Originally, ang plan namin ni misis Sydney.. kasi may relatives naman duon.. kaso nga sa market now, ang sabi ng relatives ko eh kung makakapag settle kame sa Melby, much better daw duon kasi mas affordable.. lalo kung bibili na ng bahay.. ang mahal daw po kasi sa Sydney.. sa ngayon hindi pa sure kung saan.. nakakaba din kasi wala pa namang work.. connections.. connections.. connections.. yan ang need natin.. build our network.. para makahelp sa pag job hunt..

IED.. hmmm.. most probably June of this year.. given may murang ticket.. and plan to enter Melby instead of Sydney, kasi last year navisit na namin Sydney.. so para maiba naman at makita what Melby has to offer..

Anyway, goodluck po sating lahat at God bless.. pa-connect naman ako sa mga IT na working na currently sa Melby/Sydney.. thank you!

Hello @ecabacis @jillpot and to the rest of Octoberians. Its nice to hear na marami pala tayong mga Melby bound, I hope magka meet-up din in the future. As for our initial plans, I got a very cheap ticket sa CebuPac, 26K+ with 20K check in baggage, meals, for each, all-in. 4 members kami magtravel. Baka magkasabay pa tayo @ ecbasics June din kasi and flight namin. Nakakaba lang talaga kasi wla pang work and kasama pa namin mga kids. Pero atleast may kamaganak kami na titirhan temporarily.

Hello sa inyo! @liam halos pareho kami ni @Anino78 ng timeline. Share ko lang yun plan namin for the BM.

Andito ako ngayon sa SG pero flight ko na sa April 1 pabalik ng Pinas. Nasa Pinas sila wife and daughter(2yrs old). Si wife nakabili ng ticket sa Pinas going to Oz para samin tatlo with Qantas sa May 1, MNL-SYD-MEL, 8+hrs Mnl-Syd tapos 3hrs transit sa Syd tapos 1hr30mins to Melbourne. Medyo napamahal kami kase umabot ng PHP66k, MNL-SYD-MEL, compared sa nakita ko na na-share ng ilan dito saten sa forum.

Naisip ko na lang na palubag loob e all-in na at sila na bahala sa check-in baggage namin na may tig 40kg kaming tatlo kase may free upgrade para sa 1st time immigrant flyer ang Qantas, so sa Melbourne na kami magkikita ng bagahe namin.

Although syempre may panghihinayang din talaga sa nagastos, may mga considerations din kaming ginawa na gusto ko lang i-share din baka sakaling makatulong when choosing your flight to Melbourne:
-Most of the flights na galing Pinas e going to SYD lang (***hindi ito fact at based lang dun sa airlines na sinearch namin ng flights ni wife). Pag-magkaiba yun airlines, you still need to get your baggages and check them in again, plus yun cost din ng domestic flight with your baggages. (Note: May nakita kaming direct flight MNL-MEL sa PAL pero Php80k na off our budget.)
- Malaki akong tao (height and width, hehehe) at medyo malikot din si toddler so kelangan namin ng malaking space na meron daw ang Qantas. Hirap talaga ako magkasya sa CebuPac. So thinking na 8hrs ang byahe MNL-SYD e parusa na para saken.
- Convenience ng one shot booking and payment.
- Check-in Baggage allowance (as I have mentioned earlier free upgrade to 40kg ang Qantas)

share ko lang baka makatulong...aside sa maximum baggage allowance sa cebupac...may option pa sya up to 30kg na aditional sport equipment, lagi ko kasi daladala bike ko sa mga trips kaya alam kong may ganitong option, pwede nyo idelacre yung ibang baggage nyo as sports equipment, pag-isipan nyo na lang kung anong klaseng sport equipment kapag tinanong heheheh...

hi all, basa basa na uli ako, long time no read/post! mag Big Move na kami early March, so next on my list is closing shop sa pinas and thinking of ways to ship.

ang ma-contribute ko lang now is our Qantas rates. 49K samin ng wife ko and an infant. pricey sya actually, especially if i remember us seeing 5k per person sa cebupac. we're still dumbfounded why we didn't book cebupac haha, siguro dahil we're trying to be sure especially with a baby. well, in any case, that's the rate if you opt Qantas. you have to call them so they'll add and make your baggage allowance to 40kg as first time immigrant.

thinking din pala of CBD renting after our 1month AirBnB, which is CBD pa din naman pero may commute. AirBnB at 75-ish aud per day. rent onwards looking at 450-550 pw.

looks like i'll be able to secure work as i applied to our Sydney office (working at an aussie bank here in pinas). sana oks na talaga!

@jakeonline good luck sa BM! I think okay na rin mag-Qantas kayo since meron kayong infant. Swertihan din kasi yung promo rates ng Cebpac. baka ganyan din abutin if ever you will upgrade to 40kg baggage.
