  @ironman_gray22 I did not ask for the monetary assistance. I just asked them a general question kung ano ang mga assistance that they provide for a new migrant like me, then I asked particularly if they assist on finding a job (I attended PDOS too and yes na-mention din sa seminar na centrelink can assist). unfortunately, they told me they don't and I think ang tinutulungan nila are mostly the aborigins &/or Torres Islanders. sila kasi yung karamihan na nakita ko sa Centrelink office. plus yun nga kapag may anak ka, then you can benefit from centrelink. Visit the centrelink na lng din when you arrive here, no harm checking
  
  

  @jennie19, aww saklap naman kung ganon. akala ko pa naman may ganon silang service. Anyway, pupunta pa rin naman kami kasi apply kami ng FTB later on. hehe. Thanks anyway. God Bless sa paghahanap ng work.

  May 2 - 6, 2016 - Phone interview, face to face interview and job offer! Got Engineering job. Worth the wait.
  May 9, 2016 - Start my first day of Work in Australia as an RF Engineer.

  1. which state ie. Sydney are residing in
  2. how many years of experience did you have
  3. which technology do you specialize in
  
  I will be flying to Sydney by mid Feb or early Mar and currently researching on success stories such as yourselves to set some expectations for myself (so I don't get surprised on the difficulty to securing a job)

Getting a visa is one, pero pag andito ka na tas wala kang mahanap na work, parang inde mo ma enjoy yung ganda ng straya! Pero dasal din tsaka gamitin lahat ng available resources para maka hanap ng work. All the best sa inyo. Brisbane naman ako. Pag nakagalang Sydney pasyal pasyal ! heheh

  Actually wla akong alam na marerefer na work sayo kabayan, especially wala akong alam sa skills mo or field ng work mo...
  
  Pero nung nawalan ako ng trabaho at nangailangan ng pera... Nkiusap ako sa friend kong australian na baka mapahiram nya ako ng funds pero instead na sariling pera nya yung ipautang sakin,, Nangutang sya sa Swoosh Finance ng 1200$ pero dapat sa sahod nya mabayaran ko daw sya... bali ako nagbayad nung tubo ng inutang nya dun... pumayag na rin ako kasi gipit na ako nun.. which is dahil dun nakakuha naman ako ng pangapply ko for ten days...
  
  Kung tatanungin mo kung nabayaran ko sya agad... 2 months ko pa sya nabayaran kaya talagang napiga ako nung binayaran ko sya....

  it took me 2 months to land my first job...pero odd job yun..casual sa gabi pasok ko (5-10 usually) naipasok ako ng kakilala ko na chef dun sa resto nila.
  
  Feb 1 I will start with my new job (after 5 months) related sa IT.
  
  Came here August last year..madami talaga energy pag start pa lang..pasyal onti ng first week then a week after start na mag send ng resume. start na din mabuhusan ng rejection mails hehehe hindi ko na maalala yun exact timings pero ganito dinanas ko..
  
  1st Interview - took 1 hour..ok naman yun interview but they thought I am over qualified for the role and may tendency siguro na mag hanap agad ng lilipatan. they never called me again even after asking for feedback.
  
  2nd - lead role pero mukhang hindi naman ako fit sa role and medyo hindi ko gusto yun lugar..anyway never heard anything from them.
  
  3rd - business analyst/app support role maganda yun naging interview with HR, then they invited me for next round of interview..with details to follow thru e-mail. Pero wala ko natanggap so I followed up..learned na they had the role put on hold for some reason and they will just contact me pag may updates na..the next update they said they cancelled the role.
  
  4th - analyst role, again I was asked why apply for a position na mas mababa kesa sa experience ko...pinay un hiring manager so I really thought may edge dahil ok naman yun interview (this time nakapag research na ko na magandang sagot sa overqualified questions)...after a week I heard from them they decided to outsource the position offshore...in their Manila office! ha!
  
