Passport Renewals in PH Consul Canberra

Hi, I'd just like to ask for some information about the passport renewal process in Canberra. I've already visited the PH consulate website about the process but I'd like to get firsthand information on how was your experience on renewing passports in Canberra? I've heard from friends and online posts about Sydney's, and most of them are bad. Some are saying that the process took longer that it should (this is the processing on the consulate itself, not the 8 - 11 weeks turnover), people are lining up outside the consulate, and the machines are not working properly. I don't want to try Sydney as well as it is too expensive to get and stay there. I just want to have an idea on how it is in Canberra? I haven't read any posts about it and just want to make sure to get my money's worth. Thanks!

I forgot to mention that I'm from Melbourne. So it's a bit far to go to Sydney than Canberra. There are overnight coaches here that goes straight to Canberra, so was hoping to try to renew our passports there.

@jersey.galvador Mine was renewed in Sydney weeks ago and finished it in less than 10 minutes. Service was good and i got my new passport in 4 weeks(including posting it from Sydney to Adelaide). I suggest, prepare all the requirements before going to the embassy/consulate. You have to pay in cash as cards/eftpos are not accepted.Availability of passport can be checked at the consulate's website. Check their mobile passport renewal schedule. There might be one in Melbourne.

Thanks @fgs ! Medyo mahal kasi magagastos sa Sydney e, so baka Canberra na lang kami. Pero sa mid-June pa naman target namin magparenew so baka magbago pa isip namin.

Hi paki check muna kung may consul office sa Melbourne. Pero kung Melbourne kayo at pupunta ng Sydney para mag renew ng passport. Mag Canberra na lang talaga kayo. Walang Pila at saglit lang sa Phil Embassy puede pa kayo pumasyal at mag ikot ikot sa Canberra after maasikaso nyo. My advise is tumawag muna kayo sa Phil Embassy for inquiry para sigurado kung anu ang form kailangan dalhin at fee, sabihin nyo na rin kung kailan kayo pupunta sa Embassy. Maganda kung may dala kayong sasakyan hindi kayo mag aalala sa parking staka libre pa.

hi @jersey.galvador I had mine renewed last July and had it shipped back to me last September. Walang pila nung time na nagpunta kami ng Sydney at medyo maaga din dating namin sa Consul, I think mga 8am nandun na kami. Before 12noon tapos na din kami. I recommend check with Melbourne Consul first kung merong mga mobile service na dadating, kung wala then other option is Canberra or Sydney. I recommend Sydney kasi dun kami nagpunta :P
Pero if you have the means of car transpo, I would probably go with @TotoyOZresident 's advise.
