hi guys! i will take the exam next friday, firstly, thank you sa mga pioneers ng post na to. i am eyeing this blog since it first started. I gained a lot of techniques, however this is my first ever english exam, hindi pa ako nagIELTS ever so im a bit nervous. In regards to this po sa mga nagpurchase ng kit sa PTEpractice, may mga exact questions po ba na naulit sa actual exam? wala na kong funds but if it will help me getting 70+ each subtest na i need para hindi na ako magbayad ulit ng exam fee sa retake balak ko isapalaran na ang pera ko sa kit na ito., i might be able to get insights and memorize some sample answers. but if it will not boost my chances ill keep the money nalang and focus on the macmillan. thanks everyone sa sasagot. i dont aim high score, yung target score lang na needed ko para sa APHRA. filipinacpa thank you sa tyaga mo to organize tips and ideas. im thankful na nakita ko itong site na ito.

@smile0127 i only used macmillan and didn't buy the practice test. some of the actual essay questions were consolidated here. the link to the consolidated file is somewhere on page 23-28. practice on describing graphs and trends. youtube was a big help for me. I listened to TED talks about education and climate change for essay questions. if you have the money to buy the practice test, it will give you an idea what the actual test is and you'll know your strong points and areas that you need to work on. goodluck!

@smile0127 hello sayo.. I took PTE exam last July 23 and honestly, regret ko na hindi ko binili yung paid mock.. I suggest na bilhin mo kahit isa lang.. Ako kakabili ko lang and I will treat it na as if eto na yung exam talaga.. Mabilis ang pacing ng exam.. Try mo idownload yung PTE offline and ganun na ganun exam..

Eto yung link ng mga essay questions sa PTE.. Umulit lang halos pala yung mga essay topics..

@inGodsGrace_ you cant pause it. Its like an actual exam na continuously 3 hours. You can break for 10 minutes before listening.

salamat din @cinnamon20, actually kinabahan ako na next week na yung exam. kaya bumili ako ng kit yung 2 score test para matry ko na ngayon yung exam so if may iimprove pa ako pwede ko pa gawin. i took the exam 4 hours ago at ito yung results ko

mas lalo akong naworry bakit ang baba, lalo na yung spelling sa pagkakaalam ko hindi ako nagmiss ng maling spelling. nawalan ako ng oras dun sa choose the right word at the end ng reading mga 2 passage di ko nasagutan so baka isa yun sa reason. Hindi ako gumamit ng headphones kasi clear naman sa laptop, baka masyadong mabagal yung pacing ko. guys, help naman sino yung may mga ganitong scores and how did you improve? anu pa kaya ang dapat kong gawin. medyo mahirap pala. hehehehe.. lastly yung written discourse ko okay naman yung grammar ko? at withim word limit anu kaya tips para maincrease ko ito? thank you sa lahat ng sasagot. @smile0127 mas madali yun actual kaysa sa goldkit, pero ok lang at least malaman mo yun weak points mo. Dapat gumamit ka ng headphones para masanay ka na, baka kasi di nare record yun voice if walang headphones.

@julian sa tingin mo malapit yung score ko sa katotohanan? im aiming for 65 overall. and im a bit disappointed sa score ko. itry ko ng may headphones baka sa tuesday then titignan ko ulit. salamat sa reply.

@smile Always double check your spelling, sometimes we might feel we spelled the words correctly but in reality, specially if we type the words at fast pace there will be instances that the order of letters will be substituted unexpectedly. To improve your written discourse, I suggest you find someone that will correct your essay.

