Credit Cards in Australia

TasBurrfootTasBurrfoot OsakaPosts: 4,336Member
edited November 2012 in General
I hope some people can put in some inputs regarding below queries:

(1) Any credit card to suggest for points in say Qantas Frequent Flyer or discounts in groceries?
(2) Does credit card companies in Australia readily waive the annual fee? The past 6 year that I have been using credit cards on my own account, I never paid an annual fee. It might be different in Australia though.

Thanks guys! :)

@psychoboy, I have a Woolworths Qantas Paypass na nage-earn ng Qantas Frequent Flyer. Though may annual fee na $89, nagamit ko na yung points ko for international flight at ito ring scheduled flight namin to Gold Coast next month. I can also get fuel discount in using this CC. Mag 2 years pa lang since mag apply ako dito sa CC company na ito.

Yes, meron din credit card na waive yung annual fees. My wife has a Coles CC, no annual fees, it accummulates points na nagagamit nya for groceries. Yun nga lang mababa ang credit limit nya. Pero ok na rin if your intention is to use it for groceries or shopping lang online.

Question po, mahigpit po ba diyan when it comes to credit application? Matagal ba yung approval and same requirements din ba like here in Pinas.

@glaiza1210, as far as I can remember, yung sa Coles CC, my wife applied online, then same day tinawagan sya just to confirm her address. Tapos yun lang, after a week yata na-receive na nya yung CC. In my case naman sa Woolies CC, I also applied online, pero I can't remember kung nag provide ba ako ng payslip or something. After 2 or 3 weeks na receive ko na yung CC ko.

    Bringing this back...

I just got approved today for a credit card with ANZ and it came with 50K Qantas Frequent Flyer miles; to put that into perspective, that is free RT ticket to Bangkok from Melbourne - short of 10K miles though para makapag RT to Manila.

Less than 1 day approval - ayus! :)

@TasBurrfoot - congrats.

Any suggested credit card for the new migrants na wala pang trabaho at credit history.

    Salamat.

I don't think may banko na magbibigay ng credit card sa new migrants na wala pang trabaho and credit history...
