How long did it take you to get a job?

pray hard lng po tau and keep confessing na makaka trabaho tau dito. d tau dadalhin ni Lord dito kung iiwanan lng nya tau. sobrang thankful lng ako ky Lord kc after 4 days na pag dating ko dito naka land kaagad ako ng trabaho na linya ko pa. To God be the glory.

Ano po line of work nyo, and how were you able to get the job that soon..? did you apply from overseas pa lang.. through referral.. would be great if you could share it since as we know very rare yung less than a week upon landing, may work na agad... Thanks!

Tama, mas ok talaga kung may connections ka. July last year kame dumating then apply agad si hubby. Almost 2mons na kame dito before ha landed for a job good thing same company sila ng sister nia at the same time madameng pinoy sa company nila. In my case, puro raket lang ako like housecare ang cleaning jobs, pero may na meet ako pinoy then ni refer nia ko as kitchen hand sa resto nila.. Tyaga lang guys!!!

. pagdating ko na talaga dito eh nag apply2 na ako sa SEEK, Gumtree, Adzuna, Google etc. Nagdasal lng po talaga ako at ibinigay lahat ng tiwala ko kay Lord. To God be the glory. wag mawalan ng pag asa, go lng ng go!

Yung kapatid ko kasi nasa BPO sya at australian firm ang employer nya.considered as local experience na rin ba yun kasi lahat naman ng ginagawa nya e para sa mga australian clients ng company nya. Sa BPO sya ngayon at pioneer daw sa ganun ang company nya sa pinas.mag-1 year na sya. salamat

Local experience means you worked in Australia. Of course pwede naman niya i-emphasize sa CV niya na he's been working with Australian clients.

@OZwaldCobblepot yup focus ako ngayon sa field ko talaga. Nag try ako mag apply ng odd jobs sa gumtree pero karamihan kelangan ng certifications, lalo na sa mga restaurants/coffee shops. Pag nag susubmit ako ng resume para sa odd jobs, hindi ko sinasama yung professional experience ko, baka kasi magtaka sila.

@jrgongon hello. nag apply din ako ng odd jobs sa gumtree, pero wala pumapansin ng resume ko.
Sa seek naman ako nag aaply ng related talaga sa field ko, naiinterview naman ako face to face pero ayun after ilan weeks 'rejection' email ang narereceived ko. Iba ang setup ng interview nila its more on behavioral/situational interviews.

Hi guys. Been here in OZ for over a month now and I'm very happy kasi nkahanap na ako ng work. It's just temp role atm though but still very thankful. If you have experience in insurance or call centre field you might want to apply as the hiring is immediate due to the recent storm. God bless you all!

I just want to share a very recent job hunting experience (actually, kanina lang. lol).

Right after the recruiter referred me for an interview with the company's HR, I immediately prepared for it and studied everything about the company and the job description - very impressive, with a wide range of products, longevity, etc etc.

On the day of the interview, the first question was about my most recent work experience and upon hearing that it was in the Philippines, they immediately told me that what they were actually looking for is someone with previous "Australian work experience". To think na multinational company sila at nakalagay sa company profile nila that they promote cultural diversity. LOL. I still defended my case and even told them that I've had Australian clients before, but my efforts may have been futile because I haven't met the first criteria. I know that I am more than capable to perform the job (which is not even a senior role), pero ganun talaga. So that was my first time to actually experience na totoo nga ang 'local experience' BS. LOL AGAIN.

Nakakahurt ng konti sa ego but I know this is just a setback and God has a better plan for me. Apply apply na lang ulit.
