    @marimari, private ako tpos ung babayaran ko lang s hospital is ung excess ko which is $500, ung s Obstetrician wala ata sya GaP kaya wala din ako babayaran s actual birth, now ang mahal is ung consultation ko obestetrician $135 per visit of which $65 nakukuha koa s BUPA, ung ultrasound 3d/4d $250 tpos $120 nakukuha ko s BUPA, ung pinakamalaking cost pg ngprivate ka is ung management fee which i paid $2,250 tpos $400+ lang nakuha ko s BUPA. so bale ung out of pocket ko is ung check ups s OB tska ung mga major ultrasound. Every visit my ultrasound din ako s OB pero kasama n ung s bayad s kaniya.

    Newborn Upfront Payment

    Newborn Upfront Payment is a lump sum of $540. It is not taxable and is paid for each child that comes into your care.

    Newborn Supplement

    The payment rate of Newborn Supplement depends on your family's income and how many children you have. Newborn Supplement is not taxable.

    You may be paid for up to 13 weeks starting from the first day of eligibility. However, you will not be paid for those days you do not meet all the eligibility requirements.

    If you are eligible for the whole 13 weeks, you may receive a maximum of $1,618.89 for your first child or a maximum of $540.54 for other children.

    If you are eligible for at least the base rate of Family Tax Benefit (FTB) Part A, you will receive the maximum rate of Newborn Supplement. You can use Payment and Service Finder to estimate the rate of FTB Part A you may be eligible to receive.

    If you are eligible for less than the base rate of FTB Part A, you will receive a reduced rate of Newborn Supplement.

    Hi guys, question lang from a dad-to-be. 189 ang visa namin pero sa Sept pa lang kami mag-settle dyan sa AU. My wife is currently pregnant and sa Sept pa lang kami makenroll sa Medicare. Macocover na ba sya agad and si baby? Required pa ba kumuha ng private insurance kasi parang may mga waiting period sila so parang di rin macocover? Please enlighten me po. Salamat ng madami!

    @dark_knight

    i think medicare cover starts the day of registration, bibigyan k ng temporary card, i believe pwede mo n agad gmitin for check up ni wife at ni baby..

    hndi agad magagamit ang private insurance for pregnancy, may 12 month waiting period.
    hndi sya required, pero if afford mo nmn its ideal to have private insurance.

    also, get ambulance cover asap, since not covered ng medicare, in case your wife needs it,it will save you thousands of AU dollars..

    congrats
