hi takoyaimoster, you may want to try this agency sinclairconsulting.com.au , i was so foolish not to accept a job from them when i was in the Philippines. i dumped Australia for Singapore and i really regret the decision i made.

hello everyone! newbie here. do you think that if we lodge our application for residence now, there will still be available jobs for an IT professional by the time they approve our visas? im quite worried because it seems the IT job market is very competitive currently and seems to be nearing saturation level. any thoughts? thanks!

@indaydiego for statdec pede sa justice of peace or notary public using yung format na pang SG, last time nag-enquire ako 48sgd daw... pede din sa Australian Embassy dito sa Singapore mas mura pa nakalimutan ko na exact price pero more or less 30sgd, yung format ng Australia Stat Dec Act of 1959 ang gamitin.
Yan is based nung nag-enquire ako recently though ndi pako nakapagpa-sign ng statdec... in preparation process palang kasi ko.

I would suggest you to study atleast 2 years. This will satisfy DIACs minimum requirement. I did 2 year study on Masters in IT as well. It took me a while to get a job related to my course. I finished October 2009 and got the job November 2010. My student visa was supposed to expire April 2010 but because I studied 2 years, I got the Graduate Temporary Resident where it allows you to stay in Australia for 18 months to work/study/Professional Year. I finished IT sa PI and had IT experience, the problem here (1) madami competition (Indians/South Americans); (2) They ask for Local Experience (3) Visa - if they ask you about the validity of your visa and nalaman nila it will expire soon, umaayaw na sila.
Mas maganda din magstudy ka sa State na mataas ang demand ng IT. Any questions, let me know.
yeah i agree with you. although very much in demand ang IT very much din competition when it comes to qualification, mga ibang nationality mga tapos ng masterdegree. Karamihan Yun ang point of entry ng mga ibang Nationality they study for 1 to 2 years para makahanap ng work then para magkaroon ng permanent resident. too much money and very expensive mag aral dito tuition fee pa lang ang mahal na then kapag wala kang kamaganak na matutuluyan o tutulung man lang too much money magagastos mo. Kaya yung ibang international student parang ang nangyari eh its like a businessmen investing their own money in australia then after more years babalik din kanila yung nagastos kasi nakahanap na sila ng work na mganda at PR pa sila. I'm in Canberra dati naki share ako sa house. my fellow house mate mga nagaaral sa ANU.

kung hindi problema ang sponsor at willing sya mag-aral, pwde naman sya magstudent visa and then work to have local experience..
otherwise, the best is to find work experience sa pinas atleast 3 yrs... then apply as skilled migrant..

the best start is to look at SOL/CSOL.. kung nandun ang current skills/occupation mo, at gusto mo talaga mag-aral, i think mas maganda kumuha ng mga related courses/degree na mag upgrade sa IT skills mo...
mahirap naman kasi na magshift ka ng career sa healthcare (nursing), dahil lang maraming work after.. pero hindi mo nmn talaga gusto..
in the end, anu ba ang objective mo? kailangan mo ba ng degree para magka-PR? i guess not, kasi si mister eh pwede na magPR.. gusto mo ba ng mabilisang work? or gusto mo mag bago ng career?
goodluck..

Hi mga IT masters,
Ask ko lang mga mam/sir is it too late for me to study an IT-related course dyan sa Oz? I'm 26 y/o. I took a medical course in college here in Ph pero I didn't finish it (2 years lang). Nagtrabaho ako as a transcriptionist for almost 7 years. Plano ko sana mag-aral ng IT-related course kung matuloy dyan sa Oz and if kung swertehin ulit maghanap ng work in the IT industry dyan. I really wanna work in the IT industry. Do you think there are still job opportunities when I finish my course say in 2-3 years? Alam ko kada taon lalong dumadami competition dyan and also knowing pa yung ibang companies nag-start na mag-outsource sa India or Pinas.
Maraming salamat!

