Grabe gusto ko lang ishare ang aking kasiyahan ngayong gabi. Nagtake ako ng PTE exam kaninang umaga at kakacheck ko lang ngayon ng result. Di ako makapaniwala na magiging ganito score ko. At paulit ulit ko pang dinownload yung pdf copy para lang makasigurado na eto talaga score ko.

Listening - 86
Reading - 81
Speaking - 90
Writing - 90

Grabe ang struggle ko sa Speaking and Reading kanina. Maraming maraming salamat sa lahat ng tips and review materials na shinare nyo dito. Nakatulong talaga sya. At kay Lord, pinagdasal ko talaga sa knya kung tama ba decision ko na magPTE. Nung nagtry ako ipractice yung describe image and retell. Sabi ko mag IELTS na lang ako uli kasi sobrang hirap. Pero pag nakikita ko na may pumapasa and yung mga words of encouragement dito nagkaron ako nglakas ng loob na itry. Niready ko na rin sarili ko if hindi man ako pumasa. Tutal sanay namn na ko sa IELTS na laging sablay. At nag allot na ako ng budget para sa 2nd take. Finally, after 4 attempts sa IELTS nakalusot din sa PTE. Naiiyak ako hahaha...

Congrats sa 20 points.

Mahirap naman talaga PTE-A, pero mataas ang scoring so mas okay pa din to kaysa sa IELTS.

And kay Sis @bait0211 thanks sa pag reply mo sa mga questions ko at sa pagbuild up ng confidence ko. Naging matatakutin na ko sa exam dahil sa IELTS.

I just wanna share this bible verse....

This is my mantra on every exam. Pag stress na at unti unti ng nawawalan ng hope si Lord ng bahala...

Hi! Question lang, ok bang ung silver kit ang bilhin o ung gold kit? Or wag na lang at focus na lang sa mcmillan? Worried lang ako kasi di pa rin nagielts si hubby. As in first time lang tong PTE and self study lang talaga. Any advice?

@inGodsGrace hello sa iyo.. para sa kin bilhin mo na yung Gold Kit..honestly, nagtake na ako ngexam pero ngayon ko pa lang bibilhin yung kit na yan.. Yun MacMillan sa opinyon ko parang appetizer lang sya pero yung totoong exam itself, ang bilis ng pacing .. Yung reading ng MacMillan compared sa actual exam mas mahirap.. Yung writing ng MAcMillan medyo mas mahirap lalu na yung summarize written text kasi sa actual exam ko isang paragraph lang pero depende pa din.. Nung nag exam ako, 2 summarize written text ako ang 2 essays...Pwede ka ding mag timer while practicing MacMillan but ang daming nag suggest dito na better bilhin yung mock paid para ma feel yung exam talaga.. hanga ako sa iba dito na MacMillan lang inaaral nakukuha ng mataas na scores..

Na try mo na ba yung offline practice exam ng PTE? Nadodownload sya for free sa website ng PTE.. Ganun na ganun yung bilis ng exam

.. Try to compare it sa MacMillan para makita mo ang difference..I did not get good scores kaya ulit mode ako heheh.. ang tip wag unahan ng kaba while taking the exam kasi mawawala ang focus

Closed ngayon ang Bright Centre sa Ortigas. Dun ko pa naman gusto mag take ulit to claim 20 points dahil konti lang seats. Kelan kaya sila mag open ulit?

Eto na po naging experience ko kahapon sa exam. 7 lahat kming nagtake ng exam ( 4 indians, 1 myanmar and 2 pinoys). Bale 5 guys and 2 kaming girls. Nadistract ako nung sabay sabay ng nagsalita. Hindi ko na maintindihan yung binabasa ko. Pero pinilit ko talaga na magfocus.

Speaking & Writing
Read Aloud - Speak in your natural voice and accent. Don't be tense or nervous. Remember fluency, pronounciation, proper stress on words and sentences.

Repeat Sentence - 4 sentences ang hindi ko nakuha dito. Natandaan ko lang yung first 3 words na sinabi tapos nawala na ko. Kasi minsan mabilis yung nagsasalita at hirap sundan. During, my review madalas ko ipractice yung macmillan. At nirerecord ko sarili ko. I suggest listen to news and try to memorise set of words and sentences.

Describe Image - Eto yung portion na talagang nahirapan ako at nawala din sa direksyon yung mga pinagsasasabi ko. Same kami ng experience ni @ch3ster. Mali din yung ibang data na sinabi ko at kung ano ano nasabi ko para lang continuous yung flow ng words. May isa dun na merong 2-3 lines na caption sa baba ng graph binasa ko na lang yun para maka 35 sec ako. Pero dito I made sure na may intro ako about the graph and I describe the main trends. Habang naghihintay ako bago magrecording binabasa ko na yong graph at hinahanda ko na sasabihin ko. Hindi ko tinatapos yung 40 seconds around 35 sec click next na ko. Nagpractice talaga ako dito kasi mahirap sya sakin. Paulit ulit ko practice yung PTE sample test.

Re-tell Lecture - i tried my best to write down as many words/phrases as I can here. Dont forget to take note of the main point. Pag nagkamali wag ng ikorek ang sarili. Just keep on speaking.

Answer Short Question - mabilis transition nito from Retell. Nagpanic ako ng konti dito. Kaya yung unang question namissed out ko. Dapat talaga presence of mind and familiarity with the sequence of the exam.

Summarize Written Text - remember one sentence only and follow word count and yung idea kinuha ko sa 1st and last paragraph.

Essay - Dito do not spend too much time thinking what to write & how to arrange your sentences. You will run out of time. Start writing whatever comes to your mind. Allot 5 minutes to check your grammar, spelling & punctuation. My essay is 4 paragraphs 279 words. I follow IELTS structure.

Reading - be aware of the time and the number of questions left at the upper right hand side of the screen. Muntik ko ng di matapos to kasi nagtagal ako sa kakabasa ng passage. Tapos nagmadali na ko bandang huli.

Listening - nagpanic ako sa summarize spoken test. Kasi yung marker natuyuan ng tinta. Tapos nagsimula na yung recording so i quickly raised my hand at nataranta na ko kasi ang dami ng nasabi sa recording. Buti mabilis din response ng invigilator. Advise ko after gamitin yung marker takpan agad para di matuyo. Itake note yung key point ng topic & u can elaborate from that. The rest of the sections medyo madali na and practice using PTE practice test or Macmillan.

Hindi na pwede kasi matagal na, may time lang after pag take ng test yung remarking. 10 points lang kasi need ko at excited ako i-submit yung EOI kaya ayun. Pero di ko alam na baka malabo pala ko mainvite before birthday. So mag hahanap ako ngayon ng 5 points pag minalas. XD

Madami daw kasi backlogs tas yung mas mataas na points, yun yung una sa pila sa invitation rounds. Based sa trend nasa 1000-1400 ang 60 pointers per month so madami dami yun.
