Hello! I need some opinion. Im not sure kung magpapass ba ko ng documents to APHRA for the bridging program. Kung magpass po ko ng december baka umabot sa 2nd half of 2019 which will they apply the OSCE. Should i still pass the documents/requirements for APHRA and wait for LOA or should i wait na implement nila ung bagong system nila? Nacoconfuse po ako. Salamat po sa mga sasagot

@pautylips I think most of the required documents will still be the same. The only thing is that we do not know what is the exact process and if the fees will still be the same. At least if you submit now, by the time they implement the new pathway, you will be first in line. And if they still allow bridging program, you will be ready to enrol. But if time is not of the essence for you, wait and see would be fine too.

    Hello,

My sister is coming here in Sydney to study Nursing at WSU in 2019. Can anyone help or provide a thread for what is the checklist or first things to do when she arrived (e.g. I.D. etc.)?

    Thanks po.

    Hello everyone,

I've recently joined your forum and noticed that every discussion here is very informative and guiding. I want to get some more information about work training programs for AHPRA registered overseas nurses. I received my AHPRA registration couple of weeks ago and just applied for ANMAC assessment.
I've applied for jobs but I got same response from every employers that they need post IRON program experience. Can I get some help in this matter. More importantly I want to do one request if possible please do every discussion in English only.

    Thank you.

pwede po magtanong, may saudi experience po akong 2 years, pero hindi naprocess ng employer ko yung license ko dahil at that time, i still lacked experience. they promised to process my license if i renew my contract for another 2 years but i did not renew. now im not sure po kung idedeclare ko pa ba yun for iron program application sa ahpra? kasi kahit may COE ako as staff nurse, hours not included, eh wala naman po akong COGS na makukuha. I was thinking kung ibahin ko nalang ilagay ko for the year 2013-2015 para di magka problema. but i am also afraid na baka magkaproblema din kung mag lie ako. i really dont know what to do. please help. would greatly appreciate your response. God bless!

@manpi If you have an overseas experience, you might wanna try to submit your CV to agencies like Sugarman or you can start off by being an agency nurse.

@nuraena Are you a registered Nurse Tech in Saudi? I’ve read somewhere that AHPRA recognizes this role as long as you can prove that your roles are that of an RN. I’m not too sure if it’s still the case though. I hope someone can share their experience with you.

Anyway, you should not lie in your application. You would be jeopardising everything if you choose to do so. They do random checks every now and then.

Hi @Cassey thanks for the response. I passed the prometrics, and so they hired me to work there thinking that I would be able to process for the license upon arrival. Pero I lacked work experience which the saudi council requires, so hindi naprocess. Then the contract ended. I got employment cert that stated na I worked as a staff nurse. Pero hindi indicated yung hours. It will be difficult to get another coe from them now, and I wont be able to get cogs from saudi too kasi I dont have a license number. What do you think I can do? Although I have 1 year experience sa pinas naman din na pwede ko magamit. Would it hurt my application if I indicate in my CV na nag work ako in saudi but cannot provide cogs? Your response will be appreciated. Thanks

@nuraena Sorry but I don’t know anyone who is in exact situation as you are. If you think that it was somehow illegal to be working as RN there then best not to declare it.

@Cassey hello po. IHNA offered me Graduate diploma in nursing + cert in aged care 4 20K AUD then i can take OBA by mid 2019 while the program is ongoing. Is this the best option to be a RN in Australia? or i will take conversion in nursing in 1 year 26k AUD? what is the best and safest pathway po?

@manpi It would be helpful if you can provide more details regarding your experience and background prior to getting AHPRA registration. AHPRA only requires 450 hours of experience/nursing practice to be registered and this is only about 3-4 months of full time work. Many employers prefer those with experience in specific areas partially because there are also many new nursing graduates from Australian Unis. I believe this is the reason why those whom you have applied to requires post BP experience.

@Korenai Hi,sorry I’m not familiar with the pathway that IHNA is offering you. Ask them if that leads to registration and make sure that it really does. The only thing that I can think of why one takes up Aged Care is to somehow lengthen their stay here in Au or help with their settling in.
I would rather go through a pathway that’s guaranteed like the Conversion Course. It maybe a bit more expensive but at least you know that it’ll lead to registration.

@danjoe03 You just have to keep on trying, keep your options open and don’t limit yourself to hospitals. I’m pretty sure there will always be a place that will accept those RNs without local experience. I know a lot of nurses who got hired without local experience so it’s pretty much dependent on your circumstances and how well you present yourself.

@mrsespejo Dependent din ako before and all throughout our SV days I worked full time whenever my hubby is on his school holiday. Never naman akong nakakuha ng warning. Even his classmates’ dependents do. But anyway, if that’s what they say then just follow it or check your visa conditions thru Vevo to confirm what you’re entitled to.

Hello! Good day! I just want to know if okay ba education linkages. And now I’m in search for a school.

@pmac Hi, Hindi nagmamatter yung school, ang pinakatinitignan nila is yung experience mo overseas. If I were you, I wouldn’t be picky especially that most of schools are already closed for the next year’s intakes.

@Cassey Hi! Not for being picky but more on para makatipid din ako sa accommodation kasi para pwede na dun ako sa kanila instead of renting saka if sa Monash pwede dun ako mag placement sa Hosp nila sana. Kaso ayun nga reading from the previous comments here talagang pahirapan kumuha ng slots.