Remember if you want to pass the exam so bad, you have to work as bad as you want breathe. Good luck

thanks @g_whin sa advice maghahanap nalang ako siguro ng site kung saan pwede icheck yung essay ko. i dont know anyone na nagchecheck ng essay ee. salamat sa encouraging thoughts guys. ill update my scores and challenges in the exam.

good day po sa lahat. I fail 2x sa ielts, laging 6 ang writing ko. Medyo natrauma ako sa writing. Nakita ko ang thread na ito. It inspire me to do the test again but this time on PTE A. I was browsing for the shared materials in this thread, and nagbabalak akong bumili for the kit. Question lang po sana : yung type of exam , sunod sunod ba yun pag sa actual, or randomly presented? like sa speaking , in the books it says read aloud,repeat sentence, describe image, re-tell lecture and answer question. Yun din ba ang sequence nya?

If it is already discuss on previous comment.. pasensya na po nasa p18 pa ako sa pagbabasa ng comment. Hope to get some answer. God Bless!

@Urlilangel_christy Yes, same sequence. Mabilis talaga lalo na sa actual exam. Same lang here, 4x na me nag IELTS laging 6.5 writing ko, the rest is above 7 or sometimes 8. Nakaka frustrate talaga ang IELTS, kaya try din me ng PTE, although I failed once, I'm still trying...

Yes, sunod sunod po. Try mo po http://writefix.com/ and practice your writing. I took the exam again last Monday but failed to get 20 points.

Writing 90 - Same score as before
Listening 90 - Went up by 10
Reading 64 - Went down by 16
Speaking 70 - Went down by 8

Naubusan ako ng time sa Reading. Masyado ako nag spend ng time sa isang question na mahirap. Hinulaan ko yung 4th-5th from the last questions and di ko nasagutan last 3 questions. Super fail.

First time ko sa Makati test centre. 6 kami tas distract ako sa boses ng ibang test takers. Tapos walang tint yung pen sa first Retell Lecture question ko kaya di ko nasagutan ng maayos. Bawal naman mag sulat hanggat di pa nag start yung exam so pano kaya ma-test?

Kelangan ko talaga yung extra points para ma invite agad. Isa pa! haha

@filipinacpa sis, any advice sa summarize written text, mas maganda ba ang score if Mahaba ang summary, or short concise is better? How did you overcome this part Po? And is it different questions Kapag Po nagretake Ng exam?o new random questions Po? Thanks so much.

Hello! i took PTE-A last Aug 11, 2015, in Singapore.
Eto results ko:
L-90 R-90 S-90 W-90

i hope my tips would help:
1. the louder your voice, the clearer it will be recorded.
2. improve your typing skills. very useful sa listening questions. more advantage pag kaya mo magtype ng di nakatingin sa keyboard.
3. Try the mock/practice exam, like all others are recommending.
4. Sa essay writing, make sure use correct punctuation marks and grammar. And as much as possible, do not repeat words. Use synonyms.

thanks! mag PTE ka pala...basta dont forget, malakas na boses sa speaking. 1st part ng exam, speaking na agad .
parang videoke machine yan, mas malakas na boses at di pahinto -hinto, mas mataas na puntos.

@julian i just followed all the usual tips from here and expatforum.
and i think practice exam is a must.
what i did differently are:
- i made sure my voice are well recorded by speaking loud. ako ang pinakamaingay sa exam room.
- im into IT, so talagang advantageous na mabilis ako magtype kahit di nakitingin sa keyboard, kaya fully concentrated ako sa listening.

napansin ko lang din na 2hours ko tinapos ung exam, dere-derecho lang, di na ko nag-break. mabilis ko natapos ung mga multiple choice questions. i dont know kung may effect sa points pag tinapos ng mabilis.

@gelotronic congratulations po. Question. Sa tingin mo po nasagutan mo lahat ng multiple choice ng tama? I mean you got perfect scores. So it means na walang mali? Im having difficulty sa pagmanage ng time ko sa pagsagot ng mga multiple choice lalo na pag unsure ako. Will it affect big time? O ang importante is you can talk fluently and write academically? Thank you.

Fault ko yung speaking, di ako nag prepare hehe. Dagdag na lang yung nakak distract na kasama sa test room.

Buong module na yun, kaya kinulang ako ng oras sa remaining questions kasi nag stay ako sa naunang mahirap.
