Edit: kung ganun naman pala ginagawa ng HR. hanap ka na lang sa google ng hiring ng software engineer, yun palagay mo. hahahaha

would just like to ask if I can also appeal the work experience deducted or is it already definite that if your degree is assessed as AQF diploma, 4-5 years will be deducted regardless if your experience is related to your anzcode... also lets say you were granted a PR, do employers look at your ACS assessment? so if 5 years were deducted from your 6 years work exp, employers would only recognize 1 year work exp?

@chmscrbbrfck nope, i dont think it does work that way. Deduction is for acs compliant only. Employers will still look to your whole qualification.

You can always re-appeal, but make sure you have solid evidences to back your appeal statement else you're going to waste A$395.

Review your TOR and compare it with the list of core subjects in the ACS guidelines before deciding whether to appeal the decision or not.

Hi all! Merry Christmas & Happy New Year, Hi @rich88 , ask ko lang medyo nagugulahan pa ako bakit may deduction kapag mag papa assess ka sa ACS? hindi ba dapat iassess lang ang docs mo based on your chosen work? Kapag may deduction does this mean na na- downgrade ka sa chosen work mo?.

Newbie here still gathering my doc.

The deduction is because dun lang nila iniisip na you have already gained sufficient experience/knowledge for your chosen field to be considered as "skilled". The deducted years are yung iniisip nilang learning years mo until you got proficient in your job at papasa sa standards nila.

@rich88 , @studio719 thanks for the info. nabasa ko na yung guidelines and criteria pero medyo naguluhan lang ako kasi nga sa deduction so eto ang nakalagay sa guidelines....

"Only employment completed after the date you have met the ACS suitability criteria will be counted as Skilled Employment and eligible for migration points.

Work experience used to meet the suitability criteria is NOT counted as Skilled Employment and NOT eligible for migration points."

Duon ka palang magkakaroon ng point AFTER you met the ACS suitability criteria HINDI yung buong experience mo. at yung "deduction" was if you met the ACS suitability criteria yun ang ibabawas sayo at yung matitirang experience mo is for migration points. tama ba?

@bluerocky Yes. For example, pag sinabi ng ACS "the following experiences after December 2016 are assessed as suitable blahblahblah," ibig sabihin January 2016 ang start na pwede ka mag claim ng work exp.

Com eng ako at yung school ko nasa section 3 so ibig sabihin nun AQF advance diploma ako kahit ba na 5 years ako? baka 4 years din ang mabawas sa akin.

Software engineer yung nominated occupation ko kaya 4 years binawas sa akin. Kulang programming subjects ko kaya ganun yung assessment kahit section 1 ang school ko.

Depende talaga yan sa nominated occupation. Kung computer network and system engineering yung occupation ko baka 2 years lang mabawas.

Hi Everyone,

Ask ko lang po sa mga kapwa ECE na npadpad sa ICT Industry. Same kami ni husband na ECE. Pero on his first job, he has telecom experience more like sa fiber, phone and internet for home or small enterprise subscribers (5 years). Pero since nagshift na sya sa IT Career specifically in Cisco on a BPO Company sa Pinas (1 yr). Then nagapply dto sa Singapore sa IT career pa din (1 yr). Total of 7 years na. So torn kami between expressing yun careers nya kung anong skill ang apply nmen. Kung sa Telecom ba or sa IT career side nya. Kasi magkaiba yun magaassess, EA for his telecom career and ACS for the IT Career. Sya kasi ang balak namin na main applicant. Otherwise, mas mabute ba kung ako ang main applicant? 2.5 years sa project management associate sa Telco Company, tapos 4 years sa IT Career sa BPO Company.

@Jaqui_su Here are my thoughts.

1. If hubby mo is main applicant. mas mabuti sa EA sya, kase mas madami syang exp dun. pag sa ACS sya nag pa-assess. baka di nya ma meet yung suitability criteria. Nag ddeduct si ACS ng exp to meet the criteria, minimum of 2years, if assessed as bachelors degree. so halos wala syang makukuhang points for his experience.

