guys may alam ba kayong nagbebenta ng PTE Practice Gold Kit na mura lang? Nag inquire ako sa AECC nagbebenta sila ng voucher for PTE Practice Gold Kit pero mas mahal 3.3k compared sa site ng PTE na 3.2k lang. Haha.

@shuroro, yup, same sets of questions, may itatry ksi akong strategy sa speaking and writing, mas mahal ksi kung sa actual PTE exam ko sya itatry and not sure kung tataas score ko o baka bumaba pa. haha, never pa ksi akong nkakuha ng 70+ sa 4 categories na LRWS. ang pinaka mataas kong nkuha 69 sa writing sa actual PTE.

@caeley, hndi po, magkaiba po ng sets yung A and B. Natapos ko na ksi yung PTE Gold Kit (sets A &

last Aug pa. Tpos plano ko bumili ng Gold Kit ulit to try different strategy so ibig sabihin noon same sets ulit yung lalabas na tanong from A & B na binile ko dati. Though yung speaking and writing lang tlga habol ko dahil mas hirap ako dun. Mas mahal ksi kung sa actual PTE ko susubukan tpos di pa sure baka bumaba pa yung grade ko. haha.

After 4th take, nakuha ko din yong 10 pts ko sa language. Salamat sa lahat lalo na kay @Heprex @lottysatty @dyanisabelle @ishtepi sa feedback at advise. 70 pts na EOI ko at antay sa ITA na sana mainvite sa Oct 18.

Guys thanks sa help! I finally got my scores. First timer here na umaasa sa superior points. Akala ko babagsak talaga ako. So contented na ako kng maka-proficient man lang ako to claim points. And lo and behold, i can now claim for 10 points! Just want to share with you what happened yesterday- take note nio na lang lalo sa mga first timers.

1. Speaking section - yes, ma-bother ka sa mga kasama mo dahil you will all be speaking at the same time. Wag ka patinag. Wag ka ma-intimidate. Push lang. Pero sa totoo lang, nadistract ako, kaya napansin ko hindi pare pareho ang set of questions. Either that or iba ang sequence. Naririnig ko kasi yung sagot ng iba sa answer short questions at hindi yun lumabas sakin. haha! Pero guys, wag nio ko gayahin - nadistract lang talaga ako sa iba. nagwander utak ko.

- may mali din ako sa read aloud - i waited for the recording to complete, dahil hindi ako sure- so in short i wasted time. And worst na-capture yung sinasabi ng ibang test takers- so advise ko, next nio na lang after nio matapos.

- sa describe image- madami din ako sablay esp sa concluding part kasi hinabol ko tapusin ang statement ko. so i think may impact un sa oral fluency ko kasi 59 lang nakuha ko. simple lang ung mga images compared sa mga sample exams na-npractice ko sa youtube. again, stick to 3 points and conclusion na agad. Maxado kasi madami ako nasabi sa sobrang simple ng image- ayun nagkulang sa conclusion... hehe.

- re-tell lecture- same with describe image. na-cut nanaman ako sa conclusion. to the point na un ibang conclusion ko sabi ko na lng - overall the lecture is interesting. haha.

-summarize spoken text - i actually wrote down 71 words. initially, dami ko pa time nun natapos ko. eh ginalingan ko pa maxado - ayun umabot ng 71 words at nagulat ako nung ilang secs na lng pala at hindi ko na madelete yung ibang phrase kasi masisira na ang grammar. so wala na ako magawa. so ayun sablay nanaman ako.

- essay - disadv and adv of tourism. sa lahat ng practice exam ko, 2 essays parati so i was expecting na 2 essays din lalabas pero isa lang pala. MEMA lang ako dito haha. followed E2language structure.

-repeat sentence - guys major concern ko to dati. nagpractice lang ako sa youtube nakatulong naman. mas mahirap yung nasa youtube! madali naman yung exam although may 4 ata na more than 8words na. may mga sablay din ako dun kasi na-replace ko pa yun ibang words pero move on ka na lng.

- reading- ang bilis ng pangyayari dito. nung nag-mock exam ako ginalingan ko naman at binilisan haha. ewan ko ba bakit dito sa actual exam ang tagal ko talaga. guys, nahirapan ako sa topics. di ko ma-comprehend haha! asa question 14 pa lang ako eh 2mins nalng time ko. i still have 3 more questions na fill in the blanks. so in short- hindi ko na nasagutan ito. nagtagal ako sa MCSA at MCMA, paulit ulit kong binasa. guys, move on na lng kayo at wag na i-risk kasi mas maraming points ang makuha mo sa fill in the blanks for example. advise ko, practice talaga kayo magbasa basa ng scientific articles para ma-improve reading comprehension nio.

- listening - favorite part ko. pero kinulangan din ako ng oras dito. every second counts talaga. kahit pagbasa mo ng instruction sa beginning ng exam kasama na yun sa oras mo. eh first timer, maxado cautious binasa ko pa talaga. yung pag-type mo, pag-recheck ng answers and yung pag-click ng next - bilisan dapat! nasa write dictation na ako, 2nd to the last yun- parang 1 min na lang. so wala ka ng control na bilisan kasi hintayin mo yung magsasalita. so yung last item, 2 words lang na-type ko kasi tapos na time ko. nagclose agad.

