@LokiJr - I assume you will come from Manila right? No direct flight from Clarke to Australia - lipad ka muna from Clarke to Kuala Lumpur and from there you will switch to a bigger plane. This will take you direct na to Australia... :)

For me, the trip going there was okey... As mentioned nga, this was an evening flight so natulog nalang ako after taking off... :) Pero it is not so comfortable I tell you... :)

Sir, I believe the air tickets being sold by IOM are those of legacy carriers (i.e. PAL, Qantas, Cathay Pacific, Malaysian Airlines, etc) whereas ang Air Asia naman ay isang budget airline... :)

    Hope this helps!

@KTP yup pwedeng balikbayan boxes. ganun din ang gagamitin namin kasi mahal nga naman pag bibili ka pa ng sangkatutak na maleta kahit pa na sale mo sya nabili mabigat pa din sa bulsa. just make sure to use a good duct tape (which is really expensive mga P600 per roll) to secure the sides and the bottom oof course.

@pjecuacion definitely yes but i don't think you can avail of the 40kg baggage alowance. maybe yes but they will charge you extra for that. kung ma-charge kayo baka nga pumareho lang un sa rate ng IOM. again, this is hypothetical. i maybe wrong though. :)

I would suggest taking your first flight to Australia through IOM.

Ahahha, I feel you there!! :)

It just dawned to me right; try to purchase nalang talaga a good seat in a legacy airline. I mean, come on, only once lang yung initial entry mo to Australia as a PR - might as well make the experience going there great diba?

I remembered when I first entered Singapore in 2008 as an employee, pinaghandaan ko talaga ang flight ko. Kahit double than the price ng Cebu Pacific, I opted to buy Singapore Airlines para nice ang pagdating ko...

This is just me talking though... :) It is up to you guys to agree or disagree with my thinking, eehehehe! :P

I guess not all the time. Yung IOM hindi naman bumibili ng promo tickets sa Qantas so there should be times when buying from the site will be cheaper hehe

@psychoboy i don't think bibigyan ka ng ganun kalaking discount pag dumirekta ka sa Qantas. bukod pa un sa 40kg baggage allowance. kaya nga nag-IOM na lng ako eh. but you can always try to inquire at their makati booking office though. no harm in trying. :-D

Best thing about IOM, is the 40kg allowance. Max of 46kg pa yan. 23kg per luggage. Sa Qantas 20kg lang max of 23kg, 1 bag lang.

    Hi guys,

Malaking bagay iyon. At before you go to the airport, make sure na natimbang nyo maigi ang baggages nyo.

    Good luck!

@LokiJr mas mura ang additional baggage kapag kumuha ka during booking or ticketting. Pero kapag nasa airport counter ka na, alam ko it ranges from $25 to $35 per kg ang rate ng mga airlines (not sure though).
