    @NicoDC thanks. may schedule na ako ng IELTS next week e, kapag di ko pa nakuha ang kailangan kong score, baka i-try ko na itong PTE. Same day lang ba lahat ng test (Listening, Reading, Writing, SPeaking)? Mga ilan hours lahat?

    Bale ginawa ko eh medyo nilakasan ko lang boses ko sa actual, tapos feeling ko mas maganda yung headset sa actual, samsung headset lang kasi gamit ko sa practice eh hehehe. Tapos basta dere deretso ka mag salita kahit ano na sabihin mo pag wala kana maisip, at be aware sa format para di ka ma shock tulad ng nangyari sakin hehehe

    I took my PTE-A exam last 17Oct and lumabas na yung result ngayon lang 19Oct, 5AM. Nagcheck agad ako ng email bago magprepare sa pagpasok sa work, hehe. Ok naman ang result at lagpas pa sa target kong 65 for all sections =). Salamat sa forum na ito dahil nalaman ko ang tungkol sa PTE-A. Kinakabahan kasi akong mag-IELTS dahil baka sumablay ako sa Speaking Test dahil malamang na mautal ako habang kausap ang examiner. Dahil sa PTE-A ay PC lang naman ang kaharap ko ay mas naging kampante ako sa pagsasalita. Unexpected din yung result ko lalo na at may mga mali akong nagawa sa reading at writing pero 90 pa rin ang scores. Salamat talaga sa mga reviewers at tips na ibinigay ninyo sa forum.

    Good news! Pasado nako, woohoo! Graduate na rin sa wakas ahahaha, well 10 points lang nadagdag ko 55 points pa lang ako ngayon, mas ok sana kung 20 para 65 at di nako papaassess ng work exp ko ulit. Pero baka mag pa assess nanaman nga ako kasi iba talaga reading sakin tsk.

    Took my exam kahapon sa SG at 9:00am hehehe. Bilis ng result hehehe. In fairness tumaas lahat ng grades ko, mas ok sana kung umabot sa 79 hahahah!

    Effective yung collocation sa writing, tumaas. Later discuss ko yung exp ko at konting tips hehehe.

    mostly pinag-aralan ko yung tungkol sa describe image through online materials at sa youtube. alam ko kasi na iyon ang weakness ko. sa macmillan napractice ko yung isang test at yung free materials from PTE website.

    Just to share my experience earlier, I arrived at the testing center 1 hour before the schedule. Surprisingly, they started to admit examinees 30mins earlier. 2 lang kami nun kaya we had a head start in speaking test. Walang distractions at ingay. Nasa summarize written text na ko nung dumating mga kasama namin at nag umpisa nang umingay. So for me, it really helped na maaga ako nagstart.

    Speaking - sinunod ko lang ung mga tips sa thread na to. Templates, templates, templates. Magprepare na kayo ng flexible na template na kahit iba ibang image lumabas, magagamit nyo. apat na sentence lang ako sa describe image and it worked for me.

    1. Type of Chart and title
    2. X-axis, y-axis
    3. Highest percentage is...whereas lowest percentage is...
    4. The chart is accurate and concise hence it can be used as a reference for future study.

    Tamang speed lang ung pagsasalita ko and was able to utilize 36-38secs. Same din ung sa re-tell lecture. Use flexible templates with academic words. For read aloud and repeat sentence, make sure there is intonation para mas clear mo mapronounce mga words.


    Reading - Wala ako mabibigay na technical tips dito. based sa mock exam ko, eto weakest point ko. So what I did was after mock test ko, bumili ako sa booksale ng book. worth 35 pesos. haha. then I finished the book as fast as I can while understanding the story well. It took me a week. Then I tried mock test again, and it worked! tumaas score ko. haha. not sure if it will work sa iba but for me, eto ung ginawa kong strategy to improve my comprehension and vocabulary.

    Listening - practice typing without looking sa keyboard. and ginagawa ko sa fill in the blanks, I typed in muna ung portion of the missing word. after ng recording, tsaka ko palang inayos spelling before clicking "Next". Same strategy will also work for Write from Dictation part.

    lahat na ata ng possible na lumabas na essay nanjan. I was very lucky since maaga ako dumating sa exam, nagbasa muna ako ng mga essays jan. Fortunately, ung lumabas na dalawang essay ko, nanjan pareho and I was able to skimmed it before the exam. haha. Kaya swabe na lang ung ideas during the exam. And familiarize collocations and academic words para maging "scientific" ung essay mo. haha.

    @OZwaldCobblepot oo nga ang bilis talaga. anyway parating na din un skn cguro. wala naman sana impact un ginawa nung receptionist, di ko kase magaya un signature ko sa passport ewan ko ba bat ganun un signature ko sa passport mukang compressed. gagawan daw nya ng report. tinanong ko naman sya anong implications, sabi nya wala naman daw.

    btw, I really recommend to take the mock exam. for as much as Php2,800, it will save you from retaking the exam which costs almost 4x.

    here are my results:

    Di ko natapos macmillan kaya mejo worried ako. Pero it turned out well naman. Just follow the tips here and focus sa weakest point to save time lalo sa mga busy kagaya ko. :)

    Depende ata sa location, pag sa pinas mas mura alam ko compare sa AU or SG or iba pa. Most likely nag lalaro sa mga 9-10k php siguro.