2. if ikaw main applicant, I suggest mag pa assess ka sa ACS. Make sure na match ang IT career mo sa iyong nominated occupation. in my experience, and reading through this forum, yung 263111 (computer network and system engr) lang ang almost related sa ECE. ECE din ako at yan ang nominated skill ko. Pag yan ang nominated skill mo, you can be assess as ICT major. Also check kung ano section ng school nyo kase may impact din yun sa assessment.

wala ako knowledged sa EA assessment, sorry. I suggest you read the guidelines for skill assessment ng ACS to know more.

lahat talaga problem ang COE na walang job details. Pero need mo talaga sya kunin or create an affidavit and have it signed by your colleague or supervisor pag ayaw mag bigay ng HR. you cannot be assessed without these. ano current occupation mo?

@Jaqui_su the first thing you need to specify is what is husband's your nominated occupation? Ano ang roles ng husband mo sa company noon sa telecom field at sa CISCO?

Pag sa ACS magpapa assess husband mo, mukhang d ka makakapag claim ng work experience dhil 2 years ka pa lang sa IT field (I'm assuming network engineer sya).

For you, ano ang current role mo ngayon? Masyadong broad ang "IT career" so we can't advise unless you provide more specifics.

Just to heads up, Balak ko kasing mag pa CTC sa pinas na lang pag nagbakasyon ako para mura saan banda ba yung P20/page na cityland ba yun? saan yun?. Aside sa COE, TOR, Diploma/Certificate, Passport meron pa bang ibang kailangan? baka may ma miss out lang ako. Yung sa dependent naman passport lang ba ang need for applying visa? Mahal kasi dito sa UAE Phil. Consulate para isabay ko ng lahat at makatipid na din.

Current Occupation: Senior Network Engineer (with ITIL and Cisco Certs) 4+ years Working experience in Philippines. This January will start new Job in Singapore
Previous Occupation: Project Management Associate 2.5 years

Huby - 263311 Telecom Engineer
Current Occupation: Senior Network Engineer (with Cisco Certs) 9mos+ Working Experience in Singapore and 1yr in Phils.
Previous Occupation: Field Service Engineer (with CFOT, CompTIA A+ Certs) 5 years Working Experience in Phils.

@Jaqui_su I don't think make-credit yung field engineer exp ng husband mo sa network engineer na occupation. Magkaiba ata kasi talaga yun, pero you can try naman. Baka makalusot. I suggest mag EA na sya talaga instead of ACS para at least may ma-claim sa work experience considering things goes well.

I'm not sure if EA will consider his experience in network engineering under telecom engineering occupation though. You can ask our EA folks at the other thread for advice.

In your case naman, I think your project management experience might be considered to 263111. Does your new job in Jan have the same title and roles as the current?

May PRC license ba kayo both? If yes, highly likely that you'll get assesses as AQF Bachelor.

@rich88 kahit sino nman samin pwde tama ba? Basta matimbang lang kung sino mas possible pumasa as main applicant. Tapos since dependent naman namin yun isat isa automatic nman yun db.

sa mga makakabasa gusto ko lang malaman kung may naka experience na ni review nila yung result ng acs nila na AQD diploma yung 4 years IT/CompSci nila mula sa Section 3 na school. gusto ko lang malaman kung anong mga ginawa nyo at anong mga document ang sinubmit nyo fore re-review nung acs result. maraming salamat sa sasagot!

@Jaqui_su Oo pwede kayo magpa assess both, then see who came up with a better assessment tapos sya na lang mag main. Since both kayo magpapa assess, check nyo rin baka pwede ka mag claim ng 5 points for partner's skill.

@momsienikki yes, pro rata ang software eng. lahat ng under sa 2613 na occupation code ay pro rata. Sakto ang com sci sa lahat ng occupation code under 2613.

@rich88 Thank you! Aiming for superior si hubby sa pte. Pero sa proficient lang sya pumasok. Still, thankful padin. Magpa assess na kami sa January, then depende sa points na maibigay ng ACS. Sana pala umabot ng 65.