Bottomline, madami akong sablay - but i still got the minimum score i need. Practice ng practice lang guys. sa describe image ulit ulitin niyo yung sa youtube hangga't ma-correct nio sarili nio everytime kung pano dapat sabihin nio. Okay, so this is my way of giving back to those people who helped me thru this thread. I will share my experiences before and during the exam last Oct 12, 2pm. Please don't find this post mayabang, as that is not my intention. I hope this post will help other future PTE passers.

For the PREPARATION:
- I enrolled to a PTE review class here in Makati
- I purchased Gold Kit (btw, I kinda selling my unused 2nd mock test, so let me know if you are interested

)
- I watched YouTube videos, search for videos of Jay from E2 Language PTE Take time finishing and practicing with Jay as he really helped me with the techniques and stuffs. His methods are very helpful, like for describe image, writing essay, repeat sentence. Always have your pen and paper ready so you can write down his tips and answer his online mock tests. 40mins up to 2hours yung isang video nya, so you might need lots of caffeine for this.

Medyo OA, but it's better than me repeating the exam. Did it one time big time and I tell you, it's worth it.

The key here is really familiarizing yourself with the test proper, its sequence (kasi nga may time limit, so dapat alam mo kelan mo hahawakan yung pen and paper mo and/or kelan mo need magtype sa keyboard. You should not waste a single minute.), time limit, etc.

For the actual EXAM:
Once you're inside the testing center, no time to make last minute review. You will be asked immediately to put your things in the locker provided. No need to bring anything inside except for your passport. All accessories, including watch, earrings, necklace, etc. will be put inside the locker. All pockets will be turned and shown to the proctor. Make sure you empty your pockets- no coins, tissue, whatsoever. All phones and digital devices will be turned off, you have to show to the proctor that it is really off. Don't try to cheat, else they might charge you for misconduct and prevent you from taking future exams.

My exam was supposedly at 2pm. I arrived 12.30-ish. I lost track of time, but I finished and got my things from locker around 2.45pm. so I realized we started earlier than scheduled- yes it's possible so it's better to arrive early.

SPEAKING- All of you will be speaking at the SAME TIME. SOBRANG INGAY, parang palengke.

But try not to be intimidated by them. kasi I think ang galing nila mageenglish. sobrang slang and anlakas ng boses tlaga. Instead, calm yourself and try to focus and start speaking (for read aloud) as clearly as possible and at your own normal pace. I don't think shouting is the key here. I didn't shout. I stayed calm and relaxed. Alam ko may mali ako sa repeat sentence (and other parts of the exam) but I managed to get 90 for speaking. Yes, just speak normal and clear. If you think you made mistake somewhere in the middle, forget it and continue. marami pang way para bumawi ng scores.

WRITING- I got 3 summarize written texts and 1 essay. Essay topic for me is about the positive and negative consequences of information revolution brought by mass communication to human and the society. Key here is practice. Remember paragraph structures from E2 Language. Search something in Google like "PTE academic actual essay topics" I happened to find this blog where there is list of past actual topics with inputs on how to write them. This will somehow give you an idea on how to construct essay.

READING- I can say na mas madali ng konti yung actual exam compared sa mga mock tests from review center, gold kit and online mock test videos. Yep, Lalo na yung reorder paragraph, remember yung subject-verb-object ng e2 Language. You will need your prowess in vocabulary here

read dictionary if you need to.

10-min break is optional. I didn't take it but just took 2mins to breath and calm myself before proceeding to Listening. It will clear your mind and refresh you.

LISTENING- Fix the volume of your headset if recording is too loud, else you will not hear it clearly. For Mul choice-single and/or multiple answer, read and understand the question quickly first (same apply for reading exam din pala). So you somehow get the idea on what you need from the text or recording. Again, if you make mistake, just forget and move on. Key here is focus while listening.

And of course, pray. Pray whenever you are able. (I wore red shirt and red underwear btw. HAHAHA) Computer is not strict and will consider some of your mistakes. Also, I think I have a diff set of exam compared to my seatmates so don't get confused when you hear something that's diff from your answer.

My scores are: S-90, W-86, R-85, L-90, OBS-89. Enabling skills are all 90, except for spelling w/c is 89.

@timan_elmer thank you po. I pray that you get your needed score as well, soon. For the written text all I can say is practice sir and presence of mind. Don't get pressured when you see series of paragraphs for you to summarize. Keep your summary simple. always put period at the end of sentence with the required number of words. If you are presented with more than one topic, just choose one and focus on constructing your idea and try to give some dependent clauses as support to your main idea. Make it grammatical and observe subject-verb agreement. For practice, watch YouTube techniques and mock samples from E2 Language. gawin mo pong bestfriend si Jay ng e2. HAHA. All the best sir.
