Converted my NonPro PH licence to AU license (SOUTH AUSTRALIA),

1. Took theory test paid $34 or $38. Passed. And was permitted to drive within 3mos, pero dapat within those 3mos mapaconvert na to full.

2. Book driving lessons for 6 hrs. $50/hr

3. Inassess ako ng instructor kung kaya ko na ba mag VORT. 2nd session sabi ng instructor ok na. Pero hindi ako nagpakaconfident. Nag 4 hrs pako ulit para sure na sure.

4. Binook na ako ng instructor ko for VORT. Paid $230. Sunday un 10am.

Isang exam lang PASSED sa awa ng diyos.

5. Book ng hazard test $29. Passed. Ngapply na for licence ($100 plus something) . After 1 week nakuha ko na sa mailbox ang pinaghirapang kong lisensya. Salamat sa Diyos.

3 weeks bago mgexpire yung temporary license ko nakapagconvert nko ng full dito sa Adelaide. Salamat ulit sa Diyos.

TIP: kahit ilan taon kapa ngddrive sa Pinas o sa kht anong part ng mundo, hindi pa rin yan mgging kapareho ng australian rules. Mainam pa dn mginstructor kht 3-4 hours. Wag masyado confident na porket ngddrive na dto sa australia e kaya na lahat pati practical driving. Kase ako driver nako sa pinas for almost 14yrs. Ngdrive dn ako sa amerika. Pero nginstructor pa dn ako pagdating dito sa Australia. Isa pang tip, always listen sa instructor. Wag na wag ipilit ang alam versus sa instructor. Saka samahan ng npakaraming dasal.

@Nat separate ang payment fee ng learner permit license (after you pass the sit in test which is may feed din around 18 AUD, buti sa 'kin isang take lang) then nasa 79 AUD naman ang practical driving test booking. Medyo magastos din kaya yung iba nag eenroll sa driving lessons muna before booking the practical driving test.

@admt2016 (To hubby of admt) bro, iba rin pala rules dyan sa SA. Kasi dito sa Perth, once you got the Learner's Permit and passed the practical driving test, full license na. Wala na HPT test or eye test at hindi na dadaan pa sa "P" license. All the best. Buti may pambayad ka sa mga lessons sa driving instructor, hirap lang kasi kami. Ingat sa road. God bless

@Cassey classic talaga 'to batch mates. Yun wife ko way back sa pinas when I teach her on her first wheel hands-on drive, ayaw nya nung mga tips ko on cornering and the funny thing sya daw natuto on his own, di daw ako ang nagturo and gets all the credits to herself. Poor husband

Dito sa Australia when she had her first right-hand drive experience, good thing mabilis naka adapt. Dinala ko lang sa open parking space near my daughter's school campus and nakuha agad. Kinuha ko pa lang sya ng DOT photo card. Pa-take pa lang sya ng theory test dito kaya aral aral muna sa DOT lessons. Pero, sya na naghahatid-sundo sa mga kids namin sa school as valid pa rin naman LTO nya. They're 3 barely 3 months here on their first arrival.

@Megger based on my experience, I opened ANZ bank account application pinas pa lang ako. When I first came here, ready na ATM ko when I claimed it. You can only bring not more than 10,000 AUD on the plane, ako I just brought 3,000 AUD cash from pinas.

The only remittance center I knew where you can conveniently send or receive money (vice-versa) is thru i-Remit. Their main branch sa pinas is located at Ortigas, go check that out.

@Megger usually isang account lang yan all in. I'll share to you a tip. Ginagamit ang savings to ensure that you set aside your money say in your left pocket. While on your right pocket that is your cash on hand. Same principle applies on the bank account you'll open. The savings account goes hand on hand everyday account. Ask your bank how to use that with your mobile app. All transactions here were into bank cards and mostly cashless. Nakaka-transfer ako ng pera using my mobile phone smoothly. Even grocery stores like coles and woolworths, I just scan using my mobile bar code for rewards/discount.

Guys, got hired finally! After more than 4 months of job hunt...GOD is so merciful!

I got interviewed yesterday afternoon after receiving a call from the manager last Tuesday.

I am now their Field Service Engineer in the compressed air industry related to my profession. Primary scope of my job is into pressure vessel inspection regionally and do office reports. I will also be required to drive from one client to another.

My job is just 20 minutes away from our home and is inside an industrial state technohub here in Perth. My employment was a family owned business and hired me as a casual status initially for 3 months then into probation after 6 months. The hourly rate given was good and complete with standard super annuation package.

So as an advise to those who shall soon migrate, bring lots of faith. I almost gave up and mind set to transfer my family to another state. But GOD is quick to answer back. Prayers can move mountain indeed. ~O) @Cassey @admt2016 @Abby_ @Nat @iam_juju

@don_andres I was suggested by my recruiter to search potential jobs related to my field at Victoria or NSW. Fortunately, me and my family got to retain our residency here in Perth WA as I was now offered one good engineering job here proximate to our home.
