how long does it usually take for the tax file number to arrive??

  @elena05: Hi Elena! Tama yung sinabi ng nasa ATO. All you need is an australian address and 1 valid ID. Ang ginamit ko is passport. They will send it to your address, all you have to do is wait for it in the mail. No need to go to Aus Post. I'm not sure bakit nasabi na need mo claim? I got mine around 2 weeks lang po after I applied for it online and it arrived at my current address. Hinintay ko talaga kasi sinabihan ako na pag wala ako TFN, baka I will be taxed 45%. Buti na lang dumating in 2 weeks.
  
  Maybe you can inquire again from ATO if they have mailed it to your address already? Or baka en route na and di pa lang dumadating?

  hi guys i requested my tax file number almost 3 weeks ago, the email notification said i have to go to aupost and present 3 id's. when i went to aupost. they are strict about the id's and i only have my passport as the valid id cos they are not accepting filipino id's and i arrived a month ago. and the lady from aupost said she couldnt help me....... so i went home, and call the number given. the guy i spoke with from the tax office said he doesnt know why the email told me to go to aupost. and that all i need to do is to wait for my tax file number to be mailed within 28 days.... i dont know what to do.. is there anyone here who experienced the same thing that i am experiencing right now?? thanks po sa magrereply

  can't be of any help as ours was pretty much straighforward; we applied online and we got the tfn within 3wks

  hi elena05, i applied mine online din pagkadating ko dito last month. After 3weeks din nakuha ko sa mailbox pero tinawagan ko din sila to ask for my TFN kasi kailangan kona for my work, naprovide naman nila agad then within the same week nakuha kona. Pag online mo inapply, no need to present any forms of ID. how did you apply po ba? if fiance or spouse visa, pwedeng online application lang. more than a month kana po kaya normal na hinihingan ka nila ng ibang IDs.

  yep pwede mo sila tawagan to ask anong TFN mo. pag available na yun, mapprovide naman nila over the phone. Yung letter from them one page lang with TFN. if you urgently need it for work, i suggest you phone them po. available na siguro yan.
