hi, im working in sg as finance exec for 2 yrs na. accountancy graduate in cebu. not a CPA.
failed in my IELTS recently sa british council. ano ma-advise nyo mas ok magretake sa BC or sa IDP ? will it make a difference if kumuha ng exam sa malaysia?
if makapasa na ako, saan mas ok magpa-assess? ICA, IPA or CPAA?

As per our experience, we have only done BC - may iba nagsabi na mas mataas daw mag-score ang IDP but in my opinion parehas lang ito save perhaps on the speaking and listening where you will be hearing 2 different accents for both.

Walang difference if sa Malaysia ka magtake as this is a standardize examination - you may save some as the price there is cheaper though but not worth the hassle I believe.

My wife got her assessment sa CPAA - there are comments from here and in other forum that CPAA is a bit strict especially on the Accounting Theory part but luckily wife was able to pass that. It takes around 1 month for them to complete their assessment including transit time sa mga documents and the work experience assessment.

I could not comment on IPA and ICA but some people say they are more lenient than CPAA...

for my case (this was before skillselect), we received an email from our CO asking for the PCC's and medical examination. tapos naka-attach na dun sa email na yun yung request letter (in pdf) para sa Singapore PCC. I guess alam na nila na pag kelangan mo ng PCC from Singapore, magbibigay sila ng sulat.

naka kuha ako sa IDP at BC, sa scoring parang the same lang it really depends talaga sa performance mo on that day base on my experience. Writing and Speaking meron subjectivity dyan kasi depende sa assessors diba kahit na may standards sila. pero in terms of organize yung pag ka arrange ng exams, venue,schedule sa BC mas okey. kasi sa IDP late sila lagi and medyo disorganize.... para maka pasa po practice ang kailangan kasi medyo time constraint ang exam, so first time natin medyo di natin alam ang timing....yan lang po base sa experience ko , i hope it helps....good luck!

Hi @mandand! How many docs were included in your acknowledgement email? Me and @Cleon only got 2 which were as follows: (1) IMMI Acknowledgement of Valid Visa Application Received and (2) IMMI Visa Application Summary. We did not get the health ids yet (this is needed I suppose for the medicals) and the request for Singapore PCC.

di mo ba ma-consider na magpa-remark? based sa score na ni-share mo, masyado malayo discrepancy nung writing compared sa ibang area. Ang hirap kasi sa writing (and speaking) subjective yan eh. Ang experience ko, 7.0 ako sa writing, mdyo confident ako na hindi ko deserve yung 7.0 so nagpa-remark ako, naging 8.0 score ko. Although, risk ang remarking of course, kasi pag same score lang nakuha mo hindi mo na makukuha binayad mo.

@LittleBoyBlue Thank you. Ang galing tumaas score mo, ayus! Ano ba tips mo sa writing jan? hehehe. Naisip ko nga ring mgparemark.. kaya lang ngdalawang isip ako kasi 1.5 points kailangan ko, and you are right hindi ko sure kung mababago ang score ko at 1month+ ata bago lumabas and result.

Yung essay, follow lang yung ideal format. Intro - Body - Summary. Kada paragraph binibilang ko, tapos markahan ko sa gilid ng count, para may guide ako. Burahin ko na lang later. Tapos, madalas ako gumamit ng idioms, kasi nabasa ko dun sa band level guide na 8.0 - 9.0 eh marunong gumamit ng idioms. Syempre importante spelling at grammar.

Pag nasa summary ka na, gamit ko nung mga classic techniques para malaman ng reader na patapos ka na like "In conclusion/In Summary", depende sa context of course like kung letter iba syempre.

@RobertSG , writing din pinaka mababa ko sir at first. Yung ginawa ko practice ako araw-araw, using yung format na sinabi ni LittleBoyBlue, tapos dahan2 bumibilis yung speed ko at my time na ako sa pag review ng nasulat ko. during sa exam meron akong 20 mins na extra time to review. So na correct ko lahat ng mga common errors natin, minsan kasi basta pressure tayo sa time marami tayong mga mali. I hope it will help you. From 6 ang score ko naging 7.5 writing ko...all the best!!

isang maaraw at mainit na hapon po sa inyong lahat.

katanungan lang po sa mga nakapag-pasa na ng documents for skills assessment and EOI.

kaka-CTC lang po ng mga colored documents ko sa HOH Corp. (yung main office nila sa Eu Tong Sen St, malapit lapit sa Clark Quay MRT) 18 pages for 69 sgd.

kasi parang naalala ko na dapat may contact number yung nagcertify. yung pina-CTC ko kasi sa pinas na documents eh ganun. ok lang po ba na pirma at chopped lang yung nakalagay? at walang contact infos?

maraming salamat po sa sasagot. magandang hapon po.

a person or agency recognised by the law of the person’s home country. In Australia, this means a copy
which is authorised as a true copy by a person before whom a Statutory Declaration may be made. Such
authorised persons include the following: magistrate, Justice of the Peace, Commissioner for
Declarations, Commissioner for Affidavits, solicitor, registered medical practitioner, bank manager, postal
manager, an Australian Public Service Officer with 5 years or more service.
The department also accepts documents certified by a registered migration agent.

@engr_boy : parang napaisip ako. yung pina-CTC ko rin ata dati sa peninsula plaza wala din contact number. basta stamp ng CTC, notary public (with registration number ata yun) at signature nung abugado. yan yung naaalala ko.
