Hi guys, I just took a mock exam today and I want to ask if the result of it can be somehow reflection of the scores that you can get on the actual exam? Also, in the essay part, ilan ang space na ginawa niyo in-between of the paragraphs?

@xter28, possible pero not that 100% accurate since may mga factors na nkaka affect sa scoring ng mock like sa speaking yung gamit mong headset and test environment nung nag test ka ska kung may problem audio jack ng laptop /pc mo na nagpoproduce ng wheezing sounds, etc. Additionally, yung reading sa actual exam parang slightly easy compared sa mock kaya may possibility na tumaas score mo sa actual. HTH!

@Diana__Jane minsan nakukuha sa practice. During actual exam mabilis lang ang transition ng time. Practice is the key. Based on my experience, the actual exam is easier than the ones seen on youtube/online

@xter28 Hello po, for essay, I used E2 language format po and applying what I learned from Ielts. Sa intro, sa 1st sentence ni restate ko lang yung question using my own words. Then sa 2nd sentence if one sided lang yung question, I give summary of the reasons ( 2 reasons only). Example, if ang essay is about importance of computers (one sided), eto 2nd sentence ko. Computers are valuable resources as they (1st reason) aid in learning and are (2nd reason) used to communicate with others. Then sa 3rd sentence sasabihin ko para pampahaba-- In this essay, I shall discuss my point if view by giving points and examples about the topic.

Then sa 2nd paragraph, elaborate ko na ang 1St reason. Mga 2 sentences na magsupport sa 1st reason. Tapos sa 3rd sentence example. Pwede ka din mag add pa ng 4th sentence parang isummarize mo lang ang 2nd paaragraph.

Sa 3rd paragraph discuss naman ang 3rd reason same sa ginawa sa 2nd par.

4Th paragraph 1st sentence conclusion, then 2nd sentence recommendation.

If 2 sided naman yung intro pwede mo gamitin yung nasa template like kina Heprex na samples. Then yung 2nd par yung kabilang side, then yubg 3rd paragraph yung other side. Tapos same last paragraph.

If medyo nahihirapan ka sa mga ideas, research ka dito sa forum ng mga recent topics. Tapos based dun sa topic reasearch ka anong pwedeng maging points and reasons para may idea ka ano ilalagay mo sa essay.

Pray lang at practice, tyaga lang puhunan. God bless you :-)

@xter28 For summarize written text strategy ko is to first get ano main topic. Then analyze what important points were given, may nangyari ba? If meron ano ang nangyari, kelan nangyari? ano at para kanino ang purpose? Usually kasi sa mga paragraphs naka detail lang pero yung point lang naman dun is parang dinedescribe lang yung main topic. If you can answer who/what, when, how and why about the topic pwede mo na pagdugtungin yung ideas mo thru connectors and form a sentence. If you will have multiple paragraphs, summarize mo muna per paragraph then summarize mo ulit lahat in one sentence.

@Diana__Jane. Tama si kayb, practice is the key. Sa una it would appear na mahirap mghabol ng oras that was also my concern before, esp that I had experiences with ielts and listening types are easier there. Sa pte kasi madami exam types that you need to familiarize. But with constant practice you will get your desired score, much better if you purchase the graded mock exams so you will have a feel of the actual exam. Hope that helps. God bless you.

@xter28, yup tama yung sinabi ni @chococrinkle additional na lang sken, kung nasagad mo na sa 90 yung Grammar, Vocab, Written Disc. ibig sabihin noon ok na Essay, SWT at SST mo, focus na lang sa other parts na nagcocontribute sa Writing score like yung Reading: Fill in the Blanks (Dropdown) at Listening: Write from dictation yun ay if you are batting for Superior Score.

@Diana__Jane, yup tama, sa 2 takes ko muntik ko nang di matapos exam sa Listening pero natapos ko lahat by GOD's grace kaya lang cramming ako at nawala na sa focus. Ang key doon dapat alam mo kung saang part ka dapat magtagal at hindi. Usually ksi mahirap maubusan ng time sa Listening part kesa Reading since wala kang control dahil sa mga voice over at need mong hintayin yung speaker matapos para makapili ka ng sagot.

sa essay po kailangan naka justify ung format nung paragraph or dapat may indent each start ng paragraph?

@lizzzie Di na po kailangan ng indent sa paragraph. Sa unang line magtype ka na po agad dun. Then after 1 paragraph magleave ka lang ng 1space pang separate mo sa 2nd paragraph. Then magsulat ka na agad sa first line po.

Hello. Gusto ko lang po mapasalamat sa nyo dahil finally, graduate nako sa pte. Yehey! Medyo long overdue na ito pero mag share lang din po ako ng general tips sa speaking dahil ayun talaga ang naging challenge ko.. Bear with me po..

1st – L90 R88 S78 W90 – napakasakit, bes!!!
2nd – L88 R77 S65 W89
3rd – L80 R79 S70 W83
4th – L82 R83 S77 W88
5th – L90 R80 S90 W86 – Praise God

1. SPEECH TO TEXT APP – sa 1st 4 takes ko, wala akong app na gamit. Nung nag schedule nako ng 5th exam, dun ko lang pinansin talaga un enabling skills ko sa speaking.. yung pronunciation ko pala lageng mababa, while yung grammar at oral fluency e ok naman. Nung nag-install nako ng app, ni check ko pa ung accuracy ng app, kumbaga e ni calibrate ko pa, tamang hinala e, hehe. So ginawa ko, nag play ako ng sample read aloud habang tinatranslate ng app. Natranslate naman mostly ni app ung sample read aloud sa youtube. Nung ako na nag read aloud, hindi nya nako maintindihan. Hahaha! Apparently, hindi madiin yung pronunciation ko ng initial/final syllables/ letters nung word kaya nagiging iba ung transalation nya.

