Hello po, I and my boyfriend are planning to apply for visa to Australia and the threads here in pinoyau are very helpful but I have questions for our case, hindi kasi kami mag agent, DIY lang..
Highly appreciate your response!!

Background:
- 6++ years of work experience as financial analyst (1yr 7 months in PH, 4.5yrs in SG); work exp falls under SOL Accountant (General) ->specialization Financial Analyst
- BS Economics graduate, UPD

BF
- 4 years of work experience related to mechanical engineer which is under SOL

1) What are the requirements for qualification assessment from CPAA/ICAA/NIAA
- hindi ako accounting grad and based sa mga nabasa ko, it requires specific courses taken. If yes, 1 accounting subject lang na-take ko from my undergrad studies. What can I do to be able to get qualification?
Will this impact my # of work experience? (Based sa mga nabasa ko, may mga case na binabawasan ung work experience to get qualified)

2) Initial plan is I will be the main applicant since I have more work exp, however, if #1 will impact my # of work experience will it be better for my bf to be the main applicant?

Hi @ambhy298, please see my thoughts on your queries:

1. in the case of the accountants, hindi your skills/work experience will not be assessed unless you satisfy all the core subjects of your nominated occupation. Honestly speaking, if accounting 1 lang ung ntake mo na subject, hindi magiging positive ung qualifications assessment mo kasi kulang po.. ung mga kulang mo na subjects like financial acctg., finance, etc (based sa assessment ng CPAA/ICAA/IPA, kailangan mo magtake nung exam nila kaso once you've passed all those, zero years ung work experience mo. hindi sya katulad nung ibang occupation na nababawasan lang ung # of work experience.. back to zero tlg sya.

2. if maassess na qualified for migration ung skills ni bf, then i guess better na sya ung main applicant para mas mabilis. hndi na nya kailangan magtake nung mga exam exams.

btw, i'm from UPD din.

Kung main applicant si bf, hindi rin pwede magclaim ng partner points since hindi ako maqualify under accountant?

@ambhy298 hindi rin po.. kasi makakaclaim ka lang ng points if you get positive assessment sa assessing bodies..

@ambhy298 mas okay na yung partner ang mag primary applicant.. if abot naman ng 60 points without partner skills, wag na mag passess sa cpaa

Pwede po ba dun sa application form ng cpaa for skill assessment na dalawang occupation yung i-check (both accountant and external auditor) or only one lang po? Thanks po

guys, di ko masyado naintindihan masyado yung ibig sabihin nito dun sa site ng skillselect occupation ceiling for 2016-2017-

"*The occupation ceiling for Accountants was set at two and half per cent for the 2015-16 programme year, a further reduced ceiling of two and a half per cent will apply for the 2016-2017 programme year."

@shye428 minimum requirement is 60.. syempre the higher your points, the better so you can jump over sa mga 60 pointers

Hello! my partner and I are starting to compile the documents required for australia migration, and we want to claim the 5 pts for partner skills. They mentioned in the site that your partner should have suitable skills assessment. combined kasi yung experience niya sa audit and accounting and we are planninng for him to indicate accountant code in his application. he has 3 years experience sa general accounting and 2 years audit experience sa sg. do you think that is enough to get a positive assessment for him, besides getting at least 6 in ielts?

@maldita27 if you will be assessed for the skilled migrant visa, your husband needs at least 7 for each module in ielts for him to be assessed positively. Pero I think pasok yung audit + general accounting work experience sa general accountant.

@vamdcpa thanks po sa sagot. Ako yung principal applicant and nakuha ko na naman yung minimum na 7 in all subject sa ielts, siya yung secondary applicant if ever. sa partner di ba pwede na ang 6 which means he has competent english? yung basic requirements lang naman required sa kanya di ba?

@maldita27 Hi you are right your husband needs competent english. But if you planing for skill assessment with CPA/IPA they need proficient english that is minimum criteria. If he goes for Internal Auditor and assessed by Vetassess they need competent english.
