If not on the list, wala na pag-asa?

I’ve been working in financial services for 10 yrs. but my job is not on the list. I sometimes see sites saying that there is a chance of migrating to regional areas if you’re not on the list. But when i go to the state’s website, parang kailangan pa din andun sa list.

Meron po bang nkakapag submit ng EOI na kahit wala sa occupation list, or there’s no such thing? Thank you

Parang wala pa po ako nakikita na nag submit ng EOI pero wala sa occupation list..
Tama po kayo, kapag chineck nyo yung State’s websites ibig sabihin ay yun ang mga occupation na willing silang mag bigay ng State Sponsorship be it Regional (489) or 190.
May pag-asa pa din naman po, pwede kayong mag student visa pero ang pag aaralan nyong course ay yung may pathway sa mga occupation na nasa listahan pa din. Ano po ang line of work nyo specifically? Baka yung line of work nyo ay somewhat or closely-related on any occupation on the list? Kung may partner kayo pwede din sya ang mag apply & ikaw ang dependant. Pwede mo din research kung possible ka sa Canada. Anyway, antayin din natin ang inputs ng iba.

@just.anotherguy hello! Actually naghahanap po ako ng migration agency na may office dito sa manila para i can explain my situation and receive good advice.

My work is credit card fraud specialist. I would like to know po if my skills can be assessed to be of value, or if mairerelate to any occupation sa list. I’ve been in financial services for 10 yrs. i dont have a partner and studying would mean paying a loan, while also paying rent kase wala ako family sa aus. Willing naman ako, but i’ve been reading that it’s quite impossible to do that

@ER1 It's quite impossible. I've done a quick search on your job and it's not n the Skilled Occupants list. You can also try checking Canada or New Zealand.

I’m thinking of moving to our company’s recruitment dept so i can gain experience as a recruiter (i have a bit of prev experience more than 10 yrs ago). Ilang yrs of recent experience po ba ang required for me to be able to claim that i am on the list?

Hi @ER1. I'm not a finance person but it appears your current job falls under ANZSCO 552211: Credit or Loans Officer. It is not on any list. Meanwhile, points requirements for Accountant and Auditor are on their highest. Yes, best to seek services of a migration agent.

@ER1 You have the issue of points. 8 (or above) years of experience grants you max points in your EOI. So even if you qualify in the SOL, you will have your experience assessed and that points will reflect in your EOI.

There's also the issue of age, school etc. Trying looking for points calculator online so you can have an idea if you can be invited or not.

You can also try the school route, BUT based on the forums, guys who finish school in AU are sent back home to apply visa like everybody else. Not sure if this is true.

@carlosau per your advise, i tried the points calculator on Tassie’s immigration site. They give 5 points for 3 yrs exp; 10 for 5 yrs, 15 for 8 yrs.
according to the calculator, there is a chance i can reach 65 points even without experience if i study in a regional area for 2 yrs (provided mataas ako sa ielts, which i have not taken). This is for the Skilled Independent Subclass 189.

@ER1 Are you saying that you can apply for visa 189 if you're going to study in a regional area for 2 years? Parang may mali? But if its true, then take that path. Looks good.

Get IELTS instead of PTE so you can still use the results in visa applications outside NZ and AU.

Also, you can check estimates on when will you be invited for a 65 pointer EOI.

@ER1 Your EOI expires if you are not invited in a set amount of time. This usually happens for EOI with low points.

@carlosau err di ako sure. I just tried to see what would give me 65 points if i dont have experience in the nominated occupation. Here’s how i got 65:

Age: 33-39 = 25 pts
English ability: IELTS 8+ = 20
Australian study of at least 2 yrs (degree/ diploma,etc) - yes = 5
Regional study - yes = 5
Highest qualification - recognised trade qualification (the school where i got my bachelor’s here in phils is only level3) = 10
Professional yr program - no = 0
Overseas work exp in nominated occ - less than 3 yrs = 0
Aussie work exp - less than 1 yr = 0
Partner - none = 0
Designated language - no = 0
TOTAL = 65

I have no idea kng basta mareach mo 65 eh ok na

I think before ka mag 65 points, you have to enroll pa on Regional Study. That's where your extra 5 points will come from.

Even if you reach 65 points, you're not sure you'll get invited. Check iscah for estimates on your field.

I'm not sure if you can work while studying, kasi I believe working in AU will grant you points as well.

Pag 65 points ka na, try going for Regional State Sponsored. +10 points yun. So magiging 75 ka. That’s what i did.

@ER1 NAATI CCL exam para maka-claim ka ng 5 points extra (that claim is under designated language, I guess). However, for me, before studying etc, make sure may solid pathway ka kasi otherwise, sayang ang mga gastos for studying.

@ER1 and also take note, not to discourage you, but 65 nowadays won't be invited instantly. People sitting at 70 need to wait either for a year or so. So, if your assessing body will give you a green light (meaning, suitable for migration) then take the actions to increase your points.

1. By aiming for superior PTE scores (20 pts)
2. Take and pass NAATI CCL (5 pts)
3. 2 years Australian study requirement (5 pts)
4. Regional study for 2 years (5 pts)

@ER1 hindi na po ako nag student, swerte at nasa Short Term List yung sakin. Then nag South Australia ako kasi andun yung anzsco code ko. And they are giving out visa 489 (which is automatic +10 points)

@ER1 Once you decide on an occupation to nominate also consider other skilled immigrant visas like 190 and 489. May additional points kasi for state-sponsored visas. Just familiarize yourself with each state's requirements for nomination kasi iba-iba yan. May states that won't nominate you if tumira ka na sa ibang state and may states na mataas ang required points for certain occupations. Nag-iiba yung immigration rules every so often pero mabuti nang familiar ka sa mga possibleng i-require sa iyo.

@ER1 Learn as much as you can so you can decide on the best option to pursue.

Kung mag-student visa ka aside from ensuring the course is for an occupation in the migration list, also check what the requirements are for a positive skills assessment. May occupations na kailangan may X years of experience after obtaining a degree. Since it seems na hindi related to any occupation in the list yung current occupation mo, this means you might have to get related work experience after you finish your course. This is not to discourage you but to give you tips on things to consider.
