SUBCLASS 500 Updates

Hey everyone!

I hope I'm not the only one who's new to the current visa change.

I lodged my application last July 1 since June30 was the last day for filing Subclass 573. My documents were ready but VFS closed early and the DIBP won't be receiving new applications for 573 anymore. Our agent, IDP, was just as perplexed since the change was relayed on June 30, so stressed kaming lahat. We tried our best to lodge on July 1 for the new visa subclass and we did.

I did my own research and these are what I found out:
- Under the new subclass, all student applicants must lodge online via the ImmiAccount.
- The requirements have been reduced (or increased). These depend on the result of the assessment based on your country of citizenship and the school/uni enrolled in. For more info: https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/500-
- Payment has to be made by credit card. I requested a refund from the unused manager's check since online na ang lodging.
- They intend to "finalize 75% of complete student visa applications within one month".
- This might mean (hopefully) na mas mabilis na sya since the report from December 2015 stated na 75% of applications outside Australia "are finalised within 14-90 days."

I attached the necessary documents and paid for the visa online on July 1, 2016.
The results from my medical exams were received by DIBP on July 7, 2016. I tracked this on eMedical Client by typing my last name and HAP ID.
All I can do now is wait and hope for the best.

Hopefully, the results will be faster. Based on my readings on the SVP 573 applications, the visas were granted 14 days after the medicals. Hopefully, I'll get results soon. The waiting game is the challenge.

@kjjarina Master's ang kinuha ko. Swerte at tinanggap ng University. I only consulted with IDP pero actually you can just apply for the visa online on your own.

I think if good ang reputation ng education provider, meaning hindi kaduda duda, then lesser documentary requirements.

Iopen lang nang link then find the Documents Checklist. You simply click on the name of the school plus country of citizenship. Mogawas ra ang required documents list for your visa application.

hi @SiRen1991 what did you submit? a bank certificate or a 3-month bank statement?

@leelou I only submitted a notarized financial declaration for my visa. I also attached the CoE from the University. Yun lang. According to the documentary list, di na kailangan ng application ko yung proof of funds and financial ability.

Hi @SiRen1991 under subclass 573 svp din ako last assessment ko ask ko lang po if what is your course and your uni?? Kasi may nabanggit something about sa level ng school mo kung hihingan ka ng financial requirement regardless of your country of origin under 500

@aranayad I'm enrolled at UniMelb Masters of International Relations.
No financial requirement but I still uploaded my notarized financial declaration and IELTS result.

April 15 - Application sent to Uni
June 25 - received letter of offer
June 27 - paid tuition fee deposit and OSHC
June 29 - Received eCoE
June 30 - Medical Exam (P6000 for X-ray, urinalysis and checkup)
July 1 - Lodged visa application under Subclass 500
July 8 - received medical clearance
July 12 - Visa Grant

@vvilladolid1990 I didn't show any amount. I just submitted a notarized declaration that I am capable of funding my studies. Statement lang jud sya. First, you have to check the Documentary Checklist on the Subclass 500 link. It will show there if you still need financial evidence. It my case, it wasn't necessary but I still submitted one in my online application.

@mizlreese I applied by IDP but even they had no idea how to deal with the new Subclass kasi nga bago so I had to read off a lot of DIBP's articles and processed the immiAccount application on my own.

@mizlreese Actually assisted by my brother since I had work when he lodged it. Pwede kasi ma save so I could log in and check the answers and documents provided. We finished it in a day.
