Hello everyone. Newbie question po uli. Trying to get an assessment from CPAA and im confused re sa kung dapat ko bang ilagay yung first uni ko (spent 1 yr) there, or if yung college lang kung san ako gumraduate? Baka kasi magtaka si CPAA 2 transcripts ko from 2 different schools. Alin po ba dapat ilagay? Thank you!

Hello everyone, anyone who is able to review an individual's work experience? Because apparently the agency that I contracted with is quite stupid. They are Indians (if you are familiar with WWICS).
Hi! San po pwede makita ung list of tasks for accountant general? Thanks!

@aranayad@australianwannabe I'm sorry to hear such stories. you can always terminate the contract if you're not happy and have the money for services not rendered returned to you. I always tell people enquiring for our services that the indication of the agent's professionalism can easily be determined at the initial consultation. Firstly, check for their MARA registration number and do a search on www.mara.gov.au to check their history, whether they've been sanctioned or anything. Secondly, you would have been given a copy of the Code of Conduct to understand what's expected from your agent in terms of handling your case in an ethical and professional manner. A Consumer Guide should have also been given to you to inform you of how to go about complaining an agent if you think they are reaching the Code. These two documents are required by our Professional body - the MARA, that we provide them to the prospective client at the start of the consultation. In case these weren't given to you, let it be warning sign.

Hello po sa lahat,
Nagpa assess po ako sa Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. Sabi nila, need daw po nila ng detailed syllabus ng courses ko relative sa "Economics". Yung binigay ko pong course description is galing na mismo sa school. Okay lang po kayang mag Statutory Declaration nalang ako? Thanks po!
@RheaMARN1171933 Thanks for the reply. The problem is that the retainer's fee or agency fee is non refundable. And about the documents, so far what they have given is only contract of engagement so I'm not sure whether that pertains to Code of conduct since it sets the terms and responsibilities of both parties.

@australianwannabe I have been reading about agents lately. And per my reading. Code of Ethics should be provided separately or as an appendix to the contract.

@australianwannabe all registered agents have to abide by the Code of Conduct or risk being sanctioned by the MARA. In saying this, contracts with clients should be aligned with the Code. This is in as far as how I operate my practice. I cannot speak for other agents though.
With regards to the fees, as stated on the Code, we can only charge for services rendered and should return the money to clients for unrendered once. Again, I cannot speak for the contract you've signed but a professional registered agent who abides by the Code should return the money for services they have not delivered.

@australianwannabe you should have been provided with a copy of the Code of Conduct and Consumer guide anyway from the very beginning.
@RheaMARN1171933 Do I have any way to file a complain and would have a strong case against this agency?
RheaMARN1171933Posts: 2,789Member, Administrator, Moderator Joined: Mar 10, 2016
@australianwannabe I really can't tell you to be honest. Best to address questions like this to the MARA.

Hello, hope someone could answer my question. Thanks po!
Hello everyone! Baka may makakatulong sa tanong ko: para sa skills assessment (particularly within CPAA), kailangan ko pa ba magsubmit pati ng testimonial ng current employer ko? Thanks in advance!

Hi, I have another question. Halimbawang hindi superior and makuha ko sa PTE. Do you guys think I should use this score for skills assessment na agad or should I wait until I finally get a superior? The thing is, baka July pa ko makapag-retake ng PTE, and anyway mga March next year pa kami pwedeng lumipat ng Australia, so hindi kami nagmamadali..
Hello, marami po akong questions pasensya na. Bago lang.
Nakalagay sa Subclass 190:
Qualifications Points 1. A Doctorate degree from an Australian educational institution or a Doctorate from another educational institution that is of a recognised standard. 20
2. A Bachelor degree from an Australian educational institution or a Bachelor qualification, from another educational institution that is of a recognised standard. 15
3. A diploma or trade qualification completed in Australia 10
4. An award or qualification recognised by the relevant assessing authority for your nominated skilled occupation.
Kapag accredited yung detailed syllabus na sinubmit mo, pasok ka sa #2? tapos kapag cpa ka ba makukuha mo din yung #4 or hindi na? Thank youuuuu sa mga makakatulong.
