Try big banks. Ako bumili sa BDO.. just have to call them in advance to reserve. Catch is, kailangan meron ka account with them.

Very simple you dont need to bring cash.

    cheers.

Withdrawal fee is $3.5 per transaction.

Yup to make sure na makakapag withdraw.

    cheers

I'm not sure kung tinatangap sa loob ng airport ang US dollar to buy food.

The best is bumili ng AU dollar ng mga AU$1000 para sa food or pang transfo. At yung natitira na savings i deposit sa Credit Card like Citibank or any international debit card or yung savings account International ATM card then mag withdraw na lang sa OZ. Mas maganda kung yung bank ninyo ay puede mag online banking mas madali yun makapag bank transfer kahit nasa oz na kau. Here in Australia most client using online banking no need to go over the counter especially paying bills.

    cheers

@TotoyOZresident medyo off topic ako boss pero what about rent? Diba humihingi sila ng bond? So dapat kasama yun sa icoconvert kong pera to AUD? Or..do they accept credit card para sa rent? hehe

Follow your heart but trust your gut.

Puede din nman on line banking o tinatawag na bank transfer kukunin mo lang account nung land lord ninyo then puede mo i send ang payment to his or her account. Pag send mo ng bank transfer on the follwing day receive na nya. Masasanay nman kau pag dito na kau about electronic banking.

    Options:

I do not prefer big bank sa pinas kasi mas mababa ang palit nila at kailangan mo pa yata na may account sa kanila

    2. Open a Citibank USD account sa pinas.
    - Last time I check (few years ago hehehe0, you can withdraw money from ANY CITIBANK ATM machine around the world WITHOUT extra charges/fees, so exchnge rate lang ang (USD -> AUD ) and issipin mo on that day na mag withdraw ka.

    - tested when going to US. Withdraw the USD bank account open in pinas sa CItibank ATM sa US - no charges.

Still no extra charge for transaction fees or withdraw fees.

    3. I bring USD as pocket money (make sure hindi over 10kAUD yung total na dala mo na cash)
    - else kailangan mo declare pag over 10k AUD ang dala mo na cash.

In my experience, ginawa ko lahat.
    - nag papalit na ko sa money changer para may enough AUD ako when I landed in AUS for expected expenes in Australia.
    - As backup, nag open din ako ng CItibank USD account. Tpos I bring hte ATM card. Pra I cna withdraw from CItibank ATM machine dio sa Austrlaia if kailangan ko spare chas.
    - Nagdala din ako ng USD as pocket money in case na kailangan ko ng spare na cash at wala kao mahanap na Citibank ATM machine.

    @LokiJr

    Payment can be made:
    - pwedeng credit card payment sa account ng real estate agent
    - direct cash depsit sa account nung realestate agent if di pwede credit card payment
    - kung shared accomodation (pwedeng cash ang bayad)

Estimate mo nlang kugn gano kalaki ipapapalit mo to AUD sa pinas.

@JClem Open a citibank USD account. As far as i know wla sile transaction fee as long as withdraw ka sa citibank ATM machine in AUS. Consult Citibank if they still have this offer.

May branch sila sa sm makati and alabang town center and greenhills yata. =)

@vinpack i don't think you're gonna get fake money at Sanry's bro. they've been in the industry for so long so may reputation silang inaalagaan. if may issue na before na ganyan malamang nireklamo na sila ng clients nila at sarado na sila by now. just me thoughts. :-)
