SC 475 visa to SC 887 visa

smartbratsmartbrat BrisbanePosts: 55Member
Please enlighten me on this.

We are now Visa 475 (Regional Sponsored) visa. I am the principal and my husband is my dependent. Visa 475 entitles us to apply for permanent residence through Skilled Regional (Residence) Visa -Subclass 887 after certain conditions have been met.

As stated in the website:

Entitlements

This visa allows you and your dependants to:

1. temporarily live and work in a designated regional area in Australia
2. study in a specified regional area of Australia
3. travel in and out of Australia while the visa is valid
4. apply for permanent residence through the Skilled Regional (Residence) visa (subclass 887) after certain conditions have been met.

My question now is: What if my husband (who is my dependent) will fulfill all the conditions for us to apply for PR, will he be allowed to apply? Even though he is only my dependent? Please notice above list, the heading says - This visa allows you and your dependants to.

Thank you very much in advance!

that is a hard one. I don't think forumers could answer that fairly. Better to contact DIAC or your previous CO or anyone from the team to avoid misinformation.

    cheers.

    Thanks again!

Pwede po yung husband nyo which is secondary applicant to apply for PR 887 visa. Pwede syang maging principal applicant for the PR visa if he completes the Regional sponsored visa requirements. Kung mag live sya at mag work ng full time (35 hours/ week) eligible na syang mag apply ng PR para sa family nyo. Irregardless kahit anu pa yung work na makuha nya basta full time. :)

Hi k_mavs! I knew it... you have an answer for this! :) Are you sure, kahit dependent ko lang sya? Have you known people of the same case? So if that is the case, I can relax a bit... Hehehehe!

Yup.meron ako nakilala dito sa Mandurah na family na ganun din ang case.yung secondary ang naunang nakacomplete ng mga PR requirements kaya sya na ung nag apply as primary applicant.

    @smartbrat

    Hi smartbrat,
I hope that you and your family are happily settled now in OZ.

Your query is similar to mine. May I know if your case has been validated from DIAC authorities as well? I intend to raise the same query once we attend the DIAC Info session we shall have in Adelaide, SA.

We plan to have my husband, who is my dependent, to go first this April 2013. Then my kids and I will follow a year later. The limitation I see is that our visa is valid only upto July 2015, thus fulfilling only 1 year of residency and employment on my part (principal in 475). Can this situation still suffice even if my husband will be the one to fulfill the 2 year residency and 1 year employment first, and now apply as principal for 887 visa.

May I know too which State have your family settled?

    Thanks much and regards,
    Faith

@Faith - for sure you know that you have to satisfy the Initial Entry requirement on your visa..
and that the primary should enter first or together with the secondary/dependents...

    HI lock_cide 2004,
Thank you for your reply. Yes, my family and I will enter AUS this April 2013 and then leave my husband behind to check opportunities and fulfill the requirements for 887. My kids and I will follow a year later. With this, I will be lacking in years to fulfill the 887 requirements but my husband will be able to fulfill it. Thus can he then initiate 887 instead of me.

Again thank you and look forward to your reply...

    Cheers,
    Faith
