I am currently lodged in EA since March 23, 2018 with an agent. 'have submitted all my documents and now waiting for results.

PTE taken twice to get superior score and was successful.

Completed my documents within a month, struggled with my CDR but was able to complete it. It's easier pala if you do it your own, just try to recall how you did your projects. But I can't say yet na it's successful, not yet until i receive positive results from EA.

This waiting game makes me so anxious, i am just so thankful that i get to learn about pinoyau. Reading about success stories here makes me wanna pursue it the more.

Goodluck to all dream seekers out there!!!

    God bless!!!

Guys, just sharing my own experience here in Perth. We migrated here with my family last year 2016 and was assessed by EA as a mechanical engineer. I had been formerly engaged in several manufacturing companies in the PH under semiconductor and renewable energy plants. I'm most versed in plant facilities (facilities engineer/supervisor) for more than 10 years before we migrated. Based on my experience, it's seldom and hard to find manufacturing companies as recently I just accepted a job in the food sector here in Western Australia. AFAIK, eastern states have heaps of manufacturing/production and pharmaceutical companies out there.

My recommendation is to check your skills besides production as most jobs in Australia immediately were into blue collar jobs and mining. Set in yourself gaining new jobs available at your present location state as it is quite hard to begin from the start being a new migrant. Just take all your chances available and gain local jobs - the more the better regardless of the given salary rate your employer may offer. At a start, get construction white card induction online around 60-70 AUD coupled with your official full driving license or Type C (a must). Keep applying until you find your right or suitable in-line profession jobs.

For those starters, keep your inquiries coming as I won't hesitate to share my stint here so far.

While i am still confused about what I may face there in Australia, if in God's time be granted with Perm Visa, I would like to thank you @jedh_g that you took time to share your experiences and that you gave also the downside view. 'guess I and other aspiring immigrants under Anzsco 2335 group has to upgrade our skills, maybe thru Tesda short courses.

It's just so sad that I can't look for other Anzsco code. My experiences are more on semicon, electronic assembly and automotive manufacturing. (Any advise... Anyone please...)

I checked Seek.com and i found a lot of opportunities in Melbourne, maybe 2335 group can also consider Victoria as their state, although they said cost of living is higher.

Just to share, my friend (ECE grad), who now lives in Melbourne, found a job as customer service (finance) within 3 months after they settled. His husband found a job after a month in IT industry as helpdesk support while their 9y/o son is enrolled in childcare.

To add, the main applicant is the hubby and they worked at BPO before OZ that's why they weren't able to explore Eng'g opportunities in Australia.

I encourage anyone who can help give insights as @jedh_g _g, whose pretty informative. Thanks and God bless us all.

In terms of 2335 jobs, mas marami talaga sa Perth since mostly andun and industrial plants but meron din naman sa ibang regions.. And kung may time, better to gear up the skills. And kung may specialization much better, para mas higher chance na makapagexplore ng options to get a job.:)

    Hi @jedh_g

Ako rin po I am ECE by profession but yung work experience ko is more on Prod Engineer. Does it mean po ba na mahihirapan tayo makahanap ng work for example kapag sa NSW or VIC?

@Shyluck Hi, sa experience ko, you will never feel that you're ready to take IELTS or PTE. Kasi andun yung kagustuhan mong pumasa with superior score which makes you all the more anxious before taking the exam. Just do it, hindi ka maa-assess without it. Practice lng ng practice.

I took the test twice to get the superior score. I would advise you to buy a mock test, ksi most likely same format ang makukuha mo sa actual exam, at least sa akin gnun ngyari. Then ayun nga, replica cia of format and number of ques per type. The very reason kaya 75 n mostly nai-invite.

Pero ikaw pa rin magdi-dictate in your own convenient time para mg take na ng pte.

About dun sa pwedeng changes, mahirap i-predict yan, what we can do is to hope for the best and read at "Iscah.com".

I've read from other group threads that it's taking longer time to get an invite for 189s? Mas ok b n magsubmit ng EOI for 190 in NSW, where a lot are getting invites?

Does anyone knows a thread about it? Checking Iscah now for related topics.

    Hello
Yup meron na same thread like this as pointed out by @gibo43, and it's a bit lengthy already, but I guess you can get some stuff you want to know around our occupation through that if you scan through the pages.

