Well actually, nung unang dating ko rito, ang unang pinuntahan namin was lunch sa ka-church ng pinsan ko. Puro Pinoy tsaka ibang mga Asians. May mga pinakilala sakin na Malaysian Chinese. I could not believe it - within three hours after landing in Australia, I was still conversing in Singlish! LOL

@cholle hahaha. by the way, when you're in Au, kailangan ba printed copies of resume, certificates of employment, academic records, etc? or softcopy lang lahat?

You can, pero ang practice dito tatawag ang agent or HR para hingin , you either email it or tell them over the phone, at normally pag nag ask ng reference ( at least 2 ) e 90% pasado ka na sa job interview

still better to have them :) don't throw them away.
In my opinion, documents are things you can always bring with you, especially since malayo ang pinas, at hindi na basta basta makakauwi to get more documents :)

    Hi po,

This question is specifically for ladies pero pwede din sumagot ang guys if may idea kayo.

Ano po ba do's and dont's sa attire and how did you manage na bumuo uli ng wardrobe e sobrang mahal ng mga damit dito!

I've gotten used to wearing jeans at work so I have to start from scratch sa pagbuo ng work wardrobe.

Ako plan ko before umalis ng Singapore is i dispose lahat ng long sleeves/ pants ko kasi gamit na and buy office clothes here in Sg and shoes. Lalo na ngaun daming sale kaliwat kanan. Favorite ko G2000 here, and kapag sa pinas naman wallstreet. Shopping in Melbourne is good, but i think more choices, cheaper and better to shop in Pinas/ Singapore.

Bale I will be working in a Big 4 firm po at client facing so dapata presentable talaga. Nung naginterview ako at pag naglalakad sa CBD, pansin ko as in corporate wear talaga.

Since pasyal kami dyan next week! :)

    better to shop in Pinas
    Ehehehe, parang I don't agree here... :)
Like SM megamall is improving na with their new block kung saan ung H/M store nilagay and other boutiques like superdry, zara, etc., the new SM Aura in BGC, Trinoma, Power plant mall in rockwell, Landmark, Improved glorietta mall, Greenbelt, MOA, sama mo na divisoria/ greenhills haha.

Singapore is hands down better. Orchard malls (shaw/ isetann, ion, wheelock, tangs, takashimaya, paragon, etc.), Jurong east malls (westgate, IMM, jem, jcube, etc), suntec, raffles city mall, marina square, jurong point, vivo city, bukod pa maliliit na malls sa mga different mrt stations, etc. for electronics nanjan funan, sim lim, etc. Tsaka pinakamalupit lucky plaza lols. Kaliwat kanan sale ngaun magpapasko, electronics/ clothes, etc.

Bale I will be working in a Big 4 firm po at client facing so dapata presentable talaga. Nung naginterview ako at pag naglalakad sa CBD, pansin ko as in corporate wear talaga.

Since pasyal kami dyan next week! :)

They have big H/M and Zara malls around that area din. Medyo kalat kasi speciality shops/ boutiques shops nila. I remember nun nandun kami we are looking for Superdry, GAP and Fred Perry shops. We need to google kasi ung iba nasa loob and nakatago, you need to walk, explore and look for it talaga. I bought winter clothes sa Zara and medyo mahal nga, pero maganda naman hehe. In terms of shopping experience, i would say pwede na. Hirap talaga kami that time is looking for a specific milk for our toddler (pediasure) and wala talaga silang brand na ganun.

    @cholle Tama! :-)

simple lang ang mga malls dito...from 9am to 5pm lang ang operating hours...except thursday na up to 9pm (WA)

then most aussies e walang pakialam sa mall...hinde big deal, unlike sa pinas na super dami ng tao sa mall...at karamihan pa na nakikita kong aussie e naka-paa lang! haha ginagaya ko nga minsan :-)

True, mahal sa Oz, esp branded clothing..

Better to shop in Pinas, yung tipong pang wardrobe na for each season, hindi na nahuhuli ang styles ngayon doon and nag-improve na ang quality even ng local brands.. dahil siguro to compete with global brands like Uniqlo and H&M..

Ang advantage lang living in Oz, baligtad ang seasons, like after ng Winter/Summer season in most countries and magkaroon ng End of Season Sale.. pwede na bumili in prep for the coming seasons sa Oz :)
