Hello sa mga brother/sister from another batch... hahaha sorry wala kasi active sa Nov 2016 batch kaya makikitanong ako ditto. nag initial entry kami nitong june lang tapos 5 days. paano po malalaman na ok na status ng visa namin? I mean may changes ba once naka entry na? may stamp din ba ang passport nyo from AU immigration nung nakapasok kayo?

@mgfg ano po pala ung sa rent assistance? sino eligible po dyan? pwede po ung mga bagong move tapos mga ilang weeks na wala pa mahanap na work? or umabot na sa 1 - 2months?

@jedh_g ano ano po yung pwede na naming maprocess while nasa pinas. meron na po ko NAB account though online access palang. ung card pag dating na lang daw kasi di pa naming pala makukuha nung nag entry kami... meron pa ba pwede kami magawa while waiting sa big move? nag iipon pa kasi kami ng budget. saka mga anong estimate ung need dalhin per person para makasurvive ng mga 1-2 months if wala pa work? thanks po... :-)

Hello! Makikitanong lang din po dito, we're about to file a claim para sa family tax benefit, and meron dun part about foreign taxable income for fiscal year 2016-2017. Does that mean na kelangan namin ideclare yung nasa ITR namin from pinas during this period? How about dun sa fiscal year 2017-2018, okay lang ba na 0 aud ang ilagay dun since we don't have jobs yet?

How much yung threshold po for taxable income to get the maximum amount for FTB A and B? Thank you so much!

Hi everyone! just registered on this site though I am reading this thread from time to time as I used to be in May 2016 batch too and was provided with a visa on July 2016. We are planning to move to Sydney on Jan 2018. To those who have any idea, just want to ask kung ano ang mga dapat I-prepare or dalhin from Pinas in preparation for state school in AUS (e.g documents) for Grade 2 and Grade 5 students? Madami po ba sila books dala everyday? Mahal po ba ang mga school supplies or better na magdala kmi from Pinas? Madali lang po ba mag-enroll? Gaano kahabang panahon ang dapat ilaan sa paghanap ng state school? Thanks! So far, eto nga lng din ung thread na active na nakikita ko. I tried asking on the different forum, wala nmn sumagot..hehe. In case any of you have an idea, please let me know po. Thanks a lot!

@rrjg, all you have to bring is ung report card nila from school dito sa philippines, birth certificate and vaccine record. Based on our experience, wala silang uwing books from school aside from their "readers" (simple books that they take home to read). Provided ng school lahat ng gamit basta state school and elementary. You don't have to buy anything aside sa bag and school uniform. Mabilis lang mag enroll, usually it only cost 100aud per student for the whole year na un. Madali lang ding makahanap ng school.

@rrjg Hi, dito sa Au meron silang tinatawag na school zoning. Check mo kung ano yung school na sakop yung place na titirhan niyo tapos dun mo siya ienrol. Kung gusto mo naman ng ibang school na hindi sakop yung area niyo, kailangan mong makipagcoordinate sa principal tapos kung may slot iaaccept nila yung bata. Madali lang magenrol, kung alanganing start like Term 3 or 4 kailangan mong tumawag sa school to ask kung pwede pa bang maglate enrolment. May parent interview with the principal. Kung tama pagkaalala ko, dinala namin yung Visa copy, birth cert ... At the start of school, we paid $200 and they gave us school supplies and headphone so there's no need to buy. We bought uniform which is a bit pricy considering na Tshirt and skort lang hehehe

Question po sa mga nag big move, may mga nag initial entry po ba dito na diretso na ng move? Meaning one way ticket lang ang binili? Wala po bang naging prob sa immigration? Pashare naman po ng experience

@admt2016 noong nag bigmove kau may kakilala kau doon sa pupuntahan nyo, dami cguro nyo na impok at naka bigmove agad few days after the grant. family kau or single nun nag big move. mostly kasi nababasa ko nag sasave muna bago bigmove.

family of 3 kami. bago kami nagapply visa medyo nakapagipunan na namin mula visa processing gang big move. yes buong family ng husband ko nandto na australia, pero 4 days lng kmi nakistay sa bahay ng hipag ko kase naapprove kmi agad sa apartment, saka kanya kanya dn kse ng bahay mga inlaws ko dito kaya d na kmi tumagal makitira kahiya din kse may sari-sarili na pamilya kaya pgdating namin nagapply kami agad ng apartment namin sarili.. @batman

@PMPdreamer Hi, yung sa akin dati inupdate ko siya sa immi account pero after na ng flight ko (which should have been done prior to the flight). Student visa yung hawak ko noon. Umuwi ako ng Pinas to renew then nung pabalik na sa Au iba na yung hawak kong passport. On the day of my flight sa check in counter, nagverify yung airlines with immigration. I had my old passport rin, dko maalala kung kinailangan ko ba siyang ipakita.