On your question about 190 over 189, yes it's longer for 189 ngayon because priority talaga ang 190 sa allocation. If NSW is no issue for you, I suggest you submit EOI for that as well. Ako naman, mas priority sa amin to go to Melbourne kase meron kami family don, kaya we opted to have 189, pero yun nga, tagal ng waiting. Sa January batch namin, lahat granted na ang mga 190 and I think currently they are running the June batch, pero sa 189, it's still somewhere Nov-Dec batch pa. So 190 is a good option.

@onin111, Thanks for your advise, we may have to rethink our plan. Priority din namin Melbourne kaso not accepting EOI ang Vic now. Tama po ba intindi ko? Or open cia for 189.

Does it mean in actual, it's taking longer time to get an invite?

I've read from the other thread that there are no invites given for pro ratas last May 9. This is so sad. So I guess, once I received my EA, if it is positive, I won't get an invite anytime after a month, pipila p kasi.

@Shyluck Same case for my hubby ndi mtutukan review, shifting kasi cia 4/2 sched. He even enrolled in a review center for ielts, unli review until mkapasa, e ndi nya mareview all subjects kasi ndi reg attend nya . Nung ako nag purchase ako ng Nov pero ng take ng Jan, ung actual tutok n review 10 days lng, puyatan before my sched. Super kaba sa test center.

I would suggest mgtake k n para mkapila sa start ng fiscal/finance year (anuman tawag dun). I'm sure kaya mo yan.

Sige, mukang go na talaga no? BTW, kamusta processing niyo?

Online review lang ako tsaka videos from agent. Nagdownload din ako ng grammar apps. Kasi yung right prepositions medyo lito ako.

Under RESPALL, mahal pero able to save time nmn studying the process.

Waiting for EA result ako. Ano field ka po?

@Shyluck ahhh may isasama pala kayo sa application. I guess na as soon as your bf comes home, take nyo na asap para lodge agad ng eoi paglabas ng result. And wala pa din ba kayo EA assessment?

I would suggest na ganito nalang gawin nyo
    1. Take pte. Aim for superior kung kaya para maganda points
    2. Complete na ba cdrs nyo? If yes pass agad pagbalik ng results ng pte
    3. While waiting for the result prepare all docs needed.
    4. Submit agad eoi as soon as bumalik na results ng assessment. Baka mauna pa uwi ng partner nyo if ever

Unfortunately, this cannot be achieved in a month. So talagang aabutan kayo ng july. But still submit nontheless. Changes ata will only affect benefiys sa mga may anak na.

@MLBS So sa EOI pala, akala ko sa EA. Kasi yun yung itinanong namin sa agent, her answer was mag intay daw muna ng favorable letter from EA. Medyo kulang explanation ng agent namin ha..

Yes I think they closed the 190 nomination sa Victoria for now, but the 189 is open for any state.
What I meant na matagal ang waiting is on the grant na. For EOI yes it is score dependent and if pro-rata or hindi, the Iscah estimate is a good reference as well. Yes I think they are not giving invites for pro-rata, parang na basa ko yun before, especially Auditors.

Based on this list, parang hindi pa naman matatanggal ang EE, so ok lang yan.

Often times, you need to invest gaining local experience as well as industry connections to penetrate in a certain job area of target employment. Baka kasi mag expect tayo na komo engineering professionals tayo sa pinas eh same din kabilis ng employment title here down under. There's a saying here, before you start walking, you begin here by crawling. I've been here for 1.5 years since we first migrated, but I tell you, hindi madali.

@Pixiepie no worries. It's really not easy to start on your first years here as a PR. I've seen former working visas here (457 visa) holders with their families struggling here for years except they had an immediate employer upon landing in Australia instantly unlike us.

I had shared my experience to prepare aspirants but not to discourage you to pursue your dreams here with your families. My point is to prepare your mind mentally to accept the changes as I had heaps of odd jobs just to have the family survive decently for house rent, bills and as applicable pay migration debts back to the PHL.

Keep the questions coming in, I know how you feel as I've been that skeptic when I first landed here. But it's all worth the wait.

@jon1101a well at eastern states where NSW and VIC have more production/manufacturing plants, you got big chances on landing the same job but the downside is mas mahal ang cost of living sa NSW for instance and house rental compared here at Western State (Perth). Again, it will fall on personal preferences, if you think its more advantageous for you to settle either NSW or VIC, it's your call. I considered Perth as the state is more family focused, relaxed, laid back and has mining jobs potential. If you're looking into production engineer job, I seldom saw that lucrative as Australia don't invest much in mass-production people/personnel as labor here is much expensive compare sa pinas. Wala nga sila sariling car brand, only Holden, nagsara pa.
