Clothes and shoes in AU

mhejmhej SydneyPosts: 202Member
Hi Guys! Not sure if may thread na ganito na, but I'm wondering, given our Asian and petite frame, hindi ba kayo nahihirapan bumili ng damit at sapatos sa AU?

Especially shoes for men. Hindi ba malalaki ang mga sizes nila? Or do you resort to buying sa Kids section?

Any idea where we can purchase small sizes of clothing na fashionable naman at may sense?

to be honest; it ain't too bad naman if you just buy during sale...

like for instance, yung binili ko na polo from TM Lewin, umaabot sya ng $40 lang per shirt as i got it on sale and i bought 4 pcs... quality is good!

Lmao

Lived in Australia for almost 3 years. Wala akong naging problema pagbili ng damit. Mas mura, mas quality, at mas fashionable sa Australia in my opinion. Palagi ako bumibili sa Jay jays at cotton on. Kalimitan $10 lang or less than 400 pesos. Kapag nag sale may 5 dollars pa nga.

Sa pinas it's all about the brand.

@vhoythoy I'm telling you people don't care kung anumang tatak ng damit mo sa Australia. Egalitarian society ang Australia. Hindi status symbol ang damit. I actually find it laughable that it is in the philippines.

i agree with @rein_marco and @TasBurrfoot! hehehe Tska dito sa Australia, mas natuto akong mag-save mabuti at wag bumili ng kung anu-ano.

For the ladies, ung paper scissors mura sya, stylish pa. Or baka ako lang to. hehehe ;-) lahat naman attainable dito eh, bsta may work ka ;-)

Di kasi ako brand conscious, more on price conscious (the cheaper the better, kahit second hand haha).

@mhej, Hindi mahirap humanap ng damit at sapatos for Asians. I've lived in Sydney and mas nakakahanap pa ako ng size 6 (mens) na rubbershoes in Sydney compared to Manila.

Dept stores like Big W and Kmart, halos meron asian sizes. Most clothes are from China anyway and marami ring Asians in Sydney.

Otherwise, I resort to the kids section (size 14) lol. I shop a lot though at ASOS.com

@TasBurrfoot totally agree....the irony is? I embraced simplicity since living abroad. One of the reasons why I fell in love with the life in Sydney first time I came as a student at 22 years old - I loved the freedom to be just yourself and not thinking about what other people think. No need to please anyone, just focus on living your life. Hence I don't think I can put up anymore with the social status mentality in the Philippines. I'm more grounded and practical now I must say.
