Hi, just wanna ask some help about Nursing students applying for 189. My wife is about to finish her studies, 1 year Bachelor in Nursing, this December and she'll be graduating this February.
We heard that we can start preparing requirements by December, but I'm not familiar with any of the requirements for Nursing's Skills Assessment.

Can I ask any tips or idea where we could start gathering requirements?
Also, what's the difference between ANMAC and AHPRA?

    Thanks!

@anoja hubby ko din main applicant. Nurse ako dito sa pinas. Visa 189 sya. So kunin sana namin additional 5 points for spouse. Need ko magpa assess sa anmac and mag ielts. Question ko is, qualified ba ko magpa assess? Kahit wala bridging?

@momsienikki You will be able to pass ANMAC assessment. But you wont have any option to work here since you dont have a AusRN license. No one will hire you anyway until you have your AusRN license..So the correct way to do is get Aphra RN license either through BSN/BRIDGING COURSE/ CONVERSION COURSE. Get Sponsorship, apply modified anmac assessment then apply PR.
No shortcut to it. otherwise there would have been more nurses here.

@momsienikki To claim 5points for spouse.
Both you and your husband should have a your respective license to work meaning my APHRA registration k n rin and both you and your husband have your skills assessment each from your respective assessing authority.

So if wala k p aphra registration kahit pasado k anmac assessment di nyo ma claim ang additional 5points. Kasi iba ang jurisdiction nang aphra at anmac.
anmac is like ched they regulate schools that deliver nursing course. and aphra is like prc they are the once that gives license and regulates health professionals. so you need approval from both.

@tooties thank you so much!

Thanks to con and michelle from nurse2nz.forumotion.com for this guide :

Please use this as your guide..
***AHPRA is the Regulating Board of Health Care Professionals here in Australia (Australian counterpart of PRC in Philippines)

    1. Fill up the FORM (download then print)

    http://www.nursingmidwiferyboard.gov.au/Forms.aspx

    2. Procure all the necessary documents and have it certified in notary public or to a lawyer.
***use the checklist at the back of the form as your guide on the documents you need..

Basically you need certified copies of the following:
    1. Passport
    2. PRC License
    3. Transcript and diploma
    4. Board certificate

    6. Evidence of your secondary education to the requisite level, taught and assessed in english or ielts result (request original to be sent to ahpra)
    7. Certificates of employment
    8. Cv (original)

***Details of the documents required are clearly defined in each part of the form, so read carefully.. and use the links referred to if you need more information..

    3. Send the application form along with the attachments and the fees to AHPRA address.. Register at the Victoria office, kasi andito ko para magkakasama tayo.. but if you want a cheaper institution, send your application to Perth, WA.

    http://www.nursingmidwiferyboard.gov.au/Nurse-Fees.aspx

*** AS OF January 26, 2011, EXCHAGE RATE FOR PHP TO AUS IS $43.93 TO $1.00
Pay through bank order addressed to Australian Health Practitioner
Regulation Agency and attach check along with the application form and your certified documents..

***AHPRA will notify you receipt of your documents thru your email.. If they require more documents they will let you know.. so check regularly your emails..

    3. If your application has been approved, AHPRA will send you a letter of Eligibility to do the Bridging Program. You will use this letter to enroll in a School offering Bridging Courses.

@cheng1003 As what i've heard from friends who are in OZ, matagal daw ang approval ng PR for nurses pag hindi ka nag aral muna. may iba daw nag apply ng PR la pa din result so nag bridging course nlng daw. mas mabilis pag nag bridging course ka muna.

    Good luck!

@cheng1003 ..much better mag- bridging program ka muna then once RN ka na. apply ka sa mga hospitals/aged care facility na pwedeng mag-sponsor ng working visa 457. or kung walang mahanap na sponsor. then, apply for permanent residency.
    Good luck!