Hello, question po ulit. Mag claim po ako ng 3 years experience Which inacknowledge naman ni ACS, kaya lang hati yung duration. Bale 2 years nasa ibang bansa ako then connected sa current role ko ngayon dito sa pinas kaya nabuo ko yung 3 year requirement. Same company lang naman, bale deployment lang yung sa ibang bansa. Sa declaration po ng work experience, ilalagay ko pa ba pareho? Parang yung current ko lang kasi narecognize nila.

FY 2016-2017 just ended and I have a question regarding individual tax

Nabasa ko kasi na as australian residents, we are taxed on worldwide income, which means our income overseas (including employment) should also be declared. Would you guys know if this is the case? TIA sa sasagot, especially sa mga galing ng UAE. I understand may mga tax treaty ang australia with different countries to avoid double taxation, pero sa UAE kasi walang tax, kaya it had me thinking.

@mgfg I'll just answer AFAIK lang while I'm here mate. If first time tax return applicant, recommended to have it filed thru an accountant para no hassle. We availed a CPA to do it for us. We are just required to submit our PAYG (summary of all tax withheld from current employer from the start of your employment up to end of fiscal year) plus other work related expenses incurred such as work wears, uniforms, seminars/trainings including work tools. You will find there is ATO website where you could find a do it yourself lodging but I would say, there's a possibility of not optimizing what tax amount money would you be getting as you might miss some items on the list so I would say having an accountant do it for you. I just paid 130 AUD to the CPA. Comes handy in a big envelope where I had my payslip copies, PAYG form etc. Good to think considering next financial year, all your documents are in place. I was advised that it will take 6-7 days to process straight to your dedicated bank of declaration as to where the money shall be getting in.

Finally, to answer your query, we did not declare overseas employment income as it is not relevant. Sana you could optimize your gain in your tax return filing season.

According to my sister-in-law na licensed public accountant here in Adelaide, you have to declare yung overseas employment, if only nagwowork kapa sa ibang bansa pero resident kna ng australia.

eg: Visa grant is January 1 2016, ngbig move ka ng June 1 2016, ngwork kapa sa dubai for January 1 to May 31 (bago ka magbig move), Kelangan mo pa din ideclare yung income mo from overseas job mo within January 1 2016 to May 31.

Sa case namin wala kami dineclare na overseas employment kase resigned na husband ko a day before lumabas ang visa namin and 11 days after lumabas ng visa ngbig move kami agad, kaya wala
kami nadeclare na overseas income.

Sister in law ko din ngfile ng tax namin. in 3 days we received the refund na. Mabilis naman ang process. We lodged our tax refund ng Saturday night, Thursday Morning nasa account na ng husband ko yung refund. basta declare lang everything with all honesty, para wala maging problem in the future. Even ako as housewife with zero income i filed NIL refund too, as per advised ng sister in law ko, for future references lang and para magtally yung declaration ng husband ko sa declaration ko.

For those receiving benefits from centrelink, kelangan din ifile yun kahit non taxable pa. Kelangan lahat nakafile. Sabay sa lodgement ng income earner. pra magtally at wala maging problema.

@Megger Bank statements and visa copies lang ang ipinasa namin sa real estate agent to secure the unit we are renting. I'm not sure kung papayag yung agents kung friend nyo ang mag-aayos. Not sure sa ganung arrangements kung pwede..

buti po active pa ito..at least nakakakuha kami bago info..lalo na pabigmove palang kami sa sydney hopefully nov. nagiipon pa pero naka initial visit na nitong june. ang end ng initial entry namin ay aug. so ok na po un no for now? na nakavisit kami ng 5 days.. active na visa?.... tapos pala advisable po ba na mga dec. kami dumating dyan? para maghanap ng work or hindi kasi end na ng year? or iba ung calenday year nila pag dating sa mga hiring etc..
