@adelaide_boi - correct dun nga ung Manila Trading.. Shop 14 Station Arcade, 52 Hindley St.. ..may daan from the Adelaide Railway station.. Nakabili nga ko ng sinigang mix, nde ko nman alam san bibili ng kangkong & long beans.

Guys ano pang-substitute nyo sa kangkong? hehe.. or baka may alam kau san nakakabili. Thanks

@sheryl0126 - magluluto pa lang ako sinigang this week. haha. i'm going to use ung parang baguio beans and spinach as substitute for sitaw and kangkong. LOL! i'll let u know how it goes

meron akong nakitang sitaw sa may asian grocery store sa bandang central market. nakalimutan ko lang pangalan ng store

pag napadaan cguro ulit kami, let u know ung name ng grocery store.

@emjdee - Mariana store cguro ung cnasabi mo dun nga sya banda sa Central Market, malapit sa library.. Cge meet nman tau, sa Sun may gathering sa St Francis Xavier church, after ng 11am mass, bka gusto nyo pumunta dun.. May post d2 c @bicolana about lunch gathering, may separate na thread & ng-post din sya sa thread na toh..

Or kung nde kau makapunta sa Sunday, i-set na lng natin.. Kc lagi kmi lng 2 ni @Ren ang ngkikita d2..hehe

I think that asian store on central market is called Thuan Phat supermarket emjdee. To be exact, nasa 4-6/75 Grote St. SA 5014. I know this coz a few days ago I bought Nagaraya there hahaha! Man I hope you guys are luckier kasi 1 month and a week na rin ako wala pa job

but recently I was invited to visit ASAP(Australia Sales and Promotions) sa may South Terrace. As usual I had experience with this recruitment centers and all they did was introduce who they are and their clients and say they'll just call if one of their companies take interest sa resume mo. Direct sales daw anyways still waiting but not expecting much. Kwento ko na lang the rest in person see you guys

Hi , I'm new here ...i'll be in adelaide on january 15.2013, i'm holding a student visa..baka pwede patulong sainyo for affordable or cheap accomodation , kahit short term lang muna, yung meron lang ma stay-han pagdating..pero kung long term ang offer mas mabuti...yung malapit sa ...God bless and ingat kayo dyan...:) hope may magtulong..:) CBD or 10 mins away will do..

i just received good news that my PR application has been approved. im planning to move Q1 2013. i have high hopes. kaya lang when I look at seek job search engine there's only a few...
then, when i checked the http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/business/states-leading-in-jobless-rate-rise/story-e6frede3-1226424381264 in Adelaide, i was alarmed a little.

for those in IT particularly Software Testing, kamusta po ba ang industry at markets nowadays?

i find this alarming as well. at sa SA pa talaga natapat. tsk tsk. as for other members here, i think @sohc has something to share about this. from what i've read in his posts it's the contrary.

@white_grin pareho tayo, yan din ang worry ko, i was really hesitant to apply for SA SS before kasi nga sa totoo lng,,wala akong makitang job for me sa seek, meron man iisang butil minsan. eh eto namang husband ko puede sana sa 189 pero paiyakan naman kami sa ielts, daming kesyo, ako gustong gusto kong lumayas ng pinas, so ako ang gumawa ng paraan.

sabi naman ng tita ko sa sydney, wag ko n daw intidihin yan mga nababasang kong ganyan, ang importante eh makarating kami dyan ng legal. so gow gow ako sa SA SS, luckily granted naman.

tumitingin ako centrelink website ng SA, meron akong nakitang mga jobs dun kahit seksitary ok na,,meron pa nga sa qantas, ground crew,,ok n ko dun if ever wala talagang makuhang work sa linya ko,importante, matapos ung 2yrs moral obligation para walang problema pag nag-apply ng citizenship,,hehe

About the increase in unemployment rate, yes this is true. Our company also made some recent changes in the organization. One of our manufacturing site was almost shut-down because of Asian imports. They say importing from China is way cheaper than building the item in Australia.

Regarding the employment, seek.com.au will answer that question. I just browsed seek.com.au and found a lot of IT jobs. It is just a matter of qualifications, approach, luck and attitude.

This was my job hunting history:

March 7 - Signed contract at Royal Adelaide Hospital. Start date is March 13 because 12 is public holiday.

March 9 - Counter offer at Glenunga International High School. I asked them to move the contract signing from March 13 to March 14. I then emailed Orana Inc. (another company) that I have a contract signing at March 14 by 1:00PM

I also emailed Royal Adelaide that I will withdraw my employment.

March 14 - Received a call at 9:00am from Orana Inc. and later on emailed Glenunga that I will withdraw the contract signing.

March 15 - Manager from Glenunga was calling me on my mobile phone but I didn't answer the phone. Things are getting too complicated.

March 19 - first day at Orana

I am very lucky to have this kind of job hunting experience I experienced this counter offer thing in the Philippines but I never thought it will happen in Au.
