Need an advice

DanyDany PhilippinesPosts: 16Member
Hi po! I just signed up here at sana makakuha ng advises.
Gusto kong pumunta sa Australia, specifically Perth, pero hindi ko sure kung pano. Naisip kong kumuha ng tourist visa muna then try to look for a work there then apply for a working visa next. May gantong scenario ba? Possible ba to? Hindi ko din alam kung pwede ba kong magapply ng tourist visa kasi wala akong permanent work since 2011. Freelance lang, minsan meron minsan wala.

Sana may sumagot dito. Thanks in advance!

Applying for a migrant visa, you should be in a skilled employment prior to application. In your case, it unlikely that you can get a positive skills assessment. A tourist visa does not have working rights so its unlikely that an employer will hire you, unless maybe your skills is sought after and you are highly skilled but the employer needs to apply first for a working visa before you can work. Without a good history of employment, applying for a tourist visa is also unlikely to be approved. You need to present a concrete proof that you will be coming back to Ph before your tourist visa expires. This is just my opinion. If you want to apply, then go ahead.

@fgs So you think I should apply for a migrant visa instead of tourist visa? Do you think music certificate from churches will count as proof of skills? Hindi ako graduate ng Bachelor of Music pero I have been a church pianist for a very long time and recently, an orchestra pianist. Pero kasi voluntary work naman yang mga yan. I don't know kung counted yan as a skill.

@Dany Check if your skills is on the Skilled Occupations List. Check also what are the requirements of the assessing body but i doubt volunteer work does not count towards work experience.

@Dany mahirap kasi ang Australia hindi katulad ng dubai or Singapore na pwede ka pumasok at maghanap ng work. Hindi practice yan sa Australia. :) you will be better if mag skilled visa ka like what others suggested po.

@fgs @Admin may question ulit ako pls (ty in advance!) so pano ung process ng assessment ng skills? Parang exam ba? Or kailangan mo lang magpasa ng proof? Tapos pano mo malalaman ung points mo?and then pwde ba un madagdagan from this skill to another skill? I'm giving myself a year to process this whole thing, enough na ba un or OA lang?

@Dany check www.border.gov.au/skillselect...your assessing body has its list of requirements and application is online(check website of the assessing body). You can only nominate 1 occupation. Points are based on Age, Qualifications, Work Experience, English Ability, Partner Skills, State Sponsorships, etc., If your skills is not on the list, you cannot apply.

If your nominated occupation is in the CSOL, you need state sponsorship to apply

@Dany kasi need mo mag nominate ng work mo as experience para may points ka. halimbawa ko ang nominate mo na work is accountant. to claim a point dapat may accountant experience ka na at least 3 years to get 5 points. minimum 60 points para ma invite ka to apply for a visa.
other thank work experience pede ka din maka kuha ng points sa:

    age
    English skills
    degree/qualification
    among others...

@batman @fgs @Admin thanks all for answering my questions. So I think I still wanna visit Australia muna to get that "feeling" na "ok, i really wanna stay here for a long time". Hindi lang din kasi basta work, total change of scenery din talaga so kung ipupush ko gusto ko sure din ako talaga sa sarili ko. So dahil nga freelancer lang ako for 4 yrs na, at hindi ako makakakuha ng COE, ano pa ba ang pwede kong ipresent to prove na babalik naman ako ng Pilipinas? Sana valid ung question ko.

@Dany provide as many documents to prove your strong ties sa Ph(i.e. bank accounts, maybe letter from the church where you play etc.) I cannot enumerate specific documents dahil iba iba tayo ng circumstances. Kung ano mang proof na mayron ka to prove na babalik ka then attach it in your application. Its up to the case officer na how you present your case. Employment pa rin ang isang matibay na basehan na talagang babalik ka.Do you have relatives in Au?

@fgs no, i don't have relatives in Au, its the reason why I chose Au e. Yeah i know, i wish i can just leave them ung kapair ng sapatos ko to assure them na "babalik ako, asayo ung isa kong sapatos oh." Lol. Anyway, being serious again..sana nga enough ung documents na meron ako or kung meron pang iba na pwdeng kong maproduce. Pano kaya kung letter from the church here kung san ako member tapos letter from the church din sa Au to assure lang? Pwde din kaya un?

@Dany as what i have said, attach to your application any document that will prove you will not overstay. Im sure may savings ka naman to sustain while in Au. How long do you intend to stay? If you can arrange prebooking of accomodation(without charging you on CC) then its also a good attachment

@fgs sorry kung ang kulit ng mga tanong ko. I only plan to stay for a week. I don't know about prebooking without charge. May nabasa kasi ako dati na wag magbobook ng wala pang visa.

@Dany Im just giving you options if you can. Yes it is not recommended to book prior to visa grant but based on your circumstances baka makatulong nga sa approval ng visa(if you can arrange a booking without charging your CC yet). Who knows, baka maconvince mo case officer to grant you visa.
