubby baby d2 sg.

    We are praying na maaprove State sponsorship nmen jan sa SA which was lodged last 2nd july. Magtake ako ng exam this sept, sna makapasa.

    Ms @Ren, medtech ka din po diba? Pede ba ako tulungan hanap ng work pgdting jan, kahit referrals lng? Kung smooth lang ang process ng samen hnggng visa approval, tentative plan nmen alis by april 2015, ano po ang season nyan jan? Hopefully summer hehe..

    May isa pa po ako question baka may idea po kau, ako kasi ang primary applicant, pgdting nmen jan, sympre si hubby ang mghahanap ng work muna while ako alaga sa 2yo daughter nmen. Hindi po ba un obligado ako na,ako muna hanap ng work? Ksi plan nmen kung keri ang expenses ng 1 lng muna work, ako nlng muna alaga sa baby nmen hnggng mgproper school sya.

    Salamat ng marami ms @Ren. Malaking tulong ang mga topics nyo d2. Most especially samen na wlang relative or friend man lng na kakilala jan. God bless.

    Yes Med tech (although to be honest I haven't tried to take the AIMS exam, sa scenario ko now parang ayaw ko na mag-exam. Nakwento kasi ng kakilala ko that once you are here, if you are qualified to a Scientist position and they like you and you have a science degree kahit na from oversease, they will still hire you. Esp if thats within the same company.))

    Currently I work in an lab here but since sa gov't hospital ako nagwowork now, medyo mahirap mag-refer, though once nag-open kami na-interview naman ung n-refer ko :)

    Don't worry if mauna magkawork ang Secondary applicant, regardless either of you pwede mag apply ng 887 PR later on. Provided na sya ung maka fulfil first nung working hrs required per week in 12months.

    Naglodge kana ulit ng Sate Sponsorship application? Pass ka ulit. hehe

    @Ren thanks sa reply ms Ren, to be honest din, tamad na ako mgreview tlg, sa edad ko na 12yrs since college na hehe. Pero isip ko ksi palagi back up plan nmen to. Try ko pa din, syaang binayad ko hehe.

    Sbi nga din ng colleague ko d2 na pinay na nkabased na din jan sa adelaide, ndi na dw need magexam, magmember ka lng sa aims ok na un. Ako lng ang mapilit magexam hehe.

    Re 887PR na nabanggit mo, PR nmn ung inapplayan ko 189 yta un, may pgkakaiba ba un sa 887? klngn ko din pala itanong sa agency un kung anong class ng visa uli. Un lng ksi 189 naalala ko last oct na inilodge e.

    Saka pla, tama nmn ung decision nmen sama2 na punta jan db? Ung iba kasi mauna muna husband tpos sunod nlng ang wife at kids.

    @Ren Hi, magttnong lng uli tungkol sa work as medtech jan. Kung hindi ako nkatake ng exam ang applyan ko is med lab technician? Anong job scope nito? Taga process lng ba ng samples or same lng ng scientist? tpos ilan ang night staff s current hosp work mo ngaun? D2 ksi sg magisa lng ang nyt.rotate ba ng shift junior staff or may item na permanent morning or permanent afternoon? May 2yo daughter kasi ako so mdmi things to consider kung hanap na uli ako work, wla mag aalaga. Or meron ba na part time lng, kunwari halfday lng gnun?..salamat sa info uli.. >:D<

    Hi Belle,

    Sorry late reply.
    Mas maganda yung 189 since PR na yun, but you have to passed the exam to get that visa. And advantage yun sayo since you have a 2yo para with centrelink benefits.

    As for the hospital depende, where I work yung Med lab tech and MeS almost same ng ginagawa except when you are a Medical Scientist, you must have an extra responsibilities, like QAPS and lots of paperworks. As for the shift work depending on how big the hospital is, mine is 2 night shift a month, alternating weekends. Since I work full-time. Most hospital may permanent night shift but on since I work in a Medical Centre so 3 kame duty sa Nightshift. I know there are some arrangements in which part time who only works 2-3 times a week.

    I would have preferred na mauna yung isa, just so mas cheaper yung accommodation and work, then follow the rest of the family in 3 months. But then again its you and your families decision.

    @Ren thank u sa reply ms Ren, waiting nlng kmi police clearance d2 sg to be released this oct 30. Nakuha na din ni hubby ung police clearance nya today sa korean embassy. Sbi sa agency, after submission nito, 2-3wks nlng dw waiting time for visa... soo excited na. We will follow ur advise mauna muna si hubby dun. Sna pede sya mauna khit ndi sya ang primary applicant.. plan to go there this march ni hubby then kmi ni baby ko sa May.

    I will msg u again Ms Ren probably mga feb baka that time may kilala ka bedspace for my husband or any pinoy family na ngpaparent ng room. will start to view din ung links na binigay mo d2 s pghhnp ng room. Sympre focus makakuha ng pinakamurang room ksi jobless pa hehe.. sna din may opening by May sa company nyo hehe

    @Ren Hi there, waiting nlng kmi ng visa at patience is a virtue tlg sa pghihintay hehe.. Nakapasa din pla ako sa exam Ms Ren. Hopefully makatulong ito na mkahanap agd kmi ng work ng asawa ko. Once we got the visa, try ako apply online. Hope may pumansin hehe..

    Need din nmen sana ng info sang website to find a room for my husband or kung pedeng studio type muna khit wlang gamit, totoo ba ung nabasa ko d2 sa forum na mahirap mkhnp ng house pg wla pa work? I hope not.

    Re : accommodation, depende kasi sa scenario, definetly easiest by youself dahil madaming share housing. Kapag couple naman naman may mga places na nag accept ng couple sa share house. Its good to have a look on this forum first, then try other site like au.easyroommate, www.gumtree.com.au and realestate.com

    Mahirap if moving with kids agad since limited options since most for share housing would not allow family.

    Hello there! Dumating kmi ng family ko dito adelaide may 3, so 1month old na kmi. Nkakaadjust na din lalo na sa lamig. Apply online na din s SA health. Praying na magreply for interview.

    Nagregister na din kmi s free dinner s new migrants on june 20. Hope to learn a lot tungkol s pamumuhay dito lalo na s jobhunting.

    @Ren hopefully ma-meet kita. Thank u din for inspiration. Since nsa sg plng kmi, dream ko na makapasok s govt hospital dito adelaide. I know it will happen.

    Medtech po ako, at nag a apply for PR dyan sa AUS. Kakapasa ko plang po sa PTE. may agency po ako na nakuha kaso medyo mahal po at iniisip ko po kung ako na lang po mag aayos ng papers ko, alam nyo po ba panong mga step ang gagawin ko? Salamat po!
