    I guess random check lang, last year nasa Melbourne and Sydney kami wala naman. Hinde naman kami naharang or napahinto for lugggage check more on questions lang from customs officer tapos the usual xray scan ng luggage.

    Mukhang poor cguro kasi ako then mga sagot ko sa tanong kung ano gagawin ko sa Aussie was magt-tour sa different states.Hind cguro makapaniwala, kaya pagdaan ko ng immigration pinapunta kaagad ako sa border security police for questioning then akala ko ok napagdating malapit na luggage scan pa-exit, yun dumating yung the same police then pinatabi ako from the line for further check.

    @bryann: Sabi sa CFO seminar, $10k per group or family, kse daw considered kayo as 1 entity kaya 10k Lang ang pwede. But I guess pwede naman cguro magdala higher than 10k Pero I-declare nyo Lang. And also provide financial documents to support Kung Saan galing ung pera para just in case Na tanungin nila may mapapakitang docs. Hth!

    Here is what is mentioned in http://www.customs.gov.au/site/page4443.asp#items,

    Currency
    There is no limit to the amount of currency you can bring in or out of Australia. However, you must declare amounts of A$10,000 or more in Australian currency or foreign equivalent. You must disclose any promissory notes, travellers’ cheques, personal cheques, money orders, postal orders or other bearer negotiable instruments, regardless of value, if requested by a Customs and Border Protection officer or police officer.

    But if I were you guys, para iwas aberya na din either sa AU immigration or Philippine immigration, most specially, try to bring na lang below 10K. Think of other ways on how you can send your money to AU like bank transfer, ATM withdrawal, etc. It may entail cost such as bank fees but saves you the pain of going through possible interrogations.

    I think kahit 1 family kayo, let's say a group of 4 people, 2 dun are PR visa holder and 2 are Tourist visa holders.. you also bought your tickets separately.. considered as 2 units kayo. Ang sinasabi sa CFO is 1 family.. 1 ticket transaction.. so considered as 1 unit yun.
