@jijolly ahh dapat pala ganyan mejo steady lang talaga unng intonation. Sakin kasi rising and falling ng ilang beses per sentence dahil sa stress/emphasis. Eto yung sample ko ng pagbasa:

@ginpomelo Yes it will help a lot since makapag score sia sa speaking mo ulit. That's what i'm about to suggest din, if okay lang mag mock exam ka ulit. But use a good quality na headphone with mic.

@ginpomelo It seems very clear din when listening sa recording mo, though nag investigate ako kapag kinompare ko sources ng voice ko dati, headphone mic, PC mic, mobile phone mic, ang napansin ko lang is yung background noise nila pinaka less sa headphone mic. But the environment is different sa actual test diba, kase may background noise.

Hello guys. Help. Last month I took PTE. Sobrang baba ng pronounciation ko. So mababa din speaking ko. I think maayos naman ako magsalita.

@ginpomelo just my opinion, pero medyo heavily accented yung speaking mo and kinda nagsusuffer yung flow/oral fluency and pronunciation. maybe don't focus too much on your accent and focus more sa oral fluency mo in a sense na more natural yung the delivery, the intonation seems fine naman. I'm no expert ha so this is just my 2 cents. I guess the best way para sure is to get a professional assessment if you have the time and budget of course. Goodluck!

@adamwarlock thanks sa advice, noted yan. My husband kasi who took the PTE exam got 90 on Speaking asked me to use my accent cos' he used it daw during speaking and he knows I can imitate the accent better than him. So most probably mag mock test muna ako. Hays.

@ginpomelo ahhh I see, maybe just tone down the accent a bit? I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you can improve sa fluency and pronunciation (note: clarity) with this.. yes go for the mock test first, para matest mo if the adjustments you make (if any) works or not.

@ginpomelo accent got nothing to do with how PTE scores your speaking. as long as you speak with audible, confident and clear pronunciation of words, mataas makukuha mo. ako nga pilipit dila nakakuha nga mataas sa speaking hehe. practice ka lang palagi, like reading aloud, basa ka lang ng basa ng malakas para mapakingan mo which words yun mejo nahihirapan ka i pronounce and then work on improving it. don't stutter, say uhm, long pause...this will definitely lower your score. Don't forget that PTE will test you like a native speaker of english, so dapat yun flow ng pagsasalita mo continuous, parang natural lang at parang di ka na nagiisip ano ba yun susunod mo pa na sasabihin.

@ginpomelo sa akin ha, i spoke a bit faster. Lalo na sa read aloud. Kasi before, nag enunciate talaga ako, and i spoke slower para ma register talaga yung sinasabi ko. Pero lalo bumaba speaking ko. So may nagrecommend na an average native speaker can finish the paragraph in 17-23 seconds. So try finishing in between that frame. Sa describe naman, template lang tlg and make sure na you've spoken for 37sec. Sa retell, mas lalo na template lang talaga need and 3 key points

Agree ako na nahila tlg scores ng r and l mo. Kasi ako ung nagpractice na ako with that set up, na okay na rin ang r and l ko which ul to 75 lang ako before

@ginpomelo hi! Maybe to add din since yan din ang frustration ko before, theory ko talaga na kapag medyo soft spoken or feminine ang voice (like yours and mine) mababa nakukuha sa speaking. I improved my speaking from 45 to 90 by speaking faster and louder, medyo monotone (not exaggerating the rise and fall pero di din naman super flat and dapat may conviction or diin), and most importantly: deepening my voice. May nagsuggest sakin dito nung kinukuha daw dapat sa stomach yung voice, I tried it on my 3rd exam and mukhang nag work naman. Haha.

@dyanisabelle thanks. Mukhang ganun na nga ang nangyari, yan din ang advise sakin nung isang friend ko. She’s a girl pero very deep ang voice nya and she got 90.

@dyanisabelle @ginpomelo That theory is I think yung reason why your hubby and I got 90 sa speaking. It's the masculine voice and not his accent. Then add to that yung speed, clarity, fluency. Though he used accent , and I myself naman slightly accented, nanaig siguro ang masculine voice theory. I never tried my natural/normal voice though kaya ala akong feedback sa ganung setup.