Halimbawa ng speech to text transalation:
- grown - growth
- typical - difficult
- and - in
- towards - parts
- field - fill
- delayed - delay

2. PRACTICE – gaya po ng lageng sinasabi dito, practice lage. Yung 2nd take ko ang laki ng binaba ng scores compared sa una. Kase naging complacent ako, feeling ko nakaya ko ng una, kaya ko na din to sa next take. So hindi na ko nagpractice talaga. Maling mali. Lalong nangamote! Hehe.

3. KEYWORDS - nung exam na, pag may spare time pa sa read aloud, sinusulat ko yung keywords from the template, usually ung first few words lang. Kase may times na namemental block ako, pero pag nakita ko na ung keywords, kaya ko ng tumuloy. Nung last take ko di ko ginamit ito, pero siguro nakakadagdag din sya ng confidence, yung alam mong may back up ka kung sakaling malimutan mo.

Halimbawa ng keywords sa Re-tell lecture (salamat sa template mo @Heprex

4. VOICE QUALITY – nung 3rd take ko, normal speaking voice lang ako at hindi ko talaga nilakasan. Yung 4th naman, malakas sya pero may sipon ako so medyo ngongo, hehe. Siguro dahil nga sablay na ung pronunciation ko to begin with, tapos hndi pa malakas at maayos ung audio, kaya mababa pa din yung score. Kaya sa huling take ko i made sure na malakas ang boses ko, loud enough for the computer to understand/ translate the words accurately. During practice ko din kase, napansin ko na pag medyo malakas at madiin ang boses ko, nakukuha nung app ung sinasabi ko.

5. PRAY – hindi na kailangan elaborate, alam na this!

And i guess all of you would agree na ito ang pinakaimportante sa lahat. Sabi nga po, do your best and God will do the rest.

@ceasarkho sa introduction e yung format ni e2 language. Broad statement, rephrase question, tapos this essay will..

Ang max words ko ata sa essay ay mga 270 words lang, pero once lang yun sa limang take ko. On average e asa 220 to 230 words lang ako. Pero madaming synonyms talaga, tapos siksik din ng mga:
thus, hence, therefore, moreover, furthermore, etc.

Pag feeling ko kakapusin ako sa oras e sinusulat ko na agad yung conclusion kahit halos simula pa lang ako magsulat ng body, para buo na yung essay structure (intro, body, conclusion) at kita ko na kung ilang words pa ang hahabulin ko sa body ng essay.

@Diana__Jane yung sa multiple choice usually maikli lang un answer options.. Nagmu multi task ako, so habang may nagsasalita e binabasa ko yung answer options at mina match ko na sa answer, pero dapat po naiintindihan nyo pa din ung nagsasalita. Ganon din sa beep. Concentrate po. Understand pa din ung cnsb ng speaker para maimatch sa mga sagot. Usually sa simula ng recording e eyes closed, para mas maka concentrate ako. Pag medyo patapos na yung recording, maging attentive na at listen dun sa last sentence tlg para makuha yung tamang sagot.
Kung mahaba naman yung answer option like dun sa choose correct summary, pinakikinggan ko na lang all through out at hndi mina match habang nagsasalita. Try to ace din po yung last part ng listening panghatak ng score. Never din po pala ako nag take notes sa listening. Goodluck

@ceasarkho basta po try not to repeat the same words / use synonyms.
Hindi din enough ang knowledge ko sa climate change kaya nagbasa basa din ako sa topic na yun para kaya kong i argue sa exam. At sa exam meron nga akong 2 essay question re climate change.. nagbasa din ako konti about globalization. Never ko naman na encounter ung topic na yun sa exam pero sa mga practice materials meron din tanong tunkol dun. Goodluck

GODbless sa mga last batch ng test takers dito sa PH for the year 2017. Plano ko sana mag take before the year ends kaya lng mukang di GOD's will, nahuli ako sa pag sched. Dec. 19 na pala ang last exam for 2017 dito sa PH tpos 24 hours lang allowable time to sched the test before you sit kung plano mo mag take ng next day. Nung last check ko ksi ng 1st week ng Dec. sa PTE Scheds may schedule pa sila ng Dec. 26, 27, 28 tpos kninang plano ko na mag sched ng Dec. 26, inalis na pala nila at last day ng take ay bukas na lang Dec. 19 Haha.

hello po, just finished my PTE exam this morning and I got my results just now.

PTE Results [L - 90; R - 80; W - 88; S - 90; Overall 87]
Grammar -79
Oral Fluency - 90
Pronunciation - 90
Spelling - 87
Vocabulary - 76
Written Discourse - 60

I still don't know how I got 90 sa listening and speaking considering eto ang weak points ko. I guess the tip is to just keep going and don't hesitate when it comes to speaking.

Yung score ko sa pte for bridging program kopo kaya masayang masaya ako. di ko na po post hehehe basta sobra sobra ung saya ko..
