Hello po! Ask ko lang sino po dito ang mga chefs na nakareceive ng positive skills assessment outcome? Nagemail po ang agent ko, then they congratulated me for a positive skills assessment outcome. I thought hindi ako pasado kasi may ilang questions ako sa interview na nalito ako. Does it mean na I passed the technical interview also if its a positive assessment? The letter is not with me yet, but I'm expecting it this week eemail ng agent ko. Ano na po ba next nito? They said next documentation stage na. My case:
Age : 33 (32 ngyon but December 33 na ako)
Educ : I had diploma in Culinary Arts (2 Yrs) and finished Business Administration major in Marketing
Work Exp : 3yrs and 1 month
IELTS : 0 points first attempt (kasi dko nagawang 7 lahat, I only got 6 sa essay but the rest 7.5 and 8,,, I took second ielts and still waiting for the results,, my target is 7 in all sections para additional 10 points)
So far ang points ko pa lang is 50 if Visa 190 and 489.. wala akong chance sa visa189.. ang pinaka nakikita kong option na lang na malaking chance ko is visa 489 (relative sponsorship since my 2 brothers are both PR)
Then ung education ko, diba kukunin nila ung Diploma in Culinary Arts, hndi yung Bachelors degree ko?
May expiration ba ang skills assessment outcome? Kasi hahabulin ko yung ielts score ko. Dito ako nappressure para maka minimum 60 ako kahit mag 33yrs old nako safe na ako sa 60points sana for visa 489.
I hope sana may sumagot. Best of luck sa ating lahat! Prayers, prayers, and prayers. Faith, hope and trust lang talaga.

Stage 1 is the Document Evidence Review (they check if you have more than 5 years or more years of work experience - for stage1, for stage 2 - 3 years, one year in Australia in the last 3 years)
Have you done the pathway 1 or pathway 2 (studied in Australia) for assessment?
For EOI, they will count your Culinary Arts Diploma and not your Bachelors Degree
Currently, VETASSESS assessments are valid for 3 years.
Best thing to do is redo your IELTS (or do TOEFL or PTE, whichever you're comfortable with)
Best of luck with your application!

Good day, magtatanong lang po sana..are you both graduate in Philippines..? what course exactly..? Is that culinary or chief’s ...the reason why I ask is I have a neice commerse grad and walang work na mapasukan and thinking to study again to try to migrate in australia but she can’t do nursing because she is afraid of blood and thinking studying cooking or chief since she love’s cooking how ever she have no idea if what type of course in cooking she would do that can land a job in australia by migrating..In our country we do have plenty of course related in cooking, ( i.e food technologist,HRM,hotel management, culinary arts) so we are doing a rrsearch but it seems it is not yet clear if what type of course related to cooking is applicable to migrate in australia and how many years is the experience to be able to migrate.should you have an experience overseas in cooking or chief so that you have a greater change to migrate in Australia..? Thanks u hope tou can shed light with my questions...

I am czashing... just to answer your question, I graduated with 2 courses. My first course was Business Administration in Marketing. Then I took up Diploma in Culinary Arts and Technological Management for 2 years. After my second course, that time I started to work as a cook and chef. So I had culinary working experience in the Philippines and here in UAE. Right now, I am currently working in a different department, more on admin work, not in production anymore. Since 2 courses ko, I have a choice whether to work in an office or kitchen. All up to me.
I think HRM would be fine, I also have a friend who graduated HRM and gained points for Australian visa, she also had experience working in a kitchen in the Philippines and abroad. I think what important is having the experience working in the kitchen as a cook and chef,, and your course should be related to your work as well. Goodluck!

With regards to your course questions, ask your neice if she can stand working in the kitchen for a minimum of 12 hours a day and if she can stand all the "macho-ness" in the kitchen. If yes, then take a Culinary Arts (Cookery course in AU) course. With a HRM course, she can decide opt out of the kitchen and do hotel work instead but still get cooking courses.
If you decide to enroll her in an Australian school then the course she will take won't matter. As long as she does school for more than 2 years in AU, she is eligable for a Temporary Graduate Visa to find work and eventually use that as a pathway for Permanent Residency then Citizenship.
The skilled Occupation list for AU migration is always changing and even if a chef/cook is included in the list, it will be taken away eventually like back in 2009 because of influx of migrants. For a PR application, if you don't have an AU diploma, you are required to have 5 years or more work experience in a field you will be applying for, for AU diploma holders, 2 years minimum.
Please check the EOI points calculator, 60 points is the minimum to be able to get chosen to apply for a PR visa. Also, check VETASSESS.com.au for research purposes on migration.
Regards.

Well, I've got only 3 years working as a chef, but I am eligible for visa 190 and 489. I suggest, it is much better to have more working experience, as for my case, I already grabbed the opportunity and assessment. Since I already passed my technical interview and got positive skills outcome, I decided to pursue it right away. For ielts, it is competitive to get 7 band in each section (not overall), though minimum 6 band in each section as requirement (0 point).
As my case, I still need to make my points a little higher to achieve 60. Having 7 in each section will give me 10 additional points, in which will give me a total of 60. That is what I am currently working on to proceed for EOI.
