Nagwowork siya before while studying. Kailangan lang talaga ng maraming tiyaga, :) Maswerte ka nga at nakaPR ka na which leaves you unlimited work hours. Pag maghealth assistant ka, check mo kng may work ba na available. If not why not get an aged care course para makapasok ka as PCA kung gusto mong magwork muna. Pag Cert 3 usually ielts of 5 lang ang kailangan.

Thank you for the response @Cassey . If mag enrol sa deakin.. anong score kailangan? do they accept pte scores? if sa ielts, what is the ielts score to qualify for enrollment? mas maganda ba cert III aged care kaysa cert III health assistance?

@rhycka you're welcome, IELTS lang at OET.. maybe call the school. :)

@Rhycka: Just go to TAFE website, and in Cert.III HSA course, just go online so that you could look for more info...They just ask me if i got an English Exam, I told them I Had PTE, no band score alloted...

@Cassey: yeah, need to go on w/AHPRA tlga..but I opted to have the 18th week course from HSA which is an AIN in Acute Care setting..
RPL buh ung conversion n gnamean mo? Recognize Prior Learning..ask lng if ever, the Cert. III in Aged Care, nirerecognize dn buh if ever I'll push through with my AHPRA application later on? kasi need kopa take again PTE ko to get 65 in all areas or equivalent to 7...Mind if may knowledge ka about this...

Your'e an RN too buh? Base on Statistics as of now 2017, mostly nasa 5% nlng ung mga 65y.o and above na elderly..they opt to stay at their respective homes..The dfference between AIN HSA Course in Acute setting, medyo mas advantage ang sa Cert.III HSA kasi u can either be place in a Hospital and Aged Care area, whilst the Aged Care alone is for Home care and Aged care facility only..thats what i learned from the teacher...

@lori87 Yeah its RPL. The subjects are credited thus reducing the duration of study. My husband is an RN here, and he also did an Aged Care course and worked as a PCA before he studied nursing.. Finishing Aged Care course doesn't have any weight with the AHPRA registration/application...If you have backread, I suggested Aged Care to @Rhycka (which is just a 4week course by the way), since she's asking for advice because she wants to work while studying.. :) Why would you opt for something longer if you can work right away... Well anyway, at the end of the day it's still up to her to decide. :) Even if she doesn't study, she'll definitely get a job in other fields anyway.

@Cassey: There is already a new rule now for Aged Care, hndi na 4week course lang FYI..better those who opt to might read the new guidelines..It is now called Individual Support, last year lng na change..its 14 weeks and or 18 weeks duration, full time..5yrs ago pa yang 4 weeks..may mga placement na kasi..it depends narn where u want to join in..

@lori87 What's the point of arguing with me anyway? :) It's not even your concern. Pls get your facts straight. I know someone who just did the 4weeks course last month and he's employed now. Definitely not 5yrs ago, because my husband just did it like 3yrs ago...

People here should learn how to respect other forumers. You ask and we answer your inquiries and yet you disrespect us.. FYI, We get nothing here yet we still give our time and effort . When you ask for advice, make sure to have an open mind. It's not like we're forcing you to take in our advice anyway. We answer based on our experience and our friends here at AU with the sole intention of helping and nothing else. :)

@kangarookoala hi! Just newbie here sa forum and my concern is about my friend who is also an RN here in the Phils. The only option lang ba is for her to get student visa first bago mag apply ng immigrant visa? Thank you and Godbless :)

    @Cassey

Hello po. Natanong na po siguro to from previous posts but I'm just worried na baka nagbago na po sa AHPRA.

Gusto ko lang po itanong, yung boyfriend ko po, he's working as RN sa Saudi at the moment kaso kakarenew niya pa lang po ng contract so he has until next year to get here. Mag-1 Year qualified palang po siya but by the time he plans to come over, 2 years qualified na po siya. I have heard of Bridging Program kase we were doing research din po pero it's just quite confusing kase may 3 months and may 1 year pa po. And may natanungan din po ako, sabi after the course, umuwi muna while waiting for a job. But that's not the option we're opting to go for. As much as possible we wanted for him to stay. And since manggagaling po siya abroad, I'm wondering if he still needs to do the course or pwede na diretso na siya mag-apply as RN?

@rkmg Hi, he still needs to study to become an RN here in Au. With his soon-to-be experience he can either take a bridging course which only takes for 3 mos or opt for a conversion course which may take a year or 2 depending on the uni that he's going to enrol in. With the bridging visa, I've heard that some were able to stay here by getting another visa like tourist visa but the downside is, it doesn't have work rights. Kung hindi naman issue na hindi siya makapagwork, he can stay here so that he can process all the paperworks for AHPRA, ANMAC and PR and wait for the result of his application na rin. Kung uuwi naman siya, wala namang magiging problema, kasi he can still lodge his application overseas and once he gets the PR he can go to Au straightaway. Based on our experience as long as complete ang papers mo, you'll have a chance for a direct grant and mabilis lang like shortest is 7days from lodgement of PR application, provided of course na hindi magbago yung rules ng immi. :) Godbless.

@GhaieCee Hi, Are you planning to take a bridging course? You can actually choose between the 3 and even PTE. Nirerecognize naman yan lahat. May mga agencies/education consultancies like IDP and AECC na free ang service so why not grab the chance. They can help you in processing your student visa and guide you as to what documents you need to submit for your application.

@princess_jasmin Hi, With the IRON program, i would say na may chance naman na makahanap ng work especially pag sa Regional Area ka kasi yung kakilala ni hubby inabsorb siya nung hospital kung saan siya nagplacement. Malaking factor yung may hospital experience especially kung may 3yrs or so at siyempre yung persistence mo rin at sipag sa paghahanap. I would still suggest though to have a Plan B just in case things don't go your way. :) Just a heads up, sabihan mo yung nasa referees mo sa CV na potential employers might give them a call and do a cross checking about your experience so dapat alam nila kung ano yung job roles mo, etc. because they do call. :)

Ang importante matapos mo yung course, maregister dito then everything else will follow. Ang nakikita ko lang na downside pag umuwi is siguro diyahe yung pagpapadala ng documents plus yung time to receive them but other than that wala namang problema or issue.

Yung iba na hindi nakakakuha ng work, kumukuha ng tourist visa para maasikaso lahat at makapagstay dito, yun nga lang wala siyang work rights. :)
