For starters, maganda ba prospects for Production/Plant Engineer (PPE) jobs in Melbourne?

I heard na parang center daw of manufacturing ang Melbourne.

Initially kasi tinitingnan ko ang Sydney for job prospects, pero parang wala ata masyadong mga planta doon?

@wizardofOz kamustahin ko ulit kyo at congrats ulit for your visa!;) well, curious png ako sa job description nyo na plant and production engineer.. ano po bng degree nyo in college? kasi gusto kong maghanap ng work sa mga planta sa oz particularly in queensland pero marine engineering ang degree ko and experience..pero sa tingin ko, ndi nalalayo ang work experience natin kasi isang malaking planta din ang engine room ng barko... basically, ayaw ko ng magbarko kaya nagpursue kami ni wifey na mag-oz... any advices din po sana makapasok sa mga plant and production jobs..thanks sir!

@toking bro yung Production/Plant Engineering kasi is medyo broad na industry, pero Mechanical- and Manufacturing-centric sya basically.

Like sa case ko ECE talaga ako, then yung mga planta where nagwork ako are producing electronic devices kaya lahat nung ginagawa namin like equipment qualification, hardware selection, machine operation and maintenance, product testing, parts and inventory procurement, creation of mfg procedures etc.. with regards to the production nung electronic products.. pasok sya sa description ng Production Engineer.

I assume ME din background mo and I agree na related talaga yung mga ginagawa sa barko sa activities in a plant setting tulad na lang ng monitoring and preventive maintenance ng makina.

Baka pwede ka sa Equipment Engineering sa mga manufacturing plants bro

@toking pre I agree with @wizardofOz. In many ways may similarity ang job function nung 2. In fact meron ako kilala na other way around naman ang case. Equipment Engineer sya sa semicon industry, then nag change job as Maintenance Engineer sa barko.

@toking just want to share my case. I am a graduate of ECE also. My experiences are mostly in maintenance in electronics manufacturing, instrumentation (pulp&paper) and automation&controls. I was assessed by EA as Automation and Control Engineer pero ang code ay ANZSCO 233513 rin (production/plant engineer). Tingin ko malawak ang range ng mga trabaho under ANZSCO 233513. Same rin sa ANZSCO 233999 or Engineering Professional Not Elsewhere Classified. I suggest try to consult EA. May nabasa rin ako sa ibang case dito na during assessment, kpag nakita ng EA na maspasok ka sa isang occupation, yun ang isa-suggest nila sayo.

Based sa initial research na nagawa ko (naks :bz )… may mga Electronics companies both sa Sydney and Melbourne.. walang akong nakitang Integrated Circuit manufacturer though, karamihan mga Medical instruments or mga Sound/Media/Broadcast equipment or controls..

Sa Brisbane meron din kadalasan silang manufacturing facility..

Hi @johnvangie musta na?

Initially ang plano sana mag-stay sa Sydney, may barkada kasi ako from college na nauna na doon last March, luckily nagka-work agad sa Telstra kaya medyo naka-settle agad. Nag-offer sya na mag-stay ako sa kanila nang libre hanggang gusto ko raw until makapag-settle ako, way na rin daw nila para makatulong…

Right now, honestly parang wala pa akong very clear gameplan sa paghahanap ng work, although in hindsight of course may time table ako sa mga plano, basically gusto ko sana once I get there makapag-work ako agad kahit odd jobs, enough to pay the bills and para hindi mabawasan yung baon… gusto ko rin sana kasi mag-aral sa Uni ng course which I always wanted to do na malayo sa Engineering… so see how that would play out also..

Based nga din sa nababasa ko, andyan sa Melbourne yung mga manufacturing kaya most likely baka dyan din ako makahanap ng work… Flexible naman ako sa relocation kaya ok lang kung saan may work, doon ako

Musta din? Wer very fine :-)

Oo tama yan plan, goal mo, mag-aral ka hanggat bata pa, hanggat may time :-)
Si hubby, nkapag inquire na sa Kangan Institute, malapit lang dito sa house, mag enrol sya ng Diploma in Quality Auditing.
Kaya naman ng schedule after work kasi every Thursday 6-9pm un class.
Kaso sa February 2016 pa makapag start kaya magpa reserve na sya.
Kasi Feb and July ang start ng class.

Mag research ka na ng mga school, para during jobhunting, pwede mo din isingit mag-aral.
Kasi un schedule din, para makapag enrol na.

Investment naman yan, kaya ok lang gastusan.
Dagdag qualifications :-)

ask ko lang po, in average this year, gannu katagal yung EA Assessment period for Production/Plant Engineers, I submitted all my scanned documents and paid last October 1, 2015, and still awaiting for assessment yung status nya sa EA My portal.
