Hi guys, I've been following this thread for about a month, and it has been a big help. Yesterday i took the exam but I didn't quite do well sa speaking part. Sad but hopeful paren. Here are my scores : Listening 72, Reading 72, speaking 60, writing 86.

I am scheduled for another take this 14th July 2015, and praying na sana mapasa ko.
I am using Macmillan as reviewer!
Prayers for those who will take the exam!

ikaw ba un? lol kasi pinoy ung katabi ko kahapon.. hehe

Anyway salamat po @CPAofOz , will try my best nlng ulit this 14th July.
2 times nko ng ielts, all of which 7.5 ang speaking ko pero kinapos sa writing ng .5 that's why i tried PTE when i read this thread.
Nahirapan ako sa graph eh. hehe

@rachevirgo sayang yung score mo sa speaking. probably na glitch ka din or hindi nacapture maayos yung voice mo or may narinig na ibang sounds. do you click next right after you give your response? you think enough na po yung loudness ng voice mo when you took the exam?

Hinihintay ko kasi ang computer na mg recording complete kahit tapos nko mg salita bka isang possibility din un..
Nabasa ko after exam na, dapat pala after recording click next agad para wala ng macapture na unwanted voices / sounds. Lesson learned, hehee.
Malakas naman din po boses ko, ayus lng. Positive paren hehe.. Bawi nlng ulit..

@ch3ster tama yun don't give up..ako I took IELTS 3x tapos bumagsak din ng first take ng PTE and then yung second naipasa ko na..basta focus lang at syempre maramig baon na dasal...good luck sa second take

Ask ko lang, sa pearson website ayaw n i accept yun log in name ko and they suggest to create a new one. Worried lang me if i create new, di ko n ma access yun online review and score test. But i plan to book for a test next so i need a new account.

@Julian hi, you mean po ba hindi mo maaccess yung sa ptepractice website? for booking the actual exam, you will be logging in/creating an account in another website (pearsonvue.com/pte) ..they are independent with each other po

for your ptepractice, if you can't access your account. try contacting their customer service.. pero baka hindi sila 24/7. check mo nalang po schedule. they are usually quick to respond

Kala ko nga ang staff sa bright e dun natutulog. Haha.. Kasi one time parang nka paa lng yung isang staff.. Lol.. Tpos bigla ko sya tinanong.. Dito po kayo ntutulog?!! Haha.. Ay di po.. Biglang sagot.. Maaga dw kasi sila every sat. 6 am..

haha.. sakin naman nung first take ko, dalawa lang sila dun.. 7.30am na kala ko wala tao..tapos nag doorbell ako. nagulat ako nakashort lang yung babae tapos slippers. haha
tapos makwento sila..informal.. hehe.. ininterview pa kasi ako kung para san yung exam.. nagsinungaling pa ako, sabi ko student visa..tapos diniscuss na na nagproprocess daw sila ng student visa for free.. haha

anyway, sa first two take ko.. sabi ko student visa ko gagamitin.. kala ko makakatulong sa scoring.. hahaha sa 3rd take, naging honest na ako. kahit dun sa personal introduction, sabi ko i wish to immigrate in australia soon! haha buti naman naging ok ang result.. haha

dont worry I'm sure you will ace it next time. Nahirapan din ako sa speaking akala ko doon ako sasabit, lalo na sa describe graph/image at retell lecture.

For those who are taking the exam, here are some tips;

For repeat sentence, minsan kasi gusto natin magsalita agad para hindi natin makalimutan yung sinabi, pero dapat hintayin mag change yung status to "recording" before ka magstart, para sure na recorded lahat ng sinabi mo, may 1 or 2 seconds interval pa bago mag change yung status. Then after repeating the sentence naghihintay ako ng 1 or 2 seconds then press next na agad para wala nang marecord na unwanted noise.

For retell lectures at describe image/graph, nauubos ko palagi yung allotted time, minsan hindi pa ako tapos magsalita. Yung pag-grade nila sa speaking hindi sa substance pero kung paano mo siya i-deliver, natatandaan ko may dinescribe ako na graph and napagbaligtad ko yung data, at iba iba na yung nasabi ko na hindi naman tugma dun sa graph, pero tinuloy ko na lang, kaya nga ako nagtataka kung bakit 90 ako sa speaking, akala ko sablay or pasang awa lang. Advantage din siguro ng mga lalake sa speaking kasi mas buo at malakas yung boses namin.

For listening naman, time management is important, unlike sa ibang section/questions yung timer is para sa buong listening section, ikaw na bahala mag manage ng time mo, medyo nagahol kasi ako sa oras, kasi natagalan ako doon sa summarize the spoken passage. Tinry ko habulin yung oras doon sa multiple choice, i-skip ko sana yung question kasi pwede ko naman hulaan yung sagot, kaso hindi pala pwede mag next hanggat hindi tapos yung speaker!

I strongly suggest din to try the paid test in ptepractice, malaking tulong yun para mas lalo kang maging familiar sa exam structure. Unlike sa Mcmillan, doon timed talaga and continuous yung questions, you will experience the same pressure in actual exam.

Yung sa listening, i think yung score is affected din ng speaking... Like yung sa answer short question.. 1st take ko di ko na sagutan laht ng tama.. Pero nung 2nd ok na lahat.. Tpos ng improve score ko.. From 78 to 90.

Eto po ginawan ko per MODULE TYPE yung lahat ng questions.. Para ma assess po kng anong question types na ka affect sa particular module ng pte..

May ganito na rin sa score overview shared by Pearson although per question type naman ang hatian nila.. Sana makatulong..
