Maternity Benefits

Magtatanong lang po ako sa mga may experience about maternity pay /benefits ganito po kasi yun.

We arrived in Australia in April 14, 2016.
Nagkawork po ako May 23, 2016
and now I am due in 2 months.
I am on a contract for 9 months.

Sabi kasi sa centerlink website 10/13 months dapat nagwowork bago makakuha ng maternity benefits.

I resigned from work Feb. 29, 2016 from Philippines, kasama po kaya to sa calculation ng "work" kahit I was outside Oz?

I will be jobless when I give birth, and wala pa ring work si hubby :(
Maghahanap naman sya ng work as soon as he can once makapanganak ako kasi wala magbabantay saken at sa 5yrs old ko. Gusto ko lang malaman if we can get support from the govt.

We are currently receiving FTA/B benefits, not much tho kasi I am still working.
Also we are PR status.

Hope may makasagot po. Salamat ng marami.

Nagmamhal,

Raiden :)

    Hi Raiden,

Any experience outside OZ is not counted sorry to say. Para maging eligible ka (based on Centerlink):

To meet the work test for Parental Leave Pay you must have worked for at least:

10 of the 13 months before the birth or adoption of your child, AND
330 hours in that 10 month period, which is just over 1 day a week, with no more than an 8 week gap between 2 consecutive working days

if your employer have maternity paid parental package you might need to check.

All the best in your pregnancy

    thanks po sa insight @pinoykiwi_inOZ
medyo naconfuse lang ako sa work test nila kasi ito rin nakalagay.

You don’t need to be working full time to be eligible for Parental Leave Pay. You may meet the work test if you:
•are a part time, casual, or a seasonal worker
•are a contractor or self employed
    •work in a family business
    •have multiple employers
    •have recently changed jobs
    •are no longer employed, or
    •have worked overseas

sa last bullet po, may nakalagay na have worked overseas. sabi rin ng friend ko na medyo matagal na dito sa OZ, try ko pa din daw mag file.
