Booked my BTT exam, mas maikli ang Q sa SSDC pero ang layo. Read from VicRoads na we can only drive with foreign passport 6 mos after IED.

Plan namin mag rent-a-car para sa big move, which is most probably more than 6 mos after our IED, kaya asikasuhin ko na yung PH -> SG license conversion, so I can convert SG->AU license na din during our IED.

I read above sa reply ni @TasBurrfoot na a few minutes to an hour lang yung process, makukuha na ba kaagad yung card, or meron ba sila imamail pa? Thanks a lot in advance.

@markbaquin, Nov 6 yung test date ko, meron book for BTT, pero di pa ako nakaka bili, may mga practice tests din online. Kung matagal kana nagddrive i heard madali lang sya, pero yung mga question mapapakamot ka sa umpisa, pero matatandaan mo kaagad yung mga sagot.

@Tas, thanks for your reply, helpful ka talaga. Problema namin yan kasi wala naman kami address to post it to, lalo na sa Melbourne, unless they can post it to SG?

@jepricito ah matagal din pala ang test date. I downloaded some BTT test apps for SG & AU just to have an idea how it's done. Medyo madali nga sa marurunong pero may mga bad habits nga na hindi natin alam na kelangan tangalin. I downloaded a PDF about road signs and regulations and ang masasabi ko lang is mostly hindi ito talaga nasusunod sa PH. I can share it if anybody want a copy. Medyo nangangapa ako sa general na chapter kasi hindi ko alam yung stages on acquiring a license on SG or AU.

@thegreatiam15 when you say "may ph license na me", you mean you don't have a PH license yet? If you don't have it yet, I believe SG will not allow you to convert your license.

From what I've read, you should've got your initial PH license, before you got here in SG. Example, if you've been here for 5 years, your drivers license should be older than 5 years.

wala pa license no harm in trying naman paps once makaacquire na ako license uwe ako next year. hehe wala kasi kaming oto sa pinas

- For foreigners, your Singapore driving licence will be valid for 5 years from the date of issuance as indicated on the driving licence and you have to renew your Singapore driving licence with the Traffic Police Department within one month before the expiry date as indicated on the driving licence.

- For Singaporeans and PRs, your Singapore driving licence is valid for lifetime and no renewal is required.

walang requirements na nakalagay kung gaano katagal dapat license sa pinas para makapagapply nang BTT ayon din sa link : )

In WA, from PH license needs to take written exam and practical driving test
while SG license no more written exam and no more practical driving test, just have a picture at their office, pay the fees and WA driver license will be supplied.

Wala naman sinabi na number of years; the only thing mentioned are
- License is still Valid
- If not in English should have translated into English
- If you are arriving as a PR, you can only use your foreign driver license for 3 months and need to secure WA license.
- If you are arriving in a temporary visa (student visa, tourist visa, 457 or temporary work visa) you can use your foreign license license as long as it is still valid.

For my case, I am still using my Philippine Drivers license (also used in buying car) for 2 years now cuz I am still in temporary visa. Pero after ma grant na ung PR ko, I will have only 3 months to use my Phil. license from the date of my PR visa grant hopefully within 6-8 months from now.

Mas magastos po siya kasi, you will start from scratch the Learners "L" driver license.
Compared to having a Phil License where in you will just to take theory test and practical exam, after passing these you can have the AU drivers license (Novice Drivers License).
Also remember, for PR you can only use your Phil. license for 3 months from the date of arrival.

If dito ka kukuha ng license, these are the steps;
1. Get a learners permit
- fill up forms, theory test, eyesight test, medical test
2. Learn to drive (after passing the test in step 1, you will be given a Learner Guide and Log Book)
- having a "L" permit can only drive with Supervision of a Full driver license holder
- must complete a 50 supervised driving hours
- 25 hours (minimum) before practical driving assesment
- another 25 hours (minimum) at least six months after the Practical Driving Assesment
- Note hours must be logged in the Log Book and the cost of Supervised Driving is at least AUD 55/hour or higher!
3. Pass the Practical Driving Assessment
4. Gain experience as mention in Step 2, minimum of 25 supervised hours
5. Complete the Hazard Perception Test (must meet the requirement, like Log Book has been completed and signed)
6. Get a Provisional License P (can drive on your own with restriction, after 2 years you can upgrade your license)

Each step involve FEEs and is not that cheap!

-1. Student Drivers License muna, After a month of having this license saka lang pwede mag apply ng Drivers License either Professional or Non-Prof.

@Azriel kaya po yan 1 month sa pinas. student permit muna, after one month palit ng non-pro. Dito nalang po kayo mag-aral magmaneho, di nyo pa makukuha bad driving habits sa pinas.

Hi! whats the best/cheapest way to fly from Singapore to Adelaide? (i don't mind connecting flights max 1 stop) I read from somewhere that you can get max baggage allowance (40kg) if first time migrant? Possible ba ito with Jetstar or tiger air? been trying to search the forums, nakabaon yata ang info sa mga threads di ko makita eh. Please share your experiences. thanks in advance for any info!