Hello vegmate,
Nakakagutom naman username mo hehe.. To give u an idea, madami competition dito at madami nagaaral ng IT. Nagpunta ako dito 2011 at age of 31 at nagaral ng masters in IT. I went through very tough times kasi kasama ko wife and 2yr old kid at the time. After I graduated kung anu ano ang pinasukan kong work kasi wala ako local experience although I have 6 years of IT experience in systems support.
Anyway, moving on to the good part. After 6 months pag tapos ko mag graduate I was blessed with an IT job as Systems Engineer and now waiting for my PR result.
Dont think of this as a discouragement but rather an advice of how you can plan your success here.

I recently arrived in OZ because I got direct hired from NZ. I'm in my mid-30s already but still I managed to find and land a job. The competition will still be there but you need to have edge against your competitors when applying for a job. In IT you constantly upskill yourself because technology changes. In my case, I started as manual tester in a Finance institution in Phils then I go a job offer and direct hired in NZ as software tester in MYOB. While in MYOB, I upskill myself to learn automation using open source tools and license one (like Test Complete and Telerik). While in NZ I moved to different industry like HR, SaaS, Banking & payment, Insurance. So now I have different domain expertise that's why I got hired easily. And up to know head hunters are calling me about opening in such and such companies. Some of them I go to interviews but most of them I turned it down. Also, when you got a job in the future, just talk to your co-workers get along with them even napipilipit na yung dila mo kakasalita ng english or nag nose bleed ka na kasi wala kang maisagot pag nagtanong sila syo. Because in one way or another they can help you... maybe you can ask them as your referee when you find a new job or they might refer a good recruitment manager. If you received a criticism, look as a positive side and learnt from it. Think who you can improved yourself from that criticism you get. I can still remember the first one, the dev told me that when I wrote a bug its so obscure and I speak with a funny american accent. From then I learnt how to speak and write like local (kiwi or aussie). Don't be afraid to ask, if there's a word or slang that I don't understand.
All the best

Guys, meron ba kau alam na kahit part-time na software developer??? salamat
Im currently working here in Dubai for 7 years as an IT Admin. IT din ang work nya. Kasama ko ang wife ko dito and my 4 year old daughter and she's now studying here. My wife is 6 months pregnant now and I can't imagine yung magiging expenses namin. I need to do something for my family especially sa mga anak ko. Kaya I have decided na pumunta dyan. I have read some forums at sinasabi nila na when it comes to your children future ok talaga sa AU.
Advisable ba na sabay sabay kami pupunta dyan or kami muna ng wife ko then we will leave muna our children sa pinas.

Good day po sa lahat!
Need your advice mga peeps.

Kung sa IT opportunities I can't really tell coz if you visit seek.com.au some of the headhunters have the same ads and as I read in this forum some are having to deal with 'local experience' excuses of companies and headhunters. If you got industry certification as you mentioned that might be your edge. Lahat naman ng nagrerelocate to another country will always face challenging situation that depends on you how you handle and tackle it. When i tried to apply here in OZ from overseas, it took me couple of weeks to land a job. At nasuwertehan ko rin kasi sinagot ng company yung relocation expenses ko like airfare for my family, shipment of our stuffs to OZ, accommodation and rental car. Try your luck malay mo you might have the same.
If you got work before you come here in Aussie you can go together. Because atm, we are one income same family size and we are surviving hindi gipid may konting ipon. Kasi nakapagpundar na kami ng investment properties.
All the best and good luck with your application if you push through with it.

@JCsantos, thanks for the comment, I checked your post and it looks like more on Desktop/server/network administration, I do have Cisco Certs but not in desktop/server side. Do you have any other position? thanks.
Based on your application experiences, what are the recruitment agencies that at least called you for a job interview? I can see that there a lot of recruitment agencies in Oz but would like to focus our time on agencies that really respond to migrants such ourselves.
Salamat po sa tulong!

Need your advice mga peeps.

If you got work before you come here in Aussie you can go together. Because atm, we are one income same family size and we are surviving hindi gipid may konting ipon. Kasi nakapagpundar na kami ng investment properties.
All the best and good luck with your application if you push through with it.

Based on your application experiences, what are the recruitment agencies that at least called you for a job interview? I can see that there a lot of recruitment agencies in Oz but would like to focus our time on agencies that really respond to migrants such ourselves.
Salamat po sa tulong!
