Hi PR rin ako dito sa sg with a 3yr old son. First Check MO muna ung long term goal nyo as family. If ur planning to get citizenship or eventually going back to phils to retire. Kasi if PR sa sg lng ung pagusapan OK rin Un, however at age 60 if ur not bankable na sg will not renew ur PR and u have to go back to phils. Ganun din sa Aus. However, in Aus u can get a citizenship after 3 or 4yrs of stay there. Sa sg kasi wala criteria ang app for citizenship di sure if they will approve or not. I have PR friends who are working in LTA for 20yrs now and still can't get their citizen and ung PR ng youngest nila di na rin MA approve. That's the difficult part in sg wala kasiguraduhan.
Pero kung plan nyo naman na mag retire sa Pinas OK na rin sa Sg kau. How about education? Maganda rin kasi ang education sa Aus compared sa sg. Stress-free. Ung public transpo in Aus, preferably is to drive ur own car it's easy to move around. Sg is short term for me unless u get ur citizenship in sg. And wala work life style balance. Goodluck sa planning nyo.
meron pala nito dito. eto yung tanong ko sa thread na sinimulan ko. baka mas madaming makapagbigay ng opinion dito.

"Hello guys, me and my family (with 5yo son) are already settled here in singapore. We are PR with our own home and with a good houshold income.
Meron ba ditong makakapagbigay comparison between living in these 2 countries based on experience?
Im just basing on some blogs na nagsasabi na pub transpo in Aus is not that good and cost of living is almost the same with SG. Pati owning a house is expensive."

In sg they will only renew the PR if you are working in sg. If ur in a retiring age they will not renew it. I'm looking at a long term here. My client ako going to retiring age so I know that's where I realize it's not a wise decision to stay in sg for long term

Hi counterfeit that's a better idea. Right now mababa ang property market sa sg. Wait ka lng in time MA stable na kau in Aus u can sell ur property at a higher price. Totoo mahigpit na sg. Pababa na ng pababa ung benefits ng PR just so to differentiate us from citizen. God bless sa planning nyo.

@Counterfeit, we are in the same boat. Settled in SG, property, etc. All of us are PR plus my mom with us for the past 11 years. Dropping everything in SG to shift to Aussie. Good move for us? The benefits out weights the disadvantages in the long run. School is more desirable for my children, will have a mansion in terms of square footage as compared to 145 sqm of box living space, good weather to enjoy outdoor life instead of being stuck in the mall every weekend, can afford to own and take care of pets, cars are not capped for the rich and I get to keep them as long as I like. Healthcare is great! I have no complaints in making this decision to give my family a better life than what we already have in SG.

Same situation with me... We're now even Singapore Citizens but we still applied for OZ PR. Let's pray that everything works for us.

wow the latest discussion is indeed more convicing to make the big shift, reading @zapped and @killerqt. We are all PR in family for around 9yrs in SG but things changed in recent years. sobra xenophobic mga local today pero target is limited to few nationalities and sad to say including us. Though we love this place and grateful but its time to move on...not a good place to raise the kids.

Oct-14 Passed IELTS (L:8.5, R:9, W:7, S:7.5); Dec-14 Online Application to CPA Australia; Jan-15 Successful Assessment from CPAA; Feb-15 Submitted an EOI, Invitation to Apply, Lodge Visa, Upload most documents to Au IMMI; Mar-15 Uploaded NBI , SG clearances and Medicals (SATA); Apr-15 Received grant, Jul-15 entry date for myself, Dec-15 entry date of whole fambam (EID Mar-16)...Praise the Lord :)

Agree we also love SG. If you are single or no kids yet, SG is one of the best. But not for long term... naghahanap na kasi kami where we can retire. E ayaw din namin bumalik ng Pinas.

Ang problem lang namin ngayon is yung NS ng son ko when time comes.

@KillerQT and @ennairolf, totally agree with both of you. SG lost its love for foreigners in more ways than one. We had a good run. It's time to move on and look forward to a brighter future and a healthy lifestyle change.

@KillerQT, your situation is complicated due to your son's NS but if you can look at it as serving NS could become a positive reinforcement in your sons character then I'd say go for it. Win-win situation as they say. At least they get to learn something unlike the ROTC days where you just got through the motion to complete requirements.

@zapped - Yes I believe it will be good for my son's character pero its a waste of time. Just imagine instead na nasa University na sya or nagwowork na sya, he will alot 2yrs for the NS and then every year need pa nya pumasok sa camp. It's really a waste of time. Buti kung libre ang accomodation nya for the whole 2yrs since need nya lumabas ng camp every now and then.

Unless hindi na talaga babalik ang son ko sa SG which not so good din. Pero its a risk that we can take in the future. He's currently holding PH and SG passport. By the age of 21 he needs to decide whether he will take up PH or SG citizenship. But we are intending to get OZ passport as well if ever we decide after 4yrs in OZ.

@dreamoz boss, IT ka ba? mag PTE academic ka nalang instead of IELTS.

    261313 - Software Engineer (190)
    PTE = (20), Age = 26 (30), Experience = 5 years (0 - ACS deducted 5 years), Diploma (10) = 60
    NSW SS = 60 + 5 points.
    14-Nov-2016 - Direct Grant
    26-Feb-2017 - Moved to Sydney