  -----end of oct or mid nov na ito..and I'm beginning to get depressed kase yun pressure na malapit na mag holiday and the inputs I heard na mas mahirap pag holiday wala na masyado hiring. I was thankful na may job ako nad yun partner ko kahit papaano. Tapos ang kalaban ko yun konting pride na kesyo maganda yun career ko sa pinas pede naman ako bumalik sa pinas..ipon muna ulit ng pera at lakas ng loob, 5 years naman yun validity ng Visa tapos miss ko na lahat sa pinas..as in depressing talaga. Tapos 2 beses ako napaiyak na lang nasabi ko anlaki laki ng ginastos natin para lang sa odd job? yan talaga naging kalaban ko...nagpalakas na lang ng loob ko eh sa part time na work ko 5 hours a day 3 hours lang talaga actual work...I was earning the same money sa work ko sa pinas na patayan..hehehe tapos mas matipid ako dito kase walang bayad sa parking, libre dinner, may baon pa from the pub...swerte kase may mga pinoy ako na kasama..inalagaan naman ako hehehe nakakapasyal and nakakakain sa labas kahit papaano. don;t get me wrong I dont have anything against my odd-job in fact I did well show up on time, pag need nila ng kapalit agaran oo lang ako ng oo..maayos yun trabaho ko and hindi ako nagsisimangot. bandang huli nga they wanted me to stay and alisin yun isang casula worker na madami excuses coz they need to cut hours...pero..basa next....
  
  nag stop muna ako mag apply sabi ko patapusin ko muna yun december kase allergic na ko ma reject muna hehehehe
  
  First week of January may tumawag sken HR ng isang company na inapply-an ko daw na ndi ko maalala naisip ko matagal na ko nag apply (I checked after the call Nov pa ko nag send ng application)...short interview...at this point numb na ako hahaha so hindi na ko masyado excited. They invited me for a panel interview with the hiring managers a week after...so wed ako nagpunta for the interview..yun na yata pinakamabilis na interview na napuntahan ko (30 minutes or so) iniisip ko na malabo nanaman kase un nga matatagal na interview wala napala eto pa kaya heheheh...tapos I asked them sa end nun interview ano yun tingin nila magiging shortcomings ko para ndi ma consider for the position. wala naman daw...medyo nagkaron ako onting hope.
  
  a day after...early morning...9 AM nakahiga pa ako nanonood ng Jessica Jones sa Netflix hehehe I got the call..offering me a job...senior analyst (Business Analyst) and they gave me higher than my asking salary start na ko Feb 1 they want me to relax daw muna..sabi ko dun sa HR...I am more than ready to come back...hehehe Friday I signed the contract.
  
  so ayun...I know hindi ako yun maganda sample in terms sa sipag sa pag aapply sa trabaho...hindi ko kaya yun isa isa inuupdate yun CV ko..generic lang isang CV lang pinapasa ko..minsan wala ako cover letter na sinasama...may araw na hindi ako nagsesend ng application..wala ko talent sa pag aapply. pero alam ko ndi lang yun ibang job seekers ang naging malaking kalaban ko dito...kundi yun sarili ko..hehehehe
  
  next naman na worry ko...paano matapos ang probation period na 6 months
  
  Good luck sten lahat...pasensya na sa haba..pero yun mga ganito kase kwento ang nakatulong din sken pag nawawalan ako ng pag asa...alam ko mag share din ako one day..so ito na nga yun

  I have received a response from the employer na inaapplyan ko, mas mabilis nga po yata talaga kung andun na:
  
  "I would recommend that you contact me upon your arrival in Australia so that I can gain a better understanding of your requirements. In the event that you already have a working visa, you will need to provide us with a copy of your work visa and any related documents allowing you to work within Australia.
  
  I look forward to speaking with you in the future."

  pwede ko na kaya sila ngayon i contact na papunta na ako ngayon sa March? hehe at may permanent visa na rin.. haha

  Got my 3rd rejection email yesterday then I asked for a feedback on what to improve, at eto po ang nakuha kong sagot:

  Not really, you have good qualifications and experience but we felt that others were better suited to the type of company and work we require. Any work you do for Australian companies I think would be well received by employers.
