@Bryann - Hi there. I’ve done financial and management accounting in the past, plus a little of US taxation. In the headhunter interview, tinanong yung qualifications. So I said that CPA ako sa Philippines and willing to achieve licensure here. Sa employer interview, walang questions regarding license. Lahat ng tanong tungkol sa experience ko.

@olan - i suggest you start 1-2 months before arrival. That is what i did and it worked! Nakakuha akong response (phone interview and then schedule for personal interview) a day after Then i got the job a week after landing here

Swerte nyo naman po hehehe! Sa akin walang sumasagot siguro dahil annual holiday ng mga recruiters.

@021607 so the key words we're suppose to say to headhunters are "willing to achieve licensure " hehe It's good to know willing mag-endorse ang headhunters ng ganitong setup!

mga sirs tanong lang po...

I have a few relatives in Launceston, Tasmania and they are willing to accomodate us (me and wifey) while hunting for a job. However, being in the IT field I believe the opportunity to land a job are higher in Melbourne or Sydney. We prefer the former. Having said that, eto po mga inquiries namin and hope you can give your inputs:

1. If for example we decided to stay for the time being in Launceston while searching for a job, will the employers still require a face to face interview? Or phone interview will just be fine?

2. If the scenario above is not feasible, our plan is to just visit my relatives there for a week and move to Melbourne afterwards so that we can have a better chances of finding a job. Do you have any other suggestion which could be of some help with our situation?

Sino po may magandang format ng Australian resume dito? Parang ang haba kasi ng resume ko 4 pages yata gusto ko maging maigsi lang at Australian format.

Ako naman nagpasa pasa ng ilang resume sa Seek. Wala pa naman ako balak lumipat sa AUstralia pero tinetest ko lang ang maket muna. May ilang sumasagot na recruiter,spero preferred daw ng clients nila nsa Australia na ako. Nag invite nalang yung recruiter Linkedin for continous connections

Yung mga CPA sa pinas, ok din tuloy nyo CPA Australia. Tingin ko hindi naman ganun kahirap pero magastos nga lang

. Start muna kayo pa assess para maging Associates then may ilang exams for professional path. Ako kasi right now nagiisip kung CPA Australia or CFA path.

Normally sa abroad skillset and experience talaga ang nagdadala, then pang add lang yung certifications unless fresh grad ka or entry level siguro. Then preferred is global certifications or certifications mismo sa bansa na yun. Feeling ko dito sa Singapore walang weight masyado ang pinas certifications even the schools, baka ganun din sa Oz.

Pwede din meron sumunod na isa pang phone interview. So if 2 yun, HR + technical. Tapos meron din final/closing interview. Tapos pirmahan na. Hehehehe.

Yup mas maganda po, pero meron naman po mga exceptional na individuals like sa katauhan nina @icebreaker, na nasa Pinas pa lang kinukuha na ng mga employer. Haha.

@killerbee @LakiMasel pag direct hire, meron pailan ilan na papayag ng skype. pero kapag through recruiters, usually priority nila ang nasa AU na at pwede mag personal interview. pinapupunta muna kasi nila sa office nila bago nila iendorse sa clients.

share ko lang, husband ko rin nag-kocollect na sya ng maraming rejection letters.. nagta-try kasi sya mag-apply as early as now kahit sa Jan 2016 pa kami mag-move. para just in case someone is interested, mauna na sya umalis. according to some of our friends, recruiters are more keen if you are already in AU. pero hopefully, who knows he gets lucky kaya try lang muna ng try... he's an engineer nga pala and he has experience in energy industry. ako naman, I have not started applying kasi I'm focusing on my cpa program. I will enrol this 2nd sem and while we're not yet in Au, mag-start na ako mag-aral para mabawasan naman yung 3 yrs ko on my road to becoming a CPA.

pero I will ask my husband to try direct hiring. pero most of his applications are directly submitting CVs through the company's job portal pero na-route sya sa mga headhunters nila.

Karamihan din ng mga tumawag sa kin before is within a month or two ang availability ng applicant. Kaya minsan mahirap din mag apply ng sobrang aga sa availability mo. And after ma-shortlist, preferred nila na personal interview. Unless agent na pedeng phone muna. Me agent kase ako na nsa Sydney kahit nasa Melbourne ako and sa Melbourne din yung client. So phone lang kmi nung agent. Pero pag client interview, usually personal talaga.
